Apologies all I had a cold and battled Hayfever đźâđš Dont worry Alex will be back with a BIG video next week!!
Hope you're doing better now.
Nice video and results đ
Thats foxes digging about. Nothing to worry about but worth protecting seedlings with nets.
Ah thank you, nets going up soon!
So sorry you got vandalised. Good luck with your plantings.
Thank you Cynthia
Loving this series! If there's one suggestion that I'd make, if you're interested in constructive criticism (and if not, please ignore this!), regarding improving your video skills in front of the camera it would be to speak a little more loudly and/or clearly and/or slowly. Between the background noise of wind and traffic and so on (which you can't do anything about) and your naturally lower register speaking voice, it was difficult to hear you sometimes unless I turned up my volume, which was then much too loud during the mowing. It's not a big issue! Just one of those things that people who don't do a lot of public speaking don't think about. I know you were sick (I hope you're feeling better!) but I noticed it in your previous episodes as well so I thought I'd mention it. â„
Thanks for the feedback! I think I need to get a microphone really to attach to my shirt or something if I am going to keep making these videos in the future. I am not the most confident in front of the camera tbh! Thanks for watching! (Shane)
I'm impressed with the solar fountain. Didn't know such were available.
15 quid from Amazon!
@@acreslawncare Hi Alex & Shane..for others to know the Solar Fountain from Amazon starts at in USA Dollars $13.99 to $25.19
Is looking great !!!
Oh I hope you feel better soon!
Not sure what kind of animal but perhaps fox, rabbit, or groundhogs if they exist in your region? If you put one of those motion activated cameras up you might be able to find out who is inspecting the tilling! đ
I would like to think the weather there is similar to my region (northeast Ohio) but your planting season starts a bit later? This year I've planted strawberries, 2 kinds of cucumbers (one for pickling), a few varieties of peppers and tomatoes, parsley, Hamburg parsley, lovage, sorrel, and kale. Plant what you like and don't be afraid to experiment! Sometimes I've found that plants that are harvestable earlier to place them along the outer perimeter so you don't have to struggle to get to it. Also, if you try to grow a plant that is a climber/sprawler, to get a trellis or some kind of support structure to get the vines off the ground and in the air. It'll be easier to spot the vegetable/fruit and you'll have an easier time watering the soil and not the leaves.
We think rabbits, no ground hogs or racoon ls over here! Ah sounds like your having a good harvest, thanks for watching!
Looks fantastic.. great place to sit n relax. Really excited to see the fountain wake up.
Hi Shane ...đ Sorry You had a Cold, âčbut You did do a Different Type Job but the Cardboard, Should Work!!
Had No Clue what Animal Did That...but Learned in Comments a Rabbit!
I have 2 Rabbits but Black Type Weed Covering on the Ground & a Hole for Each Plant!! Plants Are Not Eaten!!
Love the Solar Fountain, I Don`t Have No Frogs or Pond Here!!
Shane Don`t Make Your Video`s Take Months...Update Often!! You did a Great Job!!đŻ
Take Care & have a Lovely Evening with Your Family!!†Love Barb from Central, Illinois USAâŁ
Thanks Barb appreciate it! Ah I also have 2 rabbits at home!
If you donât get a move on it you wonât be able to plant anything. Thatâs a great cultivator and the cardboard will be great as well. Iâd get a pond pump for aeration. Then you wonât have too much green stuff in there
Plug plants due to arrive this week. Hopefully just enough time!!
I AM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE ALLOTMENT! Seriously - I have a raised bed garden in my backyard and I love nothing more than watching other people talk about and work on their gardens too (unless it's talking to other folks about my own, and then they tell me about theirs!) :D
Ah lovely! Thanks for watching!
Rabbits for sure, you can see at the lower section where they have tried to borrow. If you're going to fence them make sure it's quite hi, if not make more of a cover as the little fluffy chappies will just get in. Chances are the pand cover has just dropped due to not been supported by the over growth anymore đ
Ah you are the first to say rabbits, some of the holes are quite narrow so it would make sense! Thanks for watching!
Yes bunnyâs
Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thanks Lynn!
Try baby carrot's, only say 4 inches long, radishes, squash as they grow train the vines in a circle ,takes up less space or they will wander all over the place.
Ah good tips thank you
May you heal from your cold quickly. Thank you for taking us with you to build your final boxes & tidy up everythingâŠitâs really looking good. If that digging was where I live in south central Texas it could be an armadillo, skunk or opossum. Kept waiting to watch you eat some of your yummy looking figs. Weâre in a severe drought so only got one (1!!) on our tree this year. đą canât wait to see updates as your plants grow and produce.
đđđđđ
Thank you Karen đ
Suspicious that it could be foxes, not sure since we are in different countries. Here in the USA, Oregon to be exact I'd be looking at Racoons first then perhaps foxes. They both would dig holes and be after any fish or just the water in your pond. Ask anyone else that has a plot if they are having trouble. You might try a animal repellent around your beds and pond. Best of luck, this is a fun project. Looking forward to more. Watching from Oregon USA. â€â€â€
Could be!! No raccoons here! Good tips thanks for watching!
