As someone who’s only 20 years old, I really love the older fashion and music from this time
Glad you enjoy it!
Jeannie is one of the most amazing person that i’ve known for ASMR videos , she is just lovely and thank you for being you ♥️♥️♥️so appreciating
@@takwikhajoyan3702 💖♥️💖
I wish I was there with you because I'm just as excited as you are ...I love anything from the 50s back ..I would love to see 40s&30s just all of it ..thank you so much ..I'm so excited!!!❤️❤️🥰🥰
I think all that "blah blah blah" at the beginning gives great insight into why you have such a warm and kind-hearted presence. It must be such a blessing to not only have been raised to be open to everyone but to have a father who grew up that way.
Don’t worry about the loud page crinkles, because I think most of us love to hear that!
Yes, bring back these fashions and the quality!!! 1000+ pages in a catalog!!! Oh the joy!!! Thank you Jeannie!
Yes! Except the girdles!!! Lol!
Thank you! 😊
No need to apologize for the loud crinkly pages, Jeannie! I enjoyed them 😊
I'm so glad!
Omg same! Crazy tingles every time!
Please don’t ever run out of old magazines! 😊
I love all your videos, but your flip- throughs and commentary of any era before the 80’s is relaxation gold. ❤️
Oh thank you! I appreciate that!
Wow, those coats were EXPENSIVE! $200 in 1959 is about $2,000 in today’s dollars. I wonder how many people were actually able to afford coats like this! But cost aside, another wonderful video, your retro magazine reviews are truly the best.
Wow! That IS expensive! 😳 Thank you for this!
This was my mother’s era and honestly I have no words for that magazine lol
It’s incredible!! Lol!
Gosh i want these clothes😱. Fashion was way better than today. And the models...well they are georgeus😳
I’m relatively new here, but I adore the vintage magazine flip through videos!
Welcome!! And thank you so much!😊
A note on the "haute couture" aspect of the apparel at the beginning of your "coats" segment: After the untimely death of Dior in Paris, his protégé (Yves St Laurent) was named the new head of the fashion house. What you are seeing here - is St Laurent's international influence of his immensely successful debut collection focused on the "A-Line" cuts, which he appropriately entitled "La Trapeze". Editorial at that time heaped praise on the new designer, waxing poetic with words such as: "St Laurent has saved Paris".
I love factoids like this!! Thank you so much!
I cannot believe how YOUNG Dior was when he died ! Did he smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day ?
@@LannieLord It's a stressful business. He had a heart attack. Most everyone smoked in those days, yet didn't always die from cigarettes. Today, heart attacks suddenly seem to be quite common post-covid in non-smokers, especially with very young and fit, healthy athletes. I find that a more curious phenomenon.
@@c3cubedhonestly everything we eat now has bad ingredients for our health, nothing is natural honestly...I'm really lucky to have a garden and natural food that my mom my dad and my grandma planted😊
New to your channel, nobody does these retro magazines read through like you. So happy to have found you! Also…I too have the bendy double jointed thumbs, so I understand what you go through. 😂 People get so freaked out!
Welcome aboard! And I’m glad to have another freaky thumb club member!! Lol!!
Same here!
LOVE❤ the crinkly pages. I'm almost in an ssmr coma!🥱😴
I love the loud crinkly pages, so relaxing!
Glad you like them! ♥️
MW was just an amazing store!!❤❤❤
Jeannie the thing about you is that in front of the camera you are a complete natural. You can tell your personality is exactly the same whether you’re talking to us or the supermarket assistant. Genuine through and through xx
Omgosh I still have furniture from Montgomery Ward. I inherited it from my parents. It's well over 60 years old. I miss when things were were well built!
That’s so awesome! Great quality!
Nothing was as gorgeous or classic as the women's clothing of the 40s and 50s. It amazed me that most of the shoes could be worn fashionably today. All the girdles reminded me of my grandmother (born in '21) who wore one every day of her life. And the memories of my mother's (born in '49) vast slip collection. We are much more comfortable but often makes me wonder if we have left some glamour behind along the way.
