Two of my favorite guys on one show. Trevor is amazing! I listed to his book on Audible and it was a fantastic story in his own voice. I highly recommend listening to the book. I have even more admiration for him after listening to his story!

Zero. 0 Indian Politics is boring. And it's a lot better for my mental health to talk and hear about policies which have no immediate effect on me. The government here is filled with scandal and unlike the US , people always find a way around their wrongdoings , ie: they face no real consequences, so its disheartening to watch this play out..

Trevor Noah *needs* to be on network TV instead of cable: he doesn't hold punches back, he tells it like it is regardless of what's going on with either party, and he does it all with fresh, slick, and sharp humor - he really needs the broader audience of the network landscape.

I love love love his book. It has everything. Information I didn't know before, funny family stories, sad family stories, horrific family stories and everything in between. How this man came out of his background as a brilliant comedian and well rounded intelligent individual I can't figure out. Well worth the read. I am on my third time through this book via audio, the only way to go because his voice alone make the story pop.

If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the hosts of Live shows have gone through Jon Stewarts team through time. I know Stephen Colbert did and wouldn't be surprised to learn about a lot more. Even John Oliver might have.

John oliver got his break into American news shows on the daily show. The stereotypical white guy from the daily show has his own show now. The nightly show (cancelled now) was a spinoff from that show. The list goes on and on man. John Stewart had a real talent at recognising talent.
the "stereotypical white guy" is Jordan Klepper, and his show is called The Opposition. It's basically The Colbert Report 2.0 and it's amazing. Also let's not forget ex-Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee, who is now hosting Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and her show is great too!
I know this will come out of nowhere, but to me this is one of the best arguments for democracy :) People tend to say, that USA is as bad as Russia/China/N. Korea even, because they tend to brainwash people. But how could it be true, while also having such healthy competition in daily satirical shows ?
If anything, people in democracy tend to show their overall nature and fallback into drooling consumers of commercial TV. But that doesn't need to be atributted to some overarching goal on side of the democratic World to make us so.
I love British and US stand up comedy and political satire as well. Coming from Czech republic, I love me a good satire :)
