Nice to see folks following the proper break-in procedure for new cylinders and rings. This should make for a more reliable and enjoyable ownership experience. Congrats.

For anyone that wants to know, the place he took the boat out is in Holiday Park Everglades which is located in Florida.

Need a jack plate and trim that motor out a little bit to get some mph out of that checkmate, I had a 19' cm with a black max 250, had a few different props but the jack plate up and the 250 trimmed out throwing 100' of rooster tail, I was running close to 90 mph but that's about the time it would really start chinewalkin and I would have to back out of it. Loved that boat tho

5:26 hard cut. Just perfect if or if not by design..I know you’re happy boat vibes with the checkmate getting back up. Ray from Addiction Marine is super confident and I sense a true master at his craft. Nice vid!

You need some setback on that motor. 10” setback is perfect on the Starflite. Get a Bob’s Action series hydraulic Jack plate.

Don't be afraid to post mistakes even if catastrophic. It makes the rebuilt content that hopefully can pay for the rebuilt. A lot of content creators show the fun, the headaches and the fixes. Speed boats are no different then race cars... Shit happens. Dumb mistakes or pushing the limits. Show the carnage show the rebuild. Maybe it can help us for future experience and knowledge.

I know you don't like my comments, but is what it is, you blew up your motor, because you ran it up too high with no nose cone, umm your motor is a 250, not a mercury racing 300xs, BIG difference. Kinda copyright infringement on your logo from Mercury Racing isn't it??
Your videos are great I watch every one, your honest, and awesome content, just keeping it real bro..Look forward to more videos!!!

Me too. 1987 Sportfire with a Merc 135 outboard. 63 mph gps. Fun boat but it did slide some on sharp turns. Raising the motor two holes really helped stopping the chine walking.

Back in the 1970s we were trying new stuff like speed master lower units ,cleaver props were still a new thing .Motors only had to meet cubic inch spec in the class we were running so carbs were re jetted the bore on engine block was oversized that’s how we achieved 72 mph get educated be say I’m full shit!
