Beautiful stages, and the 2nd one had me think of a throwback to Delta except we're dealing with a Bydo-Infested Ship. A pity there's no new boss themes, but the theme in the Bydo Factory (Stage 4) is quite funky :P The Machine Base boss strongly reminded me of also previous R-Types but with a hint of Gradius this time too!
Yes, I felt exactly the same when I saw stage 2 as well. As for the bosses, I loved the design of the stage 1 boss but really would like Granzella to make big strong cool machine bosses.
I love the soundtrack at the end..Reminded of when I played Macross from PS1 w Minmei singing..It should've been at the last stage while fighting the boss..I can't wait for mines on April 25 on my big screen 85 inch TV..Thanks for posting

I kinda wish they used the full vocal version of "Monochrome" instead of the instrumental version, but that's okay. If anything, at least it's a definite change of pace after hearing the "doom and gloom" feel of R-Type Delta's final stage music.
R-Type did I first played on C64 in my younger days, when I was 17 years old and in 1994, when I was 23 and had then a Amiga 500 I played R-Type from that machine. I did also played R-Type from Arcade, when visiting a game house/aparment. Before I had Mame32 in mine previous Laptop and PC, with lots of game and R-Type 1 and 2 was some of the game I played there, but also Gradius I, II etc. I have also had SNES with lots of games in my previous PC/Laptop playing R-Type III etc. PSX or PS1 as emulator in my previous PCs/Laptops I have had also before playing R-Type Delta and other games. On my still PS3 I have Gradius V, R-Type Dimensions, Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer and Söldner-X: Finale Prototype. I have not a PS4 or PS5, but I want to by one of these Game console one day to play these new R-Type games ☺ Before I had PS2 emulator in one of my previous PC and Laptop and there I played R-Type Finale ☺ I though R-Type Finale 2 from 2021 was the very last R-Type and no new R-Type Finale should be made. Then I hope the peoples behind the game Gradious can develope Gradious VI ☺ Because I still have Gradious V in my PS3 ☺
Many of the games mentioned reminded me of great time of my childhood. I'm a big fan of Gradius, Darius, Thunder Force, and R-TYPE and had great time playing R-TYPE, Gradius IV, Darius Gaiden, and G Darius at the video arcade. I loved to play shmups on consoles such as Super R-TYPE on SNES, Thunder Force V on Sega Saturn, R-TYPE DELTA, and Gradius V on PS2 which could play PS1 games too. Choosing from PS4 or PS5, I would definitely recommend PS5 since more companies start making games PS5 exclusive including R-TYPE FINAL 3 EVOLVED and you can play PS4 games with PS5 as well. I really hope KONAMI will make Gradius VI in the future. Gradius is one of the best shmups of all time.
Honestly I'm glad I didn't buy a PS5 for that. I was actually hoping that the Evolved campaign would be a bit more canonical than that. It just doesn't feel complete. I doesn't even feel like I've destroyed any kind of Bydo core at the end, just some weird looking branch. Classic R-Type 3 was done perfectly, it had some cool final stages and a really "final" looking Bydo core
I agree. I don't regret buying 3 Evolved but cannot recommend ppl to by PS5 for this since Granzella looks like they gave up making any more exclusive contents for PS5. As for the Boss design, I also feel they are not good at making cool looking bosses like they were before. But I'm still a fan of shmap R-TYPE series and will keep playing whenever they get any further updates. Please feel free to come and check what we have here.

I think the issue is just, it is one of the few PS5 exclusives and I wouldn't spend over 500€ just for that. If it had a PC release i'd buy it instantly. Maybe they will in the future. Or maybe a Final 4 will come. I know they all want to make R-Type episodical, without any hope of an Ending. But I think R-Type deserves some kind of canonical ending.
Was actually kinda interesting having the first few areas look similar is that it feels like your progressing rather than just randomly appearing someplace else. Then you just randomly show up in gear world and then the ending for the tactics human campaign.
R-Tyoe Final 2/3 in general is bland and uninspiring IMO, and Granzella made some dumb decisions about certain aspects of the game. The generic music, the boss designs, the disconnected-ness of everything... I'll admit when it first came out I liked it and it was fun, but then I began comparing it with PSX Final and I realized how much more compelling and even atmospheric PSX Final was, and hope they remake it. I want the old Irem back.

