    I followed this guide the first time I changed CVT fluid (good guide). This time as I was watching the video again it struck me - why not just remove the battery?
    Its easier, faster and less of a hassle, and worked just as well^^

      Excellent, anything that’s makes our lives easier is a good thing 😎
      So, you only removed the battery, none of the air box assembly?

    • @nwestdiver
      @nwestdiver Před 2 měsíci +1

      Agreed! Yeah just lifted the battery out and unplugged some of the electric cables. It felt like cheating🤣

      @@nwestdiver The next time the father in-law wants his gearbox oil changed, i’ll remove the battery and record another video 👍
      Thanks for the feedback, it’s good for anyone watching the video and reading the comments 😎

    Missing some step to ensure correct level or proper quantity filled.
    •After fill to the overflow hole plug the level check hole temporsrily.
    •Start the engine and circle thruogh the gear P, R, D, S and back to P, momentarily stop aboit 3-5 second at each position.
    •Once the radiator started stop the engine.
    Unscrew the level check plug let excess fluid flow out til tickling out. If no fluid vome out top up til fluid flow out.
    •Finnally put the level check plug and tighten to spec.
    If you remove the airbox earlier, install it back after these final steps.

    Great video, I personally fill back up via the CVT dipstick. Like you, I measure how much is drained and I add the same amount back. Getting the air box out is a headache, as you eloquently point out 😂

    Theres no hole on the top that i know of. ( or maybe i just havent looked) ) We just use a clear hose and a small hand pump to pump the new fluid into that upper fill hole bolt. She only takes 1.7 qt.

      There should be a rubber fill bung, it’s very hard to see and access.

      The crush washer is to have a proper seal once its crushed between the drain plug and gearbox casing. So a new crush washer will give a good proper seal, its cheap thou 😅
