"Preludes to Faith" (Complete LP) - Kurt Kaiser with Ralph Carmichael (1961)

“Preludes to Faith (the complete LP) features pianist Kurt Kaiser along with members of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ralph Carmichael. Kurt and Ralph were in Tokyo with Dr. Bob Pearce for the 1961 World Vision Tokyo Christian Crusade. Kurt selected and arranged a dozen great songs for this project and asked Ralph to conduct the orchestra. Songs included: “Lead Me Savior Lest I Stray,” “Return” (written by Ralph), “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.” “Children’s Medley,” “All the Way My Savior Leads Me,” “Fairest Lord Jesus,” “Open My Eyes That I May See,” “Brethren We Have Met to Worship,” “God Is Love,” “Someday He’ll Make It Plain,” “O Jesus Thou Art Standing” and “His Way with Thee.” On some of the tunes, Kurt chose to add the Japanese Koto as part of the orchestra. This great instrumental album was released by Word Records and was later re-issued by Word on their Sword budget label.