I totally agree! I love my shorts and t-shirts…but a pretty cotton dress would be easy as well…(I think.) 😁
I was one of those mothers and still have a vast slip collection for some strange reason. I just couldn’t toss them. Thx so much for making me smile❤
You're treating us with all the uploads lately! ❤
I love this! My grandmothers were in their late teens/early twenties in '58/'59 and my parents were both born in '58 and '59. It's interesting to see the type of clothes they might have worn around that time! 😍
My mom was born in 1947. Right after the war. They are polish. She adopted me when she was 50 in 95. I recently found an old photo album of hers. Was interesting seeing her and her people and their fashion throughout the years. Didn’t appreciate the outfits she put me in from her children in the 70s. But she said I was styling and that “all these clothes would make a come back” 😂
Jeanie, your warmness and love always shines through every video. Thank you for the great ASMR. 🙌🏼
You are so welcome! Thank YOU for this!
I love these long videos! Also, a huge thank you for continuing to upload even when going through a hectic time! 😊
Glad you like them! And thank YOU!
Please keep making these magazine/catalog videos! I love them so much. Thank you!
Love this awesome asmr video. I know she apologizes for the loud pages but that is part of the appeal. These older pages give it such a rich sound.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
I would KILL for one of those pastel bathroom sets at 56:06. This was amazing!
Gosh this is so cool. 1958 is when my mom was born, and I love seeing the fashion that ladies were wearing in that time period. My mom's mom was in her 20's then and my my dad's mom was in her early 30s. Seeing this makes me feel more conencted to them. The coats were so beautiful! The princess cut one with the little tuck in the back? To die for! And the maternity styles! Wow.
I love these styles, too!! So refined!
I’m havin a fit over here, because I LOVE the style in the fifties! And I am only 43
This catalog is insane! when you arrived to the dog section, haha! I'm listening to this while working and I had to stop and see how it all looked because it sounded insane. Thank you so much for these types of videos! I was born in the 80s, so I never had access to anything from this time. This is fascinating!!
Awesome! Thank you! And yes...the dog ads got me by total surprise, too! Wow!
Your voice sort of crackles and it feels so good. To be even greater, could you try to read book chapters? Yay!🎉
This was absolutely awesome! I love it when you look through old catalogs and magazines, and find myself gasping with excitement right along with you! Please do as many of these as possible. You are my new favorite CZcamsr!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!
I found you about a month ago and you are so amazing! Your voice is so soothing. I love when you do these videos with vintage magazines/catalogs.
Oh thank you! And I just love your name!! 🐻
Hello You Wonderful, Beautiful gentle lady X
Most calming and soothing voice, Personality and asmr Xxxxxxxxxxx
We Need You.
❤
Wow, thank you!!!
@@JeannieBASMRadore YOU!!!!!!!💖
My family is from the Bay as well. Newark for my dad, Fremont and Union City for my mom. They were more connected to a lot of the issues being a middle class pair of Black families but the Bay was always diverse. One of the enduring things I live about it (I was born in Oakland) is how folks just interact. You find a way to meet people where they’re at. I have Filipino, Jewish, white, Samoan and Mexican friends along with my Black ones. It was never a thing.
100%! The Bay Area just had everyone! The best thing about all the ethnicities was the amazing FOODS I got to eat at all my friends’ houses! Lol!
So crinkly 😁 I love time-traveling with you! I Just got home from a 4 day vacation. Time to relax and drift off before work tomorrow. Thanks Jeannie.
Perfect! Enjoy, luv!
I saw it all and i loved every minute so fascinating and interesting just loved it all!!! 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it!
The crinkles were so enjoyable! No need to stress about time, we love your long videos. The part about buying a dog made me giggle too.
Thank you so much!
I think I speak for everyone when I say you could make this a series and just go through every single page! I would watch every single one on repeat!!
Thanks for all you do!
Jeannie, you are fab, just adore your content!
every time i see you’ve made a new video it’s such a blessing, thank you jeannie for being a ray of sunshine in this world 🥰🤍
Wow, thank you!
clothing back then was truly stunning
I agree!! 👗
Were those dresses called bubble dresses with the rounded hemlines? I had one!!!
@@susanseligmann6033 Good question! I don’t know. 🤪
I’ve watched this at least five times. I love the sound of the pages I’m looking at blasts from the past.
