The opening clip has newsagents behind you. It used to be Skeltons in the 50s. Summer was spent outdoors football ,cricket ,pea strawberry and potato picking. At The farm oppo St Andrews church you could get a bottle of cold milk for a penny. In the courtyard of Brinsworth Hall was a barn which was a crisp factory and for another penny you could buy a small bag of scraps. Used to do two newspaper rounds from the shop on Whitehill (before Skeltons opened) BIG newspapers in those days. Saturdays worked for Uncle Vincent delivering he was manager of a grocery shop in Rotherham used to go home with all the scraps of meat left from the slicing machine.. very welcome in those ration book days. Remember the horse meat shop in Rotherham also. Highlight of the year was the choir boys outing (St Andrews) by a charabang to Bridlington . Such simple pleasures

😅I was born and bred in Brinsworth Hall Cres. Worked at Baines in Rotherham then joined the Telegraph And Star in the photo department. I remember Brinsworth Hall big sandstone House which was knocked down and shops built on its site. What a pity. Was a choir boy at St Andrews and remember the Three Magpines opening . Halcyon days.... There was a nice farm and a lively pond. All houses now.

Growing up in the 40's and 50's there was Bonnet lane, Brinsworth Hall estate. All surrounded by fields . Was a ten minute walk down to Canklow and 35 minutes walk into town. Buses were very rare lol. Supported the Millers and though now living in France still do...Once a Miller .......😢

I use to live on Bonet lane 60s/70s. Before the church was renovated there was always a faint smell of gas when you walked past..lol
