If you don't know what "next mode memory" (in flashlights) is, it's the extremely annoying mode system that causes a light to go to the next mode every time you turn it on. I.E.; Turn it off in high mode, it will be in mid or low mode when you turn it back on. Unless you have a good memory, it's a surprise which mode it will be in when you turn it on. Or you have to remember to set it to the mode previous to the one you want the light to start in.

Looks like a temporary fix.. how to make it permanent? Maybe put some glue on it or Weld it

Put a very thin layer across the capacitor (not too much just enough because you don't want to short it) and forget it, I did this method in 2017 and the graphite in the flashlight is still working.

No unfortunately, The first mode is High, and when you remove or reduce the memory it will start on the first mode which is the high mode.
      You're welcome.

Thanks mate, works on nebo columbo series like a charm. A bit tricky to open them up at first, but the trick worked awesome.

Nice video. What if we short the capacitor? Would it work permanently?

No don't short it.. That is not good because it might create a short when the flashlight is running or increase the power consumption.
Just put a thin layer of a pencil graphite and that will drain the capacitor slowly when the flashlight is off.
Also the graphite won't create a short when the flashlight is running.
