I think, in all fairness, that double standard exists because it's expected that a guy has the power in that situation. I.e. a man can fend off a woman but a woman might not be able to protect herself from a big guy and therefore feel vulnerable towards such behavior.

I still accomplished my original goals. But decades after I started them.

Because based on his backstory at that point in the show, he had never kissed a girl before. Even after Beverly plants one on him, he later asserts to Penny he's never kissed anyone because in this situation he didn't consent to it or return it.

If you’re here to rant about how horrible the last 4 seasons of this show were - get over it. Things happen, writers change, actors and their scheduling availability change, and there are many factors that come into play that are unable to create your ideal/perfect ending. Just appreciate the show for what it is and move on, and hope that some time in the future, they reboot this show to new standards and continue the stories. Will Sheldon have gotten over his germ-phobia now that he’s a father? Will his child Leonard be just as socially awkward as him? What about Leonard and Penny’s baby? Will everybody meet Stuart at that designated spot they all agreed to meet at? Will Raj wind up back with any of his ex-girlfriends?
Writers never changed. I’m reading the book on TBBT with interviews with everyone. The same writers had brilliant minds.
Also with how Jim had to leave the show I bet it was harder to try to finish it when they wanted it to go a bit more farther.
I hope they don't reboot it, the original cast had magic, it's not guaranteed the new cast would have the same magic or better
My only real complaint/disappointment lies solely on the sad fact that this show had its end right before Covid took the world by storm.
Let’s be real, who wouldn’t have wanted to see Sheldon losing all pretense of sanity and the rest of the character’s state of life in midst of it all?
My rant is, it should have finished about s6, and with a touch of effort, they could have written leonard and Penny to be a solid loving couple.
