***** it isn't remotely bad but just lame actually because it could be better but Storm has zero personality in the movies. Her personality was better in the Fox cartoon.
Reginald Marshall she had decent line and was handled better in X2, but the accent should have been handled better, blue contacts optional but doesn't make or break the character

I thought it was a good line. It was sassy, and it was really one of the few moments in the X-men films that we saw a glimpse of Storm's personality. It really sucks that people blame Halle for X film's Storm. She is just an actor, and if they give her basic material, she can only deliver basic scenes. Storm from the comics and old tv shows was powerful, but she was still a "secondary character." Of course, in the comics, she can do more and be powerful, but when you're doing film, you have to draw a line between main character and secondary cast. If they would have played Storm as powerful as she is, it would have distracted from main star being powerful. In X1, it was all about the badass Wolverine. And so, to make him more powerful, all the other x-men were powered down. All though I love Wolverine and he is kick ass and strong, his powers are pretty basic when compared to the other X-men. If they would have had a full powered Scott, Jean, and Storm doing massive attacks all throughout the film, they would have overshadowed those claws. Which is why X2 and dare I say X3 are much better than the first film. They were able to balance scales in power more.
I hope people were voting down due to video quality. This scene is cool as hell!

It's the delivery that makes it so absolutely terrible. It was written by Joss Whedon and I can picture it working as a Buffy line but the way Berry played Storm was just completely wrong for that line.
Noadi's Art Original Jewelry & Sculpture correct. Buffy (Sarah) would have delivered the line in a sassy, funny way.
Then she would have smiled, turned around, walk away and didn't look back while the lightning grilled him to ashes.

Joss Whedon is responsible for this line. He owes Storm an apology. Here's Black Widow's Avengers 2 line. "You know what happens to a robot when it is shot with a gun, the same thing that happens to everything else".
The line was originally 'it croaks'.
The line was delivered incorrectly according to Whedon. It was supposed to be much more causal and not as strident. It was supposed to go like this:
"Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets hit by lightning?" Then after the electrocution, "Ah ... Pretty much the same thing that happens to everything else."
This sounds much more Whedon-like, with his quips.

Lewis Herd Joss Smokin' Whedon is awesome. Serenity only lost the movie studio, a few million dollars. LOL. Goyer's far superior, in my humble opinion. And he was 100% correct about Martian Manhunter. Anybody that has heard of that character, is indeed a virgin nerd.........including myself.

I've only ever witnessed very strong winds once, and it nearly blew me away... I love the wind and I'd love to re-live the power of the rushing winds, pushing me back and blowing me away.

This scene was epic. Yeah, the line at the end was HORRIBLE but the scene itself was great and Storm looked bad-ass.

Toad complains upon failing to kill Storm, "Don't you people ever die?" This is an allusion to the X-Men comics recurring gimmick, of having a character die, and then be brought back to life by supernatural or scientific means, which has been done for nearly every main character in the series.

in real life many people have been struck by lightning and survived,just like many characters have survived storm's lightnings,so it could also mean that everyone struck by lightning gets electrocuted.

This was actually a screwup by the director, according to writer Joss Whedon. Storm asks, "Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by lightning?" Toad's supposed to get struck, then Storm shrugs and says "the same thing that happens to everything else." He thinks the way this was shot totally ruined the moment.
@Hattaru With a few exceptions, I think the casting was actually spot on for most of them. Rogue was messed up from the beginning. In the comics, she's about the same age as Cyclops and Jean. Why is there like a 15 year difference here? Makes no sense. The movies weren't that great, but they weren't completely horrible. James Marsden, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Rebecca Romijn, Halle Berry, Ian Mc Kellen, Famke Janssen. I don't think I can imagine anyone else doing their parts better.

It's not that we "didn't get the line". It's perfectly clear what she was saying so that's not the point. The point is that it was a CHEESY, INFANTILE and RIDICULOUS line.

@ssp1070 Cyclops was in character,he just didnt get enough screen time due to none other than Hugh jackman,Rogue was..i have mixed feeling on her portrayal. Storm wasn't really weak,she took Sabertooth through a wall,fried Toad..but i agree down played her fighting abilities.

Yeah He'd get fried as he is touching something that is grounded therefore part of a complete circuit. The reason birds dont get messed up is because the wire is separated from the wooden pole, which is grounded. If a bid were to touch the pole and the wire at the same time it would get shocked the same way you see toad here getting smoked.
