“The Ralph Carmichael Songbook” (the complete LP) is a 1974 project created by the Benson Company for their Impact label. It was part of a series of compilation albums featuring different songwriters, including this one showcasing some of Ralph’s favorite songs that were recorded by many of Benson’s artists. It’s a great collection: “A Quiet Place” (The Imperials), “The New 23rd” (Suzanne Johnson), “The Savior Is Waiting” (Doug Moody Orchestra), “He’s Everything to Me” (Ed Lyman), “Love Is Surrender” (Fred Bock, organ), “Return” (The Cathedral Quartet), “Reach Out to Jesus” (Doug Oldham), “Beyond All Time” (Bill Barron), “I Cannot Hide from God” (Diane Susek), “All My Life” (Steve Shakarian, trumpet), “I Looked for Love” (The Imperials), “I Found What I Wanted” (Fred Bock, organ), and “One of These Days” (The Downings).
