Nah, 50% of the game (like 200 songs out of 500) are paid. Still, the free content is already more than most rhythm games have in total, plus there's a 40 hour story that comes with it so I don't think it's that bad. Also on Android you can get access to all the content for 5$ a month with the Google Play Pass subscription.

    • @soraudagawa3022
      @soraudagawa3022 Před 10 měsíci

@@amiigoesmuu272 songs are paid only, so half of the total songs in the game (552). For the price of literally free iirc (maybe 1$ if they still charge that) I think that's a better offering than most games in the genre.
Phigros is still better at it though since it's free, will always be free (the devs confirmed this) and gets updates (extra songs, story, etc) pretty much every week/every two weeks.

Super glad you liked Cytus II, it’s one of my favorite rhythm games! A few things you should know:
the game is very story-heavy, and songs are unlocked through progressing, so the selection for each character will change depending on where you are in the game!
The characters you were looking at that weren’t free were either crossover characters from other games, or extra content not needed to complete the story.
Anyway, I really love these videos, hope you make a part 3! :)

In defense of osu, I play osu a lot (like… a LOT a lot) and had legit no idea there was a mobile version lol. It looks real not great (and very different from the desktop version), and the beatmaps were weird.
The actual desktop version is way, WAY better. You can get (free) skins to make it look/sound how you want (or make your own), the gameplay is better, and there’s osu!mania which’d probably be more up your alley as a mobile player, because you just use a keyboard. Reminiscent of piano tiles which is how most of the mobile rhythm gamers I know got their start, so it’s way easier to learn to operate.
Not to say you need to make another video on it, but if you or any commenters are looking for a desktop rhythm game it’s really good and everything is completely free :)

Dynamix is actually my favourite rhythm game. There isn't much loading after the first time at all. Music is good and there are a ok number of songs but you can also buy more songs with "frags" after you have played them in event mode. Beatmaps are crazy good imo and everything is on beat and it's pretty easy to play most songs in casual to normal mode and get a B or above when you get used to it. It doesn't waste effort on idols or anything and it's a pretty simple and sleek game and that's why I love it.

Anyways I'm not sure if you already know but I do want to point out that the reason non idol rhythm games have a lot of paid songs is because that's where most of their revenue comes from since most of these games don't have any paid gacha aspect. There are indeed some exceptions like Phigros who has everything free and its just a matter of unlocking them. Anyways, that's all from me, no recommendations this time and I look forward to part 3.

I've been playing that game since launch and experienced the good and the worst of the bugs since launch (random crashes, game not loading files, broken downloads, losing an account and more). I'm actually happy they survived this long (they have just celebrated 8th anniv) and still pumping new contents up until now.
Seeing their 1st live concert up until now made me tear up that I feel like I'm their father that watched his kid grew up to be a very successful person lmao

I really like your Review in Arcaea! but i gotta warn you, it gets harder in later difficulties. Your Thumbs will suffer, but you'll learn from it eventually. Also Arcaea does have a thing about buying character packs like Cytus II. but not only you get more songs, You also get the Partner from the pack! (Though other partners are in world mode, along with the songs) partners have different skills, it can benefit or challenge you and i'm not talking about the stories on packs because most of the players wouldn't care anyways lol
also on your review of Touhou Dankagura: Questionable character designs
Look up Touhou 6 Characters and find it's wiki, it's more questionable than Dankagura

to me since i play a lot a lot of music rhythm games, but it really depends on the note design for me! additional points for storyline! also i think that phigros is like not a music rhythm game its like a music note design game- i cant rmb the exact thing but the unique point of he game is the note design!! i am a very big hard cytus 2 player so im happy that u like it!! the trick to cytus is that u follow the line for the beat (up and down) cytus 2 is good bc they give u the characters and their songs. u have to play the songs to increase the character's level to unlock different parts of the story. i really like the story too bc the game adds cutscenes and special gameplay events where its related to story !! i rec u play all the way to the end? or wherever they have stopped for storyline.

