Dave was actually aiming at Trevor, but Brad got in the middle.
Trevor was supposed to die because he was the most dangerous and unstable of the trio.
Michael even mentions that later in the story.

Honestly he may be unhinged but he's loyal, he's a better friend than Michael, and at the end of the day; Trevor just seems like a regular crackhead trying to start a legitimate business, even if it conducts buisiness in illegal ways, whereas Michael just seems like a cold, unfeeling, solipsistic psychopath, I mean in the endings A and B; Trevor doesn't even think about trying to kill Michael, but Michael is instantly enthusiastic to kill Trevor.

This is, chronologically, the first mission in the HD Universe, taking place four years before the events of Grand Theft Auto IV. The mission is set in either early January (i.e. before Twelfth Night) or late December 2004, due to a Christmas tree being visible in the window of the house where the final shootout takes place, and Christmas decorations in the bank's foyer.
Most likely Niko was working for Ray Bulgarin at the time this mission took place.
And Brad has the very first chronological line in the HD universe, he says “get down there!” As soon as the prologue starts right after the text.

Dave Norton stood with the sniper in North Yankton. The agreement with Michael was to take Trevor alive in custody in exchange for a new life in Los Santos. Michael was supposed to get shot, he had a bulletproof vest. Dave accidentally shot Brad. Trevor went furious and managed to hold off more police that was waiting and escaped what was essentially a trap. Michael did however get his sheet clean and moved to Los Santos but was forced to fake his death because Trevor escaped.
So all the time Michael has been working with the feds? I thought that Dave was just there to kill all of them or something. I thought Dave was to kill all of them but Brad died but since Michael was still alive Dave cut him deal so Dave could get a promotion. So Dave faked Michael's death so he can get the glory because he had just killed a very infamous man.

You'll notice that Brad moved in front of Trevor just in time to get shot; it's safe to assume that bullet was meant for Trevor, not Brad. Michael took the second bullet and faked his death as planned, but the fact that Trevor escaped and that what was supposed to be a clean job ended in a shootout that killed over a dozen police officers only complicated things. Anyone who's played the game knows how that situation turned out...

A tip for the part where Trevor has to hold off the cops after Michael and Brad got shot. Simply get out of cover and run away, the cutscene will play and the mission will end. This should cut your time and add to your accuracy.
But there are no Gold Medal Requirements,because it has no contact point.

Due to this mission being set nine years before the main storyline, Michael's and Trevor's appearances are considerably different. Trevor has a mullet and mustache, as opposed to his receding hair in 2013. Michael has fewer wrinkles on his face and a shorter, buzz cut-style haircut.

This one was a tribute to the 1980's since a lot of people thought GTA V was going to be set in Vice City before the first trailer came out, notice the people of North Yankton dress in 80's clothing, Trevor's mullet and the Soundtrack. Trevor = GTA3's mayhem, Michael = Vice City's 80's glitz Franklin = San Andreas's Gangsta atmosphere.

I don't know why people are saying that the story of GTA V sucks, it looks cool, the beautiful soundtracks, the awesome gunfights, and let's not forget how funny Trevor is during in-game cutscenes, but the story could NEVER be compared to Red Dead Redemption, even though it was written by the same writer.

Trevor really did care for Michael never understood why Michael want him to be killed. Yeah ok Trevor is a psychopat but he loved Michael and his kids. I first liked Michael but then when the truth came out I really hated him. How could you do that to your best friend? At first I hated Trevor but now I really like him and feel so bad for him. On the ending when trevor dies michael is so happy that Trevors gone but when you kill Michael Trevor gets upset and breaks the contact with franklin. Ok trevor said he want to kill Michael but never really mean it. Many reasons to love Trevor one off them is when he got the medicine for his mother and she wasn't there anymore it broke my heart when he felt to the floor and started crying. :(

+Jido Tamikato Even when you have Trevor hanging out with Franklin he will admit that he does not really want to kill Michael and the he was just blinded by rage. Trevor even states that despite how much he hates Michael for what he did he kind of understands what Michael was going through. Trevor also even stated that he would feel bad for his family if he killed Michael as even though Trevor called Michael a lousy parent Trevor actually tries to give Michael a chance to be a real father as shown when switching to Michael he spends more time with his family (mostly after you beat the game).

Theory: When Michael made a deal with Dave to get shot and fake his death so he can leave his life of crime and live a normal life, I think Brad was also in on that plan because he wasn't unstable like Trevor and later in the mission, you see him carrying Trevor's bag along with his, so the Idea was Trevor would get shot dead by Dave and Michael would also get shot, faking his death while Brad would get away with 2 bags of money. Only problem? In the cutscene where Dave shoots Brad, You see him walk in front of Trevor so obviously, if Brad wasn't in the way, Trevor would've got killed. After that, Dave went on with the plan and shot Michael and hoped that Trevor would get gunned down by the Local Police.
Seriously this needs to be up!!
I think Michael was only in the plan and Dave to kill Trevor since he’s psychopath.. and Michael made a deal for Trevor’s life for him to live a normal life and send brad to jail while brad witnessed his two mates died by sniper.

2:28 you can see trevor shot the guard's head which is on the right of michael. When trevor shot the guard, the bullet pass michael's right ear. I don't know if the bullet passing his ear are god damn loud but i pretty sure it will make a little bit damage on your ear.
Ned luke is partially deaf on his right ear, so this scene probably made to make Ned luke's right ear deafness make sense through the game, you can see michael movement everytime someone talk to him, he always turn around.

There is an unused part of the mission involving the torching of the bank's servers. An unused voice line of Brad's can be found saying, "Hey. Hey, we gotta torch the servers. Come on." A server room can also be found using hacks to teleport through walls.

Just gonna comment that I love the Rockstar logo intro in this game. Actually a creative way of implementing one of the game's well known visual aspects into the logo sequence. Probably my favorite one since the Vice City Rockstar logo with the Commodore 64 styled start up.
So hard to believe GTA 5 came out almost 9 years ago, when I first played that game when it first came out, it was a different world from the rest of the GTA Games! It seems like yesterday, but GTA 5 has been out just as long as the period between when the prologue took place & the year most of the game actually took place, and a lot of gamers have been calling “Los Santos & Blaine County” home for a long time, and GTA 5’s an old game now.
