DIY LED Sign | Laser Cut Acrylic LED Sign | UV-Print LED Sign

  • This week we're combining many different materials and techniques to make this amazing Laser Cut and UV Printed LED Sign using our Trotec Speedy 400 laser cutting machine.
    We've used our laser-friendly polyethylene foam as backing for the sign and where we place our LED lights. We've UV printed a picture of the moon using our Mimaki UV printer. We then inlaid and kiss-cut 5 different acrylics together and assembled.

    Laser: Trotec Speedy 400, 100w
    PE Foam (CO2 cut): power 65, speed 0.43, 20000hz, z-offset +0.2
    TroGlass Clear 3mm (CO2 cut): power 100, speed 1
    TroGlass LED White Matte (CO2 Cut): power 100, speed 0.9
    ​TroGlass Gloss (fluorescent, satin)(CO2 Cut): power 100, speed 0.9
    All Acrylic Engraving: power 80, speed 100
    UV Printing Settings:
    UV Printer: Mimaki UJF-6042 MKII
    Coloured layer
    Media: UV-PET v3.5
    Resolution: 1200x1200 VD
    Special Plate (White Behind):
    White ink: 15%
    Quality Color Adjust for White Layer:
    Whole Density: -50%

      @@TrotecLaserCanada 'DIY' is the antithesis of industrial grade equipment. It's implying that these are hobby-level machines, which of course isn't true :p
