Fender Blues Deluxe: Reverb Fix

- You could do this same thing with pretty much any reverb. Check the connections first, clean out the tank, and it's connections, and try it out. This apparantly is a common problem with these Fender's and I can see why, becuase of the type of RCA lead used. I found that pinching mine closed a bit helped and it seems to be rock solid the last couple of weeks.
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise"
Beautiful.
That was nice.
Throw an o-ring around the petals on the RCA plug. The extra tension that the o-ring adds will keep them from loosening up as the amp vibrates.
I just picked up a hot rod for cheap, and I think it was because the "reverb was broken" (I didn't ask; it was a don't ask questions kind of price). Followed your advice, and now I'm swimming in wet Fender reverb. Thanks!
Who would have thought the fix would be that simple. I enjoyed the Blackbird at the end.
Thanks a bunch. Helped me fix the reverb on my blues junior today. Having no reverb felt disgusting
Lol. I know what you mean. The reverb on my blues deluxe just quit. I had to stop playing and go take a shower.
Now I’m watching this video for insight as to what may be wrong.
The little tricks make all the difference. Everything sounded great. Guitar/voice very clear. Thanks🎸🤘🏻
Grat job, man. God I'm so obsessed w/ blackbird by a week, thanks for that final surprise.
Thanks man. I had thought the problem was a loose connection, it wasn’t. The problem was the springs sagging and touching the surface of the mounting card. So I’ve used some adhesive felt floor protectors to give it some extra height and hey presto! Reverrrrrb.
Hey man having the same issue, would you mind going into a bit more detail about how you did this?
@@nottezxtake the reverb unit out of the amp, remove it from the bag and turn it over so you can see the springs. On each corner you need to add some sort of spacer to give the springs room to vibrate without brushing against the floor of the unit. I used a four small circular felt floor protectors, you can use more than that to give the additional height you need. I don’t think there is any need to put the reverb unit back into the bag though when reinstalling.
This is proof that when in doubt, give it a good chooch, cause a good chooch makes all the difference, chooch it a bigga time. Woodeso guitar mods is where it's at, Blackbird is an awesome Beatles song. Good video
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your vids, I learn something new each time and your honest and real opinions and approach to music and being involved in guitar craft is awesome.
I got an Ashbury Strat Clonecaster for free a month ago and I very recently got it to work. I replaced the volume pot that was fucked, bought a new tremolo arm and saddle, bought a set of new knobs for the pots and adjusted the saddles to lower the action. Plays great acoustically and plugged into an amp. 60$ to fix.
I'm currently saving up for a Vox Pathfinder 10 , great little practice amp from what I've seen and heard.
glad you got that fixed! nice outro playing!
I have the feeling that soon you'll be touring as a Tech with some Band Nelson !!! great work! it's good to know that now you're doing much more electronics stuff. you are a big school for us the guitar nerds! cheers from Honduras!
Love the blues Jr with the Jensen speaker!
Good vid and a nice bit of Blackbird too. 🤘🏻
Good job! I like that your slowly transitioning into tube amp repair ;-)
The skills are definitely on the up Nelson (-:
Nice job on blackbird
Thanks for the vid, fixed the hum on my reverb!
You should try those two tanks in a series. :)
This worked!
Same dam shit happened to my amp. This is a helpful video
THANK YOU! 🤘🎸🍷
Finally... a clean sound from this clown;-)
LOL! Way to keep after it until it submits!
Why remove the tank? you can unplug and pinch the plugs in 20 seconds without removing anything at all.
I have a Blues Junior III that seems to be having some kind of grounding issue, based on the fact that there is constantly a loud buzz that only goes away when I press a piece of metal on the guitar or the amp. I made sure all of the grounding was good on the guitar end of things, and even got a new cable, but I am still getting a lot of buzz and hum. Is there a chance that the loose grounding is coming from the plugs you went over in this video? Are there other more common causes when it comes to loose grounding with the Blues Junior III amps? Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
What happens if you leave the bag off?
So 'l' der. I've noticed that some Americans don't pronounce the "L" in Solder.
Felix Burke all Americans
Canadians as well eh. Sodder that thing on there, she'll go.
is that the Peavey guitar that Richard brought in? sounds great.
It's my ES339;-)
Why weren't those grommet feet there in the first place?
I have. An old Gibson amp from the 60s. If I slam the amp on the floor I hear the tank but nothing coming through the signal chain. Any thoughts?
Saggy springs I expect. They are making contact with the surface below them which stopping the effect. Add some spacers to make the tank ride higher.
I have the same thing going on with my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Nice socks !! :-) ;-)
a little Blackbird I see
First
You played blackbird WRONG
and I'm not talking about your technique, you played the actual wrong notes.
Then all these idiots commenting "wow beautiful outro man" lol sounded terrible
why would anyone be obligated to play anything the same way?
Jerk much?
