  • This video shows how to diagnose and repair a Honda GX340 engine installed on a 3,200psi pressure washer, with an Annovi Reverberi (AR)pump, that's been sitting unused and won't start.
I show how to remove, disassemble, and completely clean, by hand, the GX340 carburetor.
    Helpful part numbers:
    Spark plug:
    -NGK BPR5ES or BPR6ES
-Denso W16EPRU or W20EPRU (Denso is better choice for a Honda engine)
    Air filter:
    17210-ZE3-010 or 17210-ZE3-505
    Carburetor base gasket:
    16221-ZE3-800

I watch this video twice and I'll say it again this is probably the best GX video on the internet by far especially when it comes to carburetion or fuel systems

I've been working on GX engines for a long time but you made one of the most simple videos for the first timer great job

I want to second @vickilund7206 complement, your thorough small engine repair videos are some of the best on CZcams. I own a Honda GX160 pressure washer and hopefully I won't have to perform a carburetor rebuild this spring. You saved my you know what with my Shindaiwa C242 brush cutter. I went through everything and gave up and bought a Echo 3020T trimmer. Your repair video replacing the ignition coil fixed the problem. I wasn't aware of ignition timing issues with coils that have spark until I ran into your video. Bravo and thank you. BTW, I'm using the C242 and the new 3020T is collecting dust in the garage.

I don't know what to say, and "Thank You" doesn't seem enough. I really appreciate you and others like @vickilund7206 leaving comments like this. I'm so happy to hear that videos are helpful and that people are able to use them to fix their own equipment.
Honda GX160 engine has a smaller version of the carburetor you see in this video, so it's more susceptible to poor operation due to ethanol fuel related corrosion. Cleaning it will be an identical process. If put SeaFoam in the fuel tank, year round, you'll prevent carburetor issues. As-is, you can use the angled bolt on the bowl, to drain the fuel that's in the carburetor, leaving the bowl 95% empty. You can then put Seafoam in the fuel tank, open the fuel valve, and let that "enhanced" mixture flow into the bowl.

So glad you were able to get it running again. Very common to see the gaskets on either side of the carburetor install wrong, out of order, etc. Nice save!
