Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm trying something different in the SU27 Flanker against the F15 Eagle flown by Grouch (Thanks so much buddy) in a BVR (Beyond Visual Range) fight, Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

I like how you come up with weird strategies to overcome overwhelming odds.
That's called gaming.
I love the tactics of playing stealth against a F-15 with the Flanker despite its huge RCS, it's pretty fun to watch.
How quickly that F-15 kept recommitting was scary
Shows how groundbreaking the development of fox 3s are compared to the limited fox 1s
With the flanker I realy go all in and try to evade those long AMRAAMs without giving up my lock on the fox1, usualy works for those early missiles, as I get close I start to evade for real but I always mix the long range fox2 in with the radar fox 1, because of how stealthy they are try to catch the NATO fighter offguard while he recomits because he wont get the warning on the fox 2. the guy in the f15 had the right idea assuming you launched a fox 2. in the base flanker you realy need the enemy to make a mistake for you to win
Those BVR videos are much more interesting than dogfights with all those tactics we see. Keep going!

Yeah, that 2nd time you def finally deep enough behind the mountains you became a ghost-
and once you dissapeared from his scree radar and the AWACS- he didn't know if you were dead, or where you were
surprised at those long range fox 2- misses, but the sun was nearby, so eh
Once again, Longshot is a sneaky infrared ghost deep behind mountain cliffs, and defeats a human player!(minus that first round where i don't think you were behind cover enough to hide from radar/missile radar/awacs)
This was good- I LOVE these sneaky infrared mountain-ghost Longshot vids.
Seriously, with deep enough mountain cover(and actually using them well), you COULD DEF take out raptors/felons/J20s with these advanced tactics, and sneak up on THEM even. I wish the US had long range Fox 2's, lol- since very few planes have [infrared] warning sensors that would let them know it's incoming, as opposed to RWRs only for letting them know they;re about to be whacked
Congrats Longshot! Soon 100k, and beyond. Your content is always engaging and fun to watch. I would love to see a BVR engagement between an F-22 and another jet/country. I feel as though with AWACS on both sides and whatever else available, the Raptor can always take the cake. Of course it comes out to more than just the plane, but still. With stealth and awareness it seems hard to beat or get beat depending on which side you are on. Regardless, great vid. I can't wait to see what the future holds :)

I heard some countries actually use the r27s only and not the r77 because they're cheaper and have enough range.
On the other hand they also probably are more manoeuvreable.
And of course no rwr warning
If Growling Sidewinder and LONGSHOT had a baby, it would have thrust vectoring and Aim120's.
is a tacview debrief at the end of the video a possibility? GS used to do that but i guess it wasn't worth the time for the kinds of straightforward BVRs he was doing
it seems like it would be a valuable addition to these "damage the opponent's situational awareness" scenarios you've been doing lately

When I'm in the flanker on gs server and a bandit is within 10 km, And I know he's hot on me, I just get the hell out of BVR mode before he gets too close, get into vertical scan and find the nearest a valley/mountain to turn into him or to hide my self changing direction, so he thinks I'm coming out on the other side. At least when playing against other people online, if they're within 10 km and* they know of my presence, BVR mode usually just gets me killed.
Anyway, love the flanker stuff, keep it coming!

This is a pretty realistic setup, as the R-27EA was never really serviced in meaningful numbers, and the R-77 still isn’t common to this day. So in the 90’s and 2000’s this was how your typical arial engagement went down.
Thoroughly enjoy how you are always trying new strategies and angles in your engagements.
Would be cool to see this with the m2000 as it has no choice but to use this strategy

Nice video Longshot - Fox1 are not good when fighting someone with Fox3s. I am guessing the Su27/Mig29 was a much more potent threat back in the late 1980s when NATO/USA were still using Aim7s,
To be fair, although not as accurate or sneaky as amraams, r27er outranges 120 quite a lot.
If he wanted to put him defensive, he didn't need to wait so long.
And i have feeling that longshot or GS dont really know how to play su27, i think he fired fired that et missile with no lock only on launch override. Yesterday i saw GS playing with 27 and he was wondering why he cant see target at the radar thats cca 100-150km...when he didn't even set the range correctly instead of the default 10km...bruh.

I like R-27ER's, even though they are Fox-1. It makes you learn to use your Flanker youll get blasted a lot but youll start to get where you can beat the first missile and hit them in the face with one and its satisfying.
I wish there was a Sukhoi Su-37 and Mikoyan Gurevich MIG-35 mod for DCS, they are kind of more modernized versions of those aircrafts, better maneuverability, better avionics, better ECM, better BVR, and better dogfight capabilities
Su-37 is airshow only su-35
@sule.A Su-37 was a prototype which was planned to have better avionics than the Su-35, who was developed from the Su-27M, which was developed in 1987, but the project got lost after the fall of the *greatest union and society that ever existed in the planet earth*

Man, did you fire that fox2 without proper lock with launch override and expect it to hit anyone?
SU27 can keep lock up to almost 90dgr if you keep antenna dot to the corners, so there was a lot of unnecessary steps if you wanted to keep him defensive.

This is why I don't go on growing sidewinder server anymore.. I only use the flanker and with aim 120 fired from miles away I spend most my time going cold then to be hit. Flankers with only fox 2 is just to hard against aim120. I wish growling sidewinder would make it so flankers had a decent fox 3
