  • At first I thought The Simpsons at this point in time was just a shell of it's former self. However, after seeing the episode, 'Bart vs Itchy and Scratchy', I've realized that it has actually morphed into something far worse.

I feel like the older season would have handled this episode much better.

Even if they did destroy the original tapes, I’m pretty sure the studio also would’ve saved the cartoons in some sort of digital file. The only way a cartoon that popular wouldn’t have more stable preservation is if the studio just didn’t care, which is very unlikely.

Too many people get "Empowerment" mixed up with "hate" and call out "Criticism" as "Racism"
If you want people to like you and your people you have to be likable. If you want to be seen as strong don't beat up the weak
if you want to be equal stop calling your people superior
and if you respect others don't disrespect other people
and if people want to be part of your group let them don't be a gate keeper
and don't justify criminal and rude activities or act like a hypocrite.

This is my most hated episode of The Simpsons and your review hit the nail on the head.

Mansplaining is meant to be a man explaining something as they talk down to a woman, but most the time you see someone mansplaining, it's a man using facts, or explaining to a woman, instead of saying she's right

It seems to me like the writers are actually making fun of misandrists who masquerade as feminists though. I think those characters and Lisa aren't supposed to be praised as the heroes in this episode, I think they're intentionally portrayed in a way that mocks those types of people, hence why they're so stereotypical. I mean just take Lisa's manspreading line for example, that seems to me like it's clearly making fun of people who take "manspreading" seriously, I think you're supposed to laugh at that, the Simpsons is a comedy after all, and a satirical comedy at that.

I think this dude doesn't gets the notion of satire. If he reads a modest proposal, he'll do a VERY interesting video :)
though to be fair to them.. it depends. SOMETIMES he gets satire. But the people in the story need to agree that both sides are complicated. He can't learn it just by examining the actual story. Which is why he believes the writers are far left though smarter people can see they're making fun of shit.

To be super fair to Catguytoons... he can be autistic.. or might not pick up on satire. After thinking about this for a while. You don't miss jokes because you're stupid. You miss jokes because you can't see them.. He can pick up on all the set ups, but misses all the punch lines.

@@paulshipper143 I'm autistic, I don't think that has anything to do with it. In my experience many non-autistic people seem to really not understand that a lot of satire is satire, more-so than the other autistic people I know. I absolutely agree with you on the fact that it isn't "stupidity", whatever stupidity as a whole concept really is. I think it comes from a deep-rooted place of wanting to be angry at something, or wanting to criticise something but that something not having anything actually worth reasonably criticising.

      @paulshipper143 Před 9 měsíci +1

@@whateveryasaypal5022 Your reply is fair and ridiculously mature. We can't say this guy is autistic as a defense.. he might not simply get satire.
I was trying to be fair with the assumption that some autistic people have a problem with sarcasm
I can't say he's angry to be angry... he doesn't mind gender issues. I actually checked out another one of his videos. But he is clearly missing the satire in his works. He was able to get the South Park one, and this one is very similar. But the Simpson one didn't directly say both sides are flawed.
I do think it's extremely sad that a person who can acknowledge the notion of nuance, but lack the nuance to spot jokes and dedicated a character's view to the writers without seeing the whole picture.

It reminds me of Detroit: Become Human's awful take on activism where instead of females it's about robots wanted liberation and equality like most robot liberation theme sci-fi films. Heck, the director of the game shamelessly relate it to racial equality theme as making the point of the game about BLM and you know the result: It's truly bad. The game's theme felt like underdeveloped at worst while also taking the most surface level of understanding of equality. Human = bad, robot = good. No middle ground whatsoever. The worst thing about the game's narrative is when you can choose the path of violence as a mask of robot liberation to the point i felt creepy for that narrative as it reminds me of BLM riots on US 3 years ago and ended with generic inspirational quote that even elementary school student can say it easily and the worst of this thing is that narrative only makes a painfully ironic point that they're are more robotic than the game's rtying to say about its theme

HOODZ & PPGKATELYN: We're best friends who are a guy (Hoodz) and a gal (Katelyn) and we don't judge each other in sexist ways, at least not in any way serious. Everything we have seen from this episode is disgusting and only causes more harm to gender equality, so we thank you for making this video.
One episode we both want to bring up is Lisa vs Malibu Stacy. That episode handled feminism a lot better in how the talking Malibu Stacy doll portrayed girls and women as stupid, clueless, and sex objects, especially with the phrase "Don't ask me! I'm just a girl!" and Lisa sets out with the original creator of the doll to create a doll that helps empower and encourage young girls to be better. We also like that the owner if the biggest collection is one of the show's own male characters, Waylon Smithers. We're also aware of how this was based on a real controversy with Teen Talk Barbie and a couple of lines the doll said which we do agree, not the best representation for young girls.
Anyway, we rated, and you've gained a new subscriber in us. We hope to down the road see more good videos.

I didn't watch this episode. I'll wait for it to come to disney plus. But I did find it funny on 0:47 where Lisa has a board of cartoon women's history. Lisa should be shown in 1989 or 1992. I find that meta commentary funny

I think they painted the feminists accurately. Modern feminism exists because of misandry. If feminism was truly about equal rights they wouldn't focus only on women's rights and women's issues. Not saying this episode is good at all but they are trying to push an agenda and they are doing it exactly how they intended and they definitely succeeded in getting that message across.

You should take a look at fate the winx saga it's one of the shows people like the quartering and Heelvsbabyface don't get mad about. and it has whitewashing. which is bad. Imagine if molly from the ghost and molly mcgee was whitewashed in a live action show?

    • @TRENCHESandTREADS

This is such a dishonest argument. "it's one of the shows people like the quartering and Heelvsbabyface don't get mad about" okay, have they even talked about it at all? Have they even seen it? Them not talking about something doesn't mean they condone it. Post proof that they've talked positively about it and then we'll talk, otherwise this is just you trying to connect a bad thing (white washing) with them to imply that they're also bad and/or hypocritical.
Ridiculous on the face of it.

I think you unironically EXPLAINED the purpose of this episode. Overall, this episode is NOT about feminism, the rights of women. This is about groups of fans having a hissy fit over a cartoon. But people like you want these views to be reconfirm, and when they're not, you rant about the show while not seeing all the jokes.

  • @UncensoredScion

First, Feminism is Misandry, all Feminists preach a "women first" mantra that they state is "equality" and it's not, second the Panderverse special says that the only reason Disney is the way it currently acts is because of negative critics who call out their pandering which isn't nuanced - no matter what you have to say about the subject, the only reason Disney started getting hate was because of bad scripts, those who insult Disney have never nor will ever be responsible for that.
Third, the Simpsons version of it is just a less subtle version of the same problem with South Park, as it's Disney and they do not do subtle at all.
The problem is as it always has been, bad writers and directors who have grown up in a world where they're told they've victims of an evil system and truly believe that so feel the need to force their politics down peoples throats to force them to think the "correct way", this was true in the hay day of the Simpsons as it is today, though you are right that then at least were able to do this with a lot more subtlety back then.

While not all modern ("3rd wave") feminism is misandry, a LOT of it is if you're being honest with yourself. Of course, we're living in a time when leftists can't or won't identify what a woman is, so there's that to consider.
