"We know that we have the preserve the integrity of our borders. Nevertheless we understand how the border is seen from the other side - as a means of getting better salaries and a better life. 5. AUDIO: Bush over still
"To strengthen this friendship, Laura and I have invited Mexican president Vicente Fox to be the guest of honour in the first state banquet of my administration. President Fox is a good man - a man who has a grand vision for his country and I consider him a personal friend."
    6. U-S President George W Bush at Friday's Cinco de Mayo celebration
    STORYLINE:
President George W Bush on Saturday marked the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo with two radio chats - one in English and the other in Spanish.
In his address, Bush said he was working to put "old fears and quarrels behind us", and pledged to continue efforts to cement ties with Mexico.
Cinco de Mayo celebrates a 19th-century victory against French invaders.
Bush said the day paid tribute to the "strong and independent spirit" of the Mexican people.
During his campaign and as president, Bush made a concerted effort to court Hispanic voters.
From now on, the White House plans to deliver an English and Spanish version of the weekly radio address by the president.

He likely didn't want to, he was really coerced into being president.
All former president's children shouldn't be voted for, they're awful at the job, but I can't say it's all their fault. That's just my opinion, anyway. :/ Also far from the original topic, lol.

I could care less about what George W. Bush's did while he was in office: he may not have been perfect or the best president, but for him to be speaking Spanish is one of the great things about him, along with his ability to laugh at himself: he seems a perfect guy to have a drink or a chat with in a bar or at the barbecue, but maybe not bring out politics.
