1) They didn't address how Vito got away with killing a capo of a rival family and his crew 2) Would have been so much better if Steve turned on Derek here and obviously later explained to Vito what really happened to his dad. That he tried to help him escape, performed a mock execution but he ultimately fell into the ocean and drowned....
@@Quest4Six510 even though he’s not Italian and would never be made…I tend to disagree. Ruthless yes but seemed like a respectable guy overall. I could definitely picture an alternative scenario where the guilt overpowers him.
1) he really didnt get away with it and Derek also wasnt a capo of a rival family - at the time they were in the same family :D 2) That would be too cliche..

It’s a theory he owed money to the loan shark and didn’t make his payments or he was stealing from Derrick and thought he could make extra cash and got the loan also to move his family from the slums to a better place but was caught and killed.

Despite Vito saying his father was an alcoholic deadbeat. He still had the heart and the love to avenge him

Steve is a ruthless character if you read his back story and he’s loyal only to Derek. No chance he’d turn on Derek

Vitos father owed a lot of money to Derrick and he didn't pay up so thats most likely why they killed him.
it never gets old. mafia 1 and 2 has the best story, gameplay, atmosphere hands down the best i the mafia series too bad 2k gave up on it such a loss
