- I built and painted an entire tomb kings battalion to kick start my tomb kings army in anticipation of the upcoming Warhammer The Old World release. I attempted to recreate the classic 'eavy metal box art in an efficient way that could be applied across the whole force!

Oh snap, top deck games in nj, that’s exactly where I get a ton of my stuff as well. Oddly enough I just blew the dust off my Tomb kings after a decade. Soon as GW dropped that article l was literally painting my casket of souls when I stumbled onto this video.

This brought back so many memories, had an Undead army back in the day. Looking at the date of this video, around the same time I took the plastic of an Old World Nagash box (the clown). Slowly getting back into painting so I am watching everything I can find on the subject to relearn the things I have forgotten and pick up new knowledge. Great video sir! Subscribed.

I re-watched The Mummy films a few weeks ago, absolutely great films and its heart warming to see Brendan Fraser making a comeback after his many struggles.
Dude it makes me so happy for him! I was a huge fan of his growing up and I'm excited for his new roles! Also square bases are so much fun, it frames the model in a completely different way, I mean it's obvious, but it's also really cool.

I missed out on WFB Tomb Kings in its heyday. To make up for it, I scoured eBay and local buy & sells to collect a TON of Tomb Kings during the first wave of the pandemic (two sealed battalion boxes, 5-6 sealed troop boxes, and about 10 various special units such as the catapult and Casket of Souls). I've been poking away at it between 40K and Cursed City models.
Sick!!! I have a bunch as well, hopefully it’ll al be finished before the old world drops haha. Also, speaking of cursed city I was kind of thinking about kitbashing the ulfrenwartch into tomb guard. Haven’t decided if it’s worth doing or not but it could turn out dope.

Aww man, original Tomb Kings Batallion. I am very jealous that you have this mate, I was silly enough to hold off on buying it and the Britonnian Batallion box for years and now they are no more :(. I kick myself for not grabbing it now, and prices are so expensive on eBay.
Yeah they are wild, but maybe they'll release something new for them for the old world! Tomb Kings Vs Bretonia starter set or something, ;)

Man, I remember standing in my FLGS back in the days and doubting between going FB or 40K and the big draw for me were these Tomb Kings :-D
I did go with Space Marines in the end because chainswords just have this amazing draw for a 15yo but the Tomb Kings almost pushed me the other way :-D

Oh gosh, i was 19 or 20 playing magic and a friend of mine got into those pirate card games. I remember him cracking open packs to get new ships lol
I was hyper focused on magic at the time and wish now id gotten into 40k. The store i went to had a display for warhammers space fleet game that always caught my eye.

Yes they looked cool but alas thats my younger days. As you postulated about the models, ive heard that old models will be usable and after my currwnt space wolves project im debating finishing my high elves, or hunting bretonians nib kits and painting them up.
Either way, im looking forward to warhammer old world, fantasy battles was one of those, watched from afar while playing 40k and it eventually sucked me in as a fun system to play.
The Vallejo Mecha colours are so damn underrated

@@brandonchaplin9782 yeah they’re great for airbrushing, but I’ve been using mecha primer as my default primer for like a year now, I don’t see any reason to use anything else it’s amazing!
@@ThisMiniSucks oh ok, i'm still stuck on Stynylrez primers.do have a gray vallejo one somewhere but not all the base line primers seem to want to still. Will definitely get a couple of the Mecha primers when I can

Absolutely love the video, just finding the music a bit tough when trying to listen to your advice.
I started this hobby last December because my Gf bought me a Warhammer 40k Starter Set (necrons vs Spacemarines). I wondered though as to why there is so "little" to the box for the price yopu pay. I kinda accepted it as one of those modern times things where you just pay more for less stuff. I am quite astound though because you got a lot out of this box. Lets hope that GW returns to the old ways hahahaha
