    Wow, love the way you can move cards in board view, like Trello!

    Thanks for the awesome trick! I'm horrible about moving tasks to tomorrow over and over. I love being able to see a kind of week view to space things out a little better.

      You're welcome. And don't worry about moving tasks around. That's what a task manager is meant to do. You don't have complete everything today.

    I like your videos and learn a lot from them. The example that you presented regarding UPCOMING started on Wednesday, if you are preparing for next week and the weekend you have a problem because they present only Monday to Sunday on the same screen.

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes. I believe that is intentional. We are planning either the next day or the week. You can use the arrow buttons at the top to move on to the following week. If you want to see a longer timeline, you can do that with filters and create an upcoming board to show two weeks or even a month (although that would be overwhelming and likely not to be very useful)

    As always good video, Carl. I get busy and don’t always know about the latest Todoist updates and your videos are super helpful. Always learning something about Todoist and/or task management. Appreciate you!

    So you use this setup for your weekly planning. So do start planning the following week by blocking time in your callendar, or by setting up your tasks for the week, then blocking time for those tasks?
    I'm still struggling a little when to update my blogs, when to work on finding clients, when to study ..., I've got communications figured out - which I REALLY like (no ping-pong anymore), writing/updating posts for social media... I like dragging my Overdue tasks in the Board view. Anyway. Thanks again Carl for helping us. Roger

      @Carl_Pullein  Před 9 měsíci

      I've engineered it so that most of my blocks of time for writing and audio/visual work are fixed as much as possible each week. This means I have less planning to do, and it makes it easier to schedule meetings because then I know when I am not available

    When I discovered you a year or two ago I implemented your color-coding system, which has greatly helped my productivity. I hate the new update with the hashtags as I use the desktop and they're too faint to see color variations. I would love to know if you have a workaround for this, as in addition I don't like thinking of my projects as hashtags --- I have enough hashtags in my life. There's been some discussion on Reddit about it., so I know I'm not the only one.

    • @Carl_Pullein

      Ah, sadly everything changes and often not in a way we as individuals like. Most of these new design features Todoist are playing with are experimental at the moment, and if you don't like a specific part, you can use the feedback button.
      I don't know of any way to switch back to a legacy version of Todoist.

    • @Komatik_
      @Komatik_ Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah, the old solid-colored project/label/filter colors were a lot easier to distinguish. I'm not really a fan of the really faint sidebar tint either, it's so light it lacks contrast between the sidebar and tasks area. I'm also just generally a fan of apps having Office-esque color coded titlebars, makes switching between apps much easier and just gives the app character.

    Brilliant. It's interesting how such a small thing can be so valuable. I stay with ToDoist for its calendar integration- but it sometimes seems overly complex. This is a great shortcut for planning. Thanks Carl!

    Is this only on the desktop web version? I can only get the Board View option on Inbox, Today, and my projects not on Upcoming tasks. What gives? Is this an Apple only option??

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It's available on the desktop and web view. You do need to be using the latest version of Todoist.

      If you click the three dots at the right-hand side of the label, project or filter, you can make it a favourite.

    @Carl_Pullein Great video, as always, but I have a question about your desktop (the purple with the widgets). What computer are you using, and how did you set that up? It looks super clean!

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi Brad, the background colour is the standard purple desktop colour in the wallpaper setting on your Mac. The widgets are the new widgets in macOS Sonoma

    Great video, Carl! I've been using Board view for several months now for both planning and upcoming items for weekly planning. I've run into a bit of a problem though. On Saturday if I want to use the Upcoming feature for the upcoming week, it steadfastly refuses to show me the next week until Sunday. Have you had this happen to you? Or does your version work differently? I've only just updated to the latest version today so maybe that's already sorted.

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi Gaelyne; you can use the arrow buttons at the top to move to the following week. If you prefer to see a more flexible view, you can use filters to create your own custom upcoming board.

    My life is full of repetitive projects. I need to be able to setup a template of linked todos and appointments such as a type of meeting and all of the todos leading up to it and following it that are automatically assigned due dates based upon the actual meeting date. Is there hope?

    • @Carl_Pullein
