This is after Ryan's early success (Van Wilder, Blade Trinity, Smokin Aces), and during his weird period when he was doing things like The Proposal and "Bad Deadpool" -aka- X-Men Origins. He was definitely already "big." Scarlett, she was probably less famous than him, at first, but right around this time, she landed Iron Man, playing the character who gets revealed to be Black Widow, and she started to blow up. But she was already a "name" by then, too. She had done things like The Other Boleyn Girl and Vicky Christina Barcelona (which was Oscar fodder). (She also had won Sexiest Woman Alive in 2006).
Not true. They were both well-known when they were married. They just acted like they weren't married. I remember when they were married...even when I did see pics of them they looked uncomfortable. Scarlett was more interested in her career than him at that point.

In an interview, their relationship kind of started when they went out on a double date. Both of them are involved with different persons. I don't think Blake destroyed Scarlett and Ryan's marriage. I also watched in one clip before that Scarlett might have felt like Ryan was not getting too many projects at the time and she was hitting box office - could somehow be related to the competition that was mentioned here. They're just not meant to be. Blake and Ryan are both actors too but their relationship is going strong year by year. Also, if there is a feeling of competition in a relationship, I don't think they should continue with it. The 2 persons should be supporting each other and not try to beat each other down.

She wanted to live her life as an independent person and she got it, her career is going very well and also got a new husband that is probably completely ok with all of that. I simply think it was a case that the two of them weren't very good together. let's also bring up he dated her pretty soon after the break up of his engagement to Alanis Morrisette. So possibly a rebound he didn't realize. and she as well had just gotten out of a two year relationship before dating Reynolds. I think one of the possibilities is, he wanted a family and she at the time probably wanted to focuse on her career, during their marriage she was gaining more traction and had just snatched the role of Black Widow.
so fast forward after Reynolds, she went around dating many others until she married Dauriac. who she has a kid with but is now divorcing. Mean while Ryan and Blake seem pretty good, mostly because she's a very home maker mommy type person from the get go. which most likely appealed to him. No shame. I think there is nothing wrong with a woman being that and a man wanting that.
This always has been & always will be the reason why celebs marrying celebs or dating other celebs never works out it doesn't matter that both parties are in the same business when either one of you are doing movies or TV shows you're going to spend a vast majority of your time away from each other. Then when one celebs starts to become more famous than the other or winning awards it's going to affect the other celebs ego then the relationships takes a nosedive which results in a break up.

Actually his initial comment is not an opinion, it is a psychological fact. The OP is a generalization that is rooted in false narratives. By looking at sociological and psychological data, it is true that SOME men can not handle their partner being more successful than they are. It is also true that SOME women can not handle their partner being more successful than they are either. Facts are facts and science is science, whether or not you want to believe them.
Mr. Thompson's response, while perhaps is overly aggressive, is understandable considering he was merely pointing the error (which appears to be at least slightly intentional in-so-far as to fit a specific narrative schema) only to be met with an accusation of "mansplaining." I really like how you're placing most of the blame on Reynold's shoulders for his first marriage failing - everywhere from him being jealous of Johanson's movie success, to being a control freak, to cheating on her with Lively. But the most you can criticize about Johanson is that she may have yelled at Reynolds - which paints her in a sympathetic light if all the things you claim Reynolds is guilty of were actually true.
Also, given that Scarlet Johansson's marriages don't seem to last very long (she's been divorced twice in last six years - both marriages lasting three years, tops); I don't think their failed marriage is due to Reynolds' hangups - but Johansson's.

Ryan was the one that filed for divorce, and some mentioned Scarlet cheating (with Penn). Look like a lot of people here have other news that was not mentioned at the time of the divorce. So, Scarlet didn't divorce him for a Ryan-Blake relation. Because was the other way around. Scarlet is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood or outside. As well she is a very talented actress with several awards and I'm confident she will get one or more Oscars. But she also is not an easy person and in relation to matrimony has said several times that monogamy is not natural. Of course, that statement gives some veracity to the claims of her infidelity. We know Scarlet has talked several times about her divorce from Ryan. Reynolds has been man enough and had not said a word about it. By the way, I think Ryan has proved to be the lucky one. Sure, beautiful and talented Scarlet isn't -at least for now- the best wife option. Her second divorce shows us another of her statement: "When I decide I want to have children with somebody, I think it would be nice to be married to that person."