I also love a thirsty towel. A big, thirsty towel! You can keep those soft ones. Not for me.😉
Glad you enjoyed it! And I totally agree on those towels! 😄 🛁
Thank's for gorgeus video!💐
Yay! I’m so excited to watch this 😊 your magazine/catalog flip throughs are THE BEST. I love your gentle observations 💝
Thanks so much! 😊
I just had surgery and this was wonderful to watch while convalescing. Also my moms era. Thank you for the vid.
Aw, sending healing vibes, friend! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
As a person who graduated in 1974 you hit the nail on the head what a wonderful time
🤗
loved this. didn't realize it was 1h long. thank you! 🌠🌈❤
Just for context, $200 in 1958 is equal to $2100 in today's money (adjusted for inflation). So basically add a 0 on the end of the prices (7.98 would be 70.98). As for photo retouching, in the pre photoshop days it was a mixture of lighting, makeup and actually retouching the negative before printing. As an amateur photographer it's really fascinating to see. This catalog and walkthrough was really cool as always
Elegance long gone.....a lot,of these designs you could wear today, classic shapes are always in vogue.❤🇬🇧 Cheers Jeannie
“Oh the clammyness!” “And bullet bras” (shooting sound effects) - I haven’t laughed so hard watching ASMR ever. You are a treasure!
Right? Can you imagine wearing that nowadays?! I melt thinking about it! 😁
I’m 18 and would wear a bunch in this magazine, including the models’ hairstyles. Vintage fashion is just so elegant 🥰
I totally agree!
I am watching this video right now on my TV. What a fascinating brochure! I love looking at old advertising from back in the day. I will come back to this video often! X
The vintage magazine and catalog videos are MY FAVORITE!!
Glad you like them!
Really amazing 🙌
Love the Magazine Flipping, it's so calming ❤
the loud crinkly pages? obsessed 😍this video is so lovely and calming
I absolutely love this video! I wish things were this simple these days
This was so fun! My family and I used to shop at Montgomery Ward often. I love polka dots too.
Jeannie each time your phone went off I was like “I bet that’s me messaging again” ❤😂
🤣
I looooove these magazine flip throughs with you. So relaxing and fun.
These are my absolute favorite videos! Thank you so much! 😊
Glad you like them!
Thank you for sharing Jeannie 🤗! I have to say, I’ve been a subscriber now for 6 months I’d say, & I just want you to know how much I enjoy coming on this app & having a video like yours to be able to look forward to. You have helped me not only in the asmr aspect, but also just to take a good look at life & to remind myself of the fonder memories that I have when things have gotten tough. And I thank you for that. You may not know how amazing you are, but I wanted to be one of the many to remind you that you are. This world has truly been blessed by having you be one of its many gifts by sharing your wisdom & passions with us. I thank you again, & may God bless you & your beautiful family 🤍!
I am going to carry this comment with me for the rest of the week. Thank you so much. Your words are so touching. 💖💖💖💖
I love these vintage catalog videos - so fun! Perhaps with these thick editions you could show sections in a series of videos. That would be fun.
I remember Montgomery Ward! That was a good store. I was a kid, but I still remember the coffee maker my grandpa bought from there lol
I always look forward to these videos! Thank you
Glad you like them!
I adore the crinkles!! ❤
This was lovely! If you do another old catalog like this maybe you could cover it in two videos so you don't have to rush through. It's so fun seeing everything.
I’m very jealous of those dresses! I would totally send in for them! Jeannie, if you start a dress line with these examples, I’m there! 😊
Oh gee….I’d love to!!! Wish I knew how!
OMG what a treasure! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would love to see you go through coupon ads!! Amalzd has a few of those videos, so relaxing. Thank you for your videos!!
59:29 Love your channel!! Fun fact for my fellow non-50s/60s-born people: at this timestamp, you can see only two types of headlights, single or double sealed beam lights. This is because all cars had the same headlight! And instead of changing the bulb, you replaced the whole thing, glass and all. That meant all tire shops and things would have them on hand as they were universal. The double one was a later invention because the designers were getting bored haha but still not much choice in terms of style:)
That’s a great story! Definitely a fun fact!
I love listening to your " blah blah" , it's so comforting, precious childhood memories.
And yes, it's true, every decade has its turmoil...
I love these old magazines, I am absolutely fascinated by them ❤
Wonderful! Thank you so much, beautiful friend!!
