- We have some long camping trips planned for this summer and while we can often get cellular service on trips, we ended up in two places last year that had Zero service. We decided that we needed reliable service this year because both of us will need to work during our extended trip.
We chose Starlink and got the standard Starlink Dish, Gen 3 Wifi router and all of the accessories that come with it because we think that, for the price, this will work great for us.
The cost of the set up was 599, plus tax. The service is currently $150/month, but does allow us to turn it on and off for the periods which we need it.
We like this setup because it seems like a much more portable setup from the version 2 dish. Once we get down the road and have some real experience with the service, we will post a review. We did a few speed tests in the video, but they are not totally indicative of what we will get on the road as this was done in our backyard.

Fellow Cajun here! Just bought Starlink gen 3 yesterday and setting it up today. Wanted to see a quick guide on setup and you delivered. Thanks!
Thanks. The plan was a quick setup and unboxing and following up with a more âhow does it functionâ video.
Weâll be on the road for a few months shortly and will get that update posted soon.
Ditto. You gave me clear directions/demonstration of the setup and I really appreciate it! I actually found this type of video kind of difficult to find. Thanks!
@@katwoman6523 glad it worked for you. We try to be complete and simple. The feedback is appreciated because sometimes we donât think we got there!
Thanks for watching.
Deeply disappointed that the cable isnât blue.
It isnât that fast!
Yâall made that look so easy!!!
@discoverrescue thatâs the power of editing. We had 20 minutes of some annoyances. Mostly account setup.
Have you tried to stream tv with it yet ?
@@toledojeeper2932 Didnât want to leave you hanging too long. We have been only using starlink for the past few days while on the road. We can both work and stream at the same time. Here in Colorado, we are seeing speeds north of 200mbs. Itâs nothing like our 1Gbs connection at home, but havenât had any issues yet!
