The more i watch these replays i realize a big difference in skating. Tessa and Scott are so well connected its like watching 1, they are constantly lookig for each other. Many others are very stiff, not relaxed, imo, with their partner. It may be danced correctly but there is no natural fire, no obvious connection.
So I notice that often Scott and Tessa aren’t in costumes during practices like the other couples… at least not until some of the last practices before competition. I love the practice outfits they usually chose though. This one especially.

Please explain the protocol for this type of practice where so many pairs of skaters are in the ring at one time. Given their speed and fancy maneuvers, won’t it be dangerous?
Im a new Tessa and Scott's fan and dont know much about the sport, but I noticed that its comum this type of practice. Theres always four or five couples togheter and first they warm up like in this video and then each par have a time to practice their program while the other couples keep skating around the rink. I think they are used to this. Even in training, I saw pairs sharing the rink
They get 5 mins or so ice time before their section, there are 5 couples per section, they kind of just have to watch out for each other. But the last couple to skate will have around 40mins between this and when they actually skate. The IAM couples (in this clip T&S G&G and M&Z) should be used to it as they all train together
I mean, they've all already seen each other's programs. They know what the others are doing, they're just practicing. I'm sure there's some level of pride involved with practicing in front of competitors, but it doesn't seem like that's the focus here at all imo.