I love all your videos but this one is really one of the best ones ever ! Thank you so much for this ! I needed this, Jeannie !
You are so welcome! Thank YOU for this kind comment. My day needed it!! xox
your vintage magazine videos are ALWAYS a treat! i know you're trying to relax us, but it isn't working!! this is too interesting!!
Aww…watch it the first time to see it. Then watch it again for the droning! Lol!
I remember those catalogs. Everything about your channel you are doing right. Very well done.
Thank you very much!
I enjoyed this so much! Brought back memories when I saw the bookbags. I had forgotten in the 60s (late) for school I had a little red bookbag like one of those in the pictures. So many memories going back through these old catelogs.
Glad you enjoyed it! 💖
I love the stories you tell during your videos!! Soooo interesting ❤
I absolutely love retro fashion! That is a really nice catalog Jeannie! Hope you’re well today by the way 😊
Thank you! 😊

Love you back, friend!! Glad this helped!
Hi Jeannie! I used to shop there as a child with my grandma in San Diego. We were so sad when they closed. Sweet memory lane. Thanks and glad you made the move safely 🎉💜
Thanks for sharing!!
Yey!!! I loved Montgomery Ward in Santa Ana, Ca!!! My mom used to take us there to go shopping for our school clothes. Aww, what memories. Thank you for sharing and taking me back to my childhood years in the late 70s. 🥲
Aw, glad you enjoyed!
thank you Jeannie very much enjoyed the catalog walk through the crinkly paper is fun. I was thinking at that time all of this was made in America ..........the woman fashion is so fabulous .
These are my absolute favorites!! 😍😍Thank you! You should do it in a whisper sometime 😊
Love the crinkly sounding pages of this magazine paired with your soothing talking. 😁 thank you for the video 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
love to share those memories💕
Even though I was born in the 1980's (1983), I am obsessed with the 1950's and the 1960's. I love the fashions, the furniture, the movies and tv shows.
Awesome!! Great era, indeed!!
The excitement I felt realizing I’m growing up in the same area you did!!
Another young friend!! 😁♥️
What an amazing time travel! ❤
Looking stunning in this one Jeannie. Thanks for the relaxing vibes before bed :)
You’re welcome 😊!!
I found your channel popping up on my feed, and then you opened a book from 1958-1959, and I'm born in 1958, yay! 😮😊😅❤ I'm totally drooling over that book, fabulous!!
Welcome aboard! I’m so glad you relate to this catalog! It’s wonderful!!!
Haha!! Jeannie's going through a magazine named Montgomery!! Lmaooooo
I'm all for peace and harmony, but... well.... you'll see the video circling around the internet today. Thank you for this video Jeannie. After a day full of laughter, it's nice to just kick back and relax to your voice. And the story about your Dad and his friend, I loved. It just goes to show how life comes around full-circle. Have a great week hun!
Hello, luv. I’m glad you enjoyed - (not sure about the other video you’re talking about.) Yes, I loved the stories my dad used to tell me about all the trouble he and his friend used to get into. Their poor moms! They drove them crazy! 😘
Another video Gem Jeannie 💎these flip throughs are just the best. . I have always loved the 50s fashion and used to buy those full circle dresses at the vintage fairs in London 👗. I also love vintage 50s & 60s evenings bags - they get pulled out and worn occasionally 👛 I can picture you dolled up in one of those fabulous coats 🥰xx
I wish I could get some of those clothes!! 👗
Ooo, this pre-dates me! Love it!
Me too!!
Great video and I LOVE that top tooo! 💜
Thank you!! 😊
i have a barbie from a montgomery ward catalog!
def not from this era more like 70s lol
This was amazing! Hands down THE best ASMR channel I've come across in a long time. So much better than people making mouth sounds into a mic! The 50s and 60s were epic. So many of these styles are coming back! I love seeing this time period...I also think it would be really interesting to see a magazine or catalog from the 1900s-1930s if you ever come across one. Keep up the amazing work!
Wow, thank you! (Someone else said it was boring and monotonous! Lol! Thankfully the good comments outweigh the bad!) I will look for the earliest mags!! Great idea. I did do a late 30s or early 40s a while back...
I Had Spring And Summer Final Chapter 1993 Sears Big Book Catalog Farewell So Bring Back Memories