Wow, it's looking great. I hope you're feeling better soon. đą Tell Alex hi! Have a good weekend â€â€â€â€
Thank you đ
Itâs looking AMAZING! Keep up the good work!â€
Thank you so much!!
It's looking good guys. Nice to have the little pond. Catch you next time xx đđđđ
Thank you đ
Thank you for sharing your process, very easy to do.đđđđđđđđ
You are so welcome!
Great work. Hope all grows well. đ
Thank you đ
We also have this at my allotment , can be foxâs , cats or sometimes badgers, if you cut some brambles down cut them into 12 inch strip and lay them on the bed and it deterred them from digging. đ€
Ah some good tips, thanks Nick
đđ€©
Nice watching you do your thing with garden. đđđ
Cheers John, thanks for watching!!
It looks great, please donât wait months for the next update. Hope you feel better!
Thank you Kathy and thanks for watching!
đâ€
Fantastic, coming on well. Like the small poly tunnels too. Hope you feel well soon.
Thank youuu and thanks for watching Lynn!
Hi, You dont sound very well..Hope you get over whatever it is...I think it might be rabbits, 1 of the holes looks like it might have been trying to make a new nest? Just a thought..You both are doing a great job.. Cant wait to see more. Stay Safe watching from Tasmania â€ïžđđđ€
I think it may be rabbits too! Thanks for watching Cheryl!
Hope your garden produces for you n Alex
Thank you Linda, sure hope so!

Expecting Bellagios lol! đšđŠâ€ïž
đ
Well done. You are on your way. đ Can't wait to see updates. đ
Thanks! đ
Probably a fox they like digging in my flower pots, good luck will be nice to see results in future videos â€â€. Pauline. Wiltshire
Couple possibly be! Hopefully some updates in the future when it's up and running!
Badgers!
Possibly!!
If you donât put up rabbit/and or other critter fencing you wonât have anything left to grow. The critters will send you a thank you note for inviting them to dinner.
Hopefully will have some nets up soon before we plant!
The allotment keepers, should organize and try to dig a shallow well and get a water source from it.
We do have a water source. Just easier to have the water butt's close by instead of walking to it!
Je vidÄt ĆŸe tomu chceĆĄ dĂĄt nÄjakĂœ rĂĄd. Co tam vlastnÄ chceĆĄ zasadit? JĂĄ si to pak pĆeloĆŸĂm. DÄkuji! đđżJana đżđđč
A bit of everything. At the moment pumpkins, squash, potatoes, strawberrys
It's looking great. Sorry your not well. If you can sprinkle a little human hair around that will keep the animals from coming back.
Ah good tips thank you!
Possibility of feral cats or dogs having a good dig in your new beds. Where i live, iguanas, possums and raccoons like to do stuff like that, but you don't have those in the UK. Hoping whoever or whatever is doing this doesn't attack your new plants.
Possibly cats, very rare for stay dogs to be about! Yeah same here, nets will be fitted I think before I plant anything! Thanks for watching Lelleith!
Fantastisch Good work lawn you the best te moostiun te planting te Compost backen te thans te video Top weekend friends đâïžâ đčđ»đ±đ§€đœ
Thank you đ
Rabbits or a badger maybe
Ah very possible!!
Maybe a ground hog if you have them wherever you are at
Oo we don't have ground hogs in the UK.
Rabbits
Quite possibly!!
Will you eventually clear all the overgrowth.
The overgrowth is the Plot next to mine, I have not seen the owner attend the plot since I got it.
@acreslawncare Sorry, I thought that was your property too. Maybe he'll sell so your garden may expand.
That would be lovely to have bigger space! Thanks for watching Shawn
Place hidden CCTV cameras, if you want to find the culprit... otherwise, l wish you well in your endeavours. Joh, Perth, Western Australia.
Good thinking! Thanks for watching Joh!
I think as this is fresh, loose soil some animal liked to dig in it. Your neighbours do not have been dug in, so it should be ok once you have something growing.
Ah possibly, maybe they will stop soon when they realise there is nothing in them!
@@acreslawncarewell could they burrow down and wait for you to plant the veggies and then like bugs bunny start eating them?
What's next door, a highway? Way too noisy.
Yeah next to a busy road I'm afriad đźâđš
@@acreslawncare I am sure you are making the best of it. Good going.
I would like to think that it was a animal !
I think may have been rabbits!
Opossum, Raccoon?đ€·đ»ââïž
Ooo I dont know if we even have them in England tbh!
Raccoons?
Ah I dont think we have Racoons in England!
Do you not have a microphone
Afraid not, will try get one if I do another video without Alex!
Boo hoo! This old lady misses Alex! Don't get me wrong. You're ok. But, I miss Alex!
I will be back, Shane helped me out this week by filming this! I will have a big video out next week!
Just an observation.
I think your paths are far too wide. Of course it depends on how much produce you want to grow but usually you only have pathways wide enough to accommodate a wheelbarrow.
Thanks for the advice! For now not aiming to grow too much.
Looks like a a good project. Look forward to seeing the progress. Frog pond đđ». Take care of yourself.
