the pico neo 3 link is still available on amazon. it is display port and a wireless standalone if that's your thing. it's way cheaper than the dpvr e4. 275 euro at the moment. to be honest DPVR are living in dreamland with the pricing of the headset.
It’s really baffling that they created a new version without upgrading the displays / lenses. A „lighter“ pimax crystal light would be enough for a lot of users.
This is pretty much same as 4 year old Reverb G2. Why can't they go for local dimming lcd or oled with pancake lense with little higher resolution than G2? This spec not gonna attract consumers. Hope Dpvr team can come up with better to compete with Pimax or Bigscreen Beyond. Praydog's UE5 mod will make pcvr very shine so more competition is good thing
I'm a bit tired of the "new" headsets after the Quest 3... the Pimax Light, Apple's Vision Pro, and now this one.... whatever these headsets do, they can't beat the price/quality ratio of the Quest 3. There is nothing that can convince me to throw money on any of those new headsets, because the Quest 3 is so good and I'm always seeing improvements with new updates.
I Argee, the Quest 3 is a wonderful headset and has excellent visual quality. But, I am thinking of getting that Pimax Crystal Light to have as my Main PCVR headset. I know that Quest 3 can also become a PCVR headset via Link Cable or using wireless apps. But, it only offers 25ppd. I already have the Base Stations and Valve Index controllers, so I am going to get that Pimax Crystal Light with the Face Plate Bundle. Because it offers 35ppd. So, if you think the Quest 3 looks good. I can only imagine how good this Pimax Crystal Light will look. I am excited.
@@WOojerVest3andQuest3onMe It most likely will look better if you have at least a 4070ti GPU and above. My RTX3080 is already too slow to get most out of my Quest 3 and certainly a Pimax.
Well I went with the Quest 3 for doing my PCVR SIM racing games.. I also connect the headset via a USB link cable and all my racing games work very well - don't see any issues doing this method. I really like the clarity of the lenses of the Quest 3 I watched several videos on the Quest 3 and from SIM racers that used the headset, and all of them said it was very good for VR. I would not get this DRVR E4 headset. I find the Quest 3 adequate for my usages. Thanks for the video. Take care.
You may like to try Virtual Desktop if having good router (WiFi5 or WiFi6). An amazing clarity when playing in "Godlike mode" and 200Mbps encoding. Still can go with the cable for charging battery.
VR Lowdown I noticed you have a Quest 3 and a Pimax Crystal. How much better does the Crystal look compared to the Quest 3...? I am thinking of ordering the Pimax Crystal Light with Face Plate bundle. I have the Base Stations and Valve Index/Knuckles controllers already so I feel this is a good upgrade.
These are pretty dated, apart from the minor FOV increase. I'm not sure what these guys were smoking when they decided to release this in 2024/25. Not even a resolution increase. Hell, these are still using Fresnel lenses. Should have just stick to B2B arcades giving customers a poor impression of VR with those godawful optics and resolution

Why are they almost 800 bucks? So many headsets are way too overpriced. Idc how niche it is, it doesn’t mean you can charge an arm and a leg. As soon as creators make videos the price sky rockets, the eventually get discontinued, then the price goes up more. People are trying to sell the rift s upwards of 700-800 bucks. It’s crazy. There needs to be an actually fairly priced headset that’s not Meta related.

Looks like they just added a Black option to the original. At $599 this doesn't make any sense. Maybe ok at $299.

You have to take into account that Meta is selling the Quest 3 at a loss.. and they make up for it with sales on their store.

Can get a quest 2 for a third the cost. Or a quest 3 for the same. This thing doesn’t make sense

Quest 3 is better because it has better edge to edge clearity Pancake lense and bigger field of view and you can play wireless mode.
Fresnel sucks so bad.
I agree Fresnel Lenses shouldn't even exist. They ruin the visual experience. Sony uses them with the PSVR2. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