Wish this had the infinite lives, local 2 player and saving between levels from r-type dimensions. Museum and artbook interview/soundtrack were nice, though title is confusing loading up rtype final 2 but it does include that at least.
I really want invincible mode too. It would help me practice a lot easier. Since R-TYPE series have a lot of mysteries, interview sounds intriguing which might answer the questions that players have had for decades.
@roxy8977 oh sure lol Kujo wanted memorization of complete stages as said in the book. But yeah there's a lot of minutiae to discern shoot 'em ups. I even like flewfie's adventures for being 2 player, having a simple collectible card game and use UFO tractor beams while letting me save between levels.

Now see I imported R-Type Tactics II long ago for PSP and beat it but I don't know what the human side ending meant because I don't know Japanese (though I wish I knew how with my limited brain) but I always was curious about it and now I see that ending is also here in Final 3. I really can hardly wait for R-Type Cosmos because everything will be translated and hopefully will tell me what happened here because I definitely remember those insects in the Human ending and the Bydo final mission of Tactics II. What ARE they? I'm hoping Cosmos will provide answers.

There are more companies making games that are PS5 exclusive so I think it’s good idea to buy PS5 for R-TYPE FINAL 3 EVOLVED or other games that will be released in the future. I’ve never played Tactics franchise but Final 3 would be even more interesting if you have experience playing Tactics I and II since ideas of so many ships and stages are imported from them. As for the story of Tactics, there are full of mysteries among players in Japan too even they could read the texts. Since Cosmos can be played in various languages I’m sure you’ll find out more about the stories and I hope those mysteries will be explained as well.
There is an english fanmade patch done since 2017 for R-Type Tactics II (Command II, in the west), but of course, you need to custom firmware your PSP, in order to play it, I also have all the spoils collected, and their DLCs (for DLCs, I downloaded them since 2019), as well, but a place like this, is not allowed now in days, to post external download links, unless ai request a youtube user, so it can be posted via the description of an video 😂. Man, even with a fan translation, after accomplish the game with the human fraction (the first 2 chapters), the developers, hate good/rewarding endings, and they decided to give us a bad ending, by having "Amber Eye", the final boss, turn us into "bydo", and then being swallow ua, while "Amber Eye" was collapsing, sending us into somewhere unknown area , while the first stage in the Bydo fraction, we woke up in an empty area with a tiny sparkling star, just like stage 6.1, from R-Type Final, for the ps2, Beautiful Erasure. I still don't get it, sorry 😂, silly me...

The only thing they announced at the moment is the release date of other regions will be anounced separately. As for the PS4, switch, and steam updates, they are waiting for the result of the censor but PS4 will come out first and other platforms will be later than PS4.
Not really strong but depends on which enemy come out. When the the middle-sized enemies that spawn lot's of bydo come out, that would be a bit hard to deal with.
Previous R-TYPE series gave us great surprises every time they released. I understand 3 evolved is not that much. A big change making this game distinct would be a good idea. I hope they make not only new stages and ships but also something different in the future updates.
Stage 1 has a Darius vibe to it... Even the music has a Zunzata feel to it 😊

確かに、長い敵が水面から出てきたりボスの登場の仕方とかも似てますね
PS5版だけに永久完全独占というのが怒るのではなく、後続作の特定永久完全独占に対する批判がごく少数だったことが寂しい。
機体提供は同じだろうが、実際は機体もPS5版専用提供という噂に、すでにDLCステージPS5版専用提供は確定しているため、やはりPS5を購入するしかないようだ。
最初からプレイステーション用の作品だったら。
ただでさえPS5が比較的購入しやすくなったのはごく最近な上に本体の価格もお高いので、プレイできないという意見もよく聞きます。
後続作に関しては、知らない人も多い事も予想されるので、発売されてから「これもPS5独占かよ」といった声が出てくるかもしれませんね。
表向きの理由はPS5にしか表現できないからとされていますが、小さな会社でSteamや次世代XBOXといった他CSにまわす人手や資金面にも苦労されているのかも。
より多くの人にプレイしてもらうのはゲーム会社にとっての利益にも繋がるので、他CSや非次世代機のプレイヤーにもプレイできる環境もぜひ検討していただきたいです。

うーん、グラフィックには進化を感じるけど歯車ステージとか、かなり微妙。最終ステージはキレイなBGMと相まって見れてたけど、ラスボスはどう見ても木の枝。初代で見せてくれた度肝を抜かれたボスデザインの数々どこいった。
確かに。歯車ステージの特にボスはテクスチャ貼ってないって言われても信じるかもしれません。。
初代や２のボスの中には子供が見たら普通にかっこいいボスだけど大人が見たらすごくエロいみたいなところを突く所に狂気を感じたので、
今作ではさらに攻めの姿勢で行って欲しいですね。