Hi! Thanks for making a cool video on rhythm games! It really does help new players to know which ones they would like to try! But to be really honest, there are many things that are inaccurate in the video that I want to point out:
    1. most of the unique features in rhythm games actually shine in harder charts. For example, in Arcaea, sky notes(and holds) will appear anywhere between the 2 judgment lines, and this feature will only show in harder charts. The sky notes are also one of the main reason why Arcaea is so hard. I do understand that it requires a lot of skills to play harder charts, but it's better to include it because the system is rating the overall game.
    2. It's honestly hard to just judge a rhythm game by playing it once,, For example, in Dynamix, the main way to get songs(for free) is through time-limited song events(they won't show up if you did not buy them with in-game currencies). So you won't be able to know that there are actually a lot of free songs if you just look at it for once.
    3. A few things about phigros: the slide notes work just like the ones in dynamix; you can keep your hand on the judgment line before the notes reach it, and it is judged with either "perfect" or miss(both hold and tap need to be tapped, and they also can be judged as "good") Also, phigros don't actually own GOODTEK, Ebimayo does. Phigros only have the right to use it in the game(so that's why you'll see GOODTEK in other rhythm games too) So it's pretty inaccurate to say that GOODTEK got copyrighted because of phigros. Also I feel like it's just strange to say that Phigros has common rhythm game mechanics. Phigros is like, literally the first non-community rhythm game to use game mechanics as decoration in almost all official charts(you won't be seeing charts with notes as judgement lines, judgement line constantly moving around, etc before Phigros was created) If you need examples on how the charts look, try searching Opia and Ark(in only, ez and hd charts won't show how cool they look)
    4. The rating system for "are the songs good" is..weird? It's just off to use a check and an x for music genres in a rhythm game. In the video, Arcaea got a check but Phigros got an x, even if both of their music is electronic-based. In fact, many of Arcaea's music is louder and faster compared to Phigros' (eg: #1f1e33 and Grevious Lady) Take me as an example, I only like listening to electronic music, but that still isn't a reason for me classify the music in, for example, idol rhythm games as an "x". (like honestly, you could have just used a dot for the genre part, becuase everyone have different tastes)
In conclusion, I feel like the main issue over here is that the video is good for first impressions, but it's just sorta bad for rating the whole game because you didn't really look deep into how the game works. Thanks for reading this extra-long comment, and have a nice day!

I never have any issues w idolish7 loading time tho ...
You can adjust the speed in live setting but there’re only like 5 fixed speed levels lol ???
When you first downloaded the game, they will set you at the lowest speed (I recommend playing at middle speed for most songs).
It’s a safe game for everyone (don’t worry if you bad at rhythm shiezt i think i7 is REALLY simple compared to games)
It’s quite easy to get full combo at EXPERT level but pls aware that it’s hard to perfect with a high score/ high grades (S and above) at the beginning (took me 1 week to get SS at normal mode lol im dumb)
A plus is they will not kick you out even when you missed all the notes + you can exit while playing without loosing any hearts.
Anw the UI of the rhythm part is quite old and it annoys me.
Aside from that, they have peak story plot (w full voice), amazing characters and bop songs (+ many VocaP/ famous Jpop composers produce songs for i7). Again the main in-game story/ anime are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (you might ended up crying in pain)
Otherwise you can watch many MVs/ real life concerts on their official yt channel called 大神万理 (yes they use a certain character’s name & avatar to manage all of their main media accounts)

I reccommend rotaeno, lanota, VOEZ, Deemo, Kalpa, and Muse dash for rating. Also, most rhythm game that is not Idol rhythm game will have some song locked and you need to pay to unlock it since most of them don't have gacha system that you can use real world money on (phigros is one of the rare 'all free of everything' since you can't buy anything in game with real world money) (Cytus 2's capso system doesn't generate money from randoming since you can't buy capsule, you need to earn them through playing, you will only buy to unlock capso system, which is one time)
