So many people didn't like this movie because the wolves weren't behaving realistically, but the wolves are really just there to drive this brilliant story of survival, the will to live, the spirit of man, the grey area between life and death. Such a great, underrated movie.
I see a lot of people complaining about the wolves being the villains. I honestly don't think this showed wolves as villains, I think they were just a symbol of death. This wasn't an action movie about fighting wolves, it was about men choosing how they would meet their end. The wolves were just a symbol of death closing in. At least that's how I saw it.

The trailer doesn't do this movie justice. It is a a phenomenal and Liam Neesons performance is great. A bunch of hard ass oil riggers get stranded after a plane crash and slowly learn that a life full of fighting and hardship didn't prepare them for this. They must now venture "once more into the fray, until the last good fight they will ever know." The fight to stay alive.

I saw this in the theaters years ago. My daughter and cousin fell asleep in the theater and we were the only ones there. . It got terrible reviews but I loved it. Re-watching in 2022. Great night.

Lars Mc Murray Agreed, a very powerful and emotionally compelling movie. For me, I was left empty and down after watching it. Liam’s best movie in my personal experience.
Amine Elhaouch agreed, wolves do equal death in the real world, especially if it’s been a hard winter, they are hungry and you are nearing their Den. A hungry wolf, that thinks you are a threat, would act in this aggressive manner

I love this movie, it is my favorite survival film of all time. Liam Neeson is one of my favorite actors. Out of a lot of horror or physiological thrillers I've watched, The Grey is the only movie that ever gave me anxiety.
Misleading trailer. The movie though is very good and melancholic. Great performances by the actors.

Gorgeous scenery in Vancouver and British Columbia (doubling as Alaska). It is also intriguing and easy to watch many times. One can't blame the wolves for being hungry too like the men were. Good acting. Neeson is always excellent.

My fear of wolves is unexplainable, I watched this move at like 2 am without knowing anything about it. I just saw Liam Neeson and said let's go!
It's worth the watch, but if your worst fear is wolves, just know that you'll get nightmares from this masterpiece for many nights to come. ; )

After the plane crash, they are all already dead. Their struggle to survive is their Purgatory, they all leave it when it's time for them to go.

Wow. I love The Grey and I thought the ending of the movie was fantastic and perfect. I also thought that all the people criticising the ending were moronic and didn't get the message the movie was trying to portray. BUT, I had never seen The Grey trailer before. This trailer is very misleading and clearly hints at a fight between Neeson and the Alpha Wolf that never happens (or at least is never shown). I finally understand why so many people felt ripped off by the ending. Especially if they had seen this outrageous trailer. I still think the ending is brilliant but maybe I would have felt differently if I had seen this trailer beforehand.
Abhinav Patel according to the director the fight scene intended at the end would have been heavily CGI and he felt the movie already reached its emotional climax and it would have taken away from it. I kinda agree with his thinking. However the marketing team should have made the cut to avoid misleading

I watched this movie when I was a teenager and I had nightmares for months. I have ONLY watched it once and it seemed like a good movie at the time. Yes there are a lot of life lessons in this but it is truly a horror film. Anyone saying wolves aren’t known to attack humans are crazy. It’s a wolf, it’s a wild animal and it’s a predator. If you’re in it’s territory or it’s hungry it could attack. Great acting yes! This can be viewed as gruesome to some people
Seen this trailer before too. Another great one with Liam Nesson once again. Awesome! As far as the storyline is concerned, I honestly would be terrified if a wolf came after me.
I just wish we could've witnessed the actual fight...

RoboWolf! LOL. My first time watching and it was better than I expected actually. I actually had a big white Arctic wolfhound doggie named Arian, beautiful animal, turned heads everywhere, lived from 84-98, just an awesome animal.

Liam Neeson made you feel his character.
From beginning to the very end.
I do wish the ending was a bit more well...... happy...
But with the circumstances, the rough winter weather, and how cruel the wolves were portrayed in this specific film. ( they simply wouldn't leave the fellas alone )

In most cases,yes, not every case. Wild animals are unpredictable, obviously.
Correct. Wolves are not mindless killing/eating machines. People are rarely attacked. Animals warn people and other animals to go away before they start physically threatening.
