She competes with herself. Her complex runs right up to present day prove this. They are so unique, quick but it's her agility throughout 4 decades that is astounding.
Her headvoice has improved and just the control and agility she has with those runs is completely amazing at 51 with almost 4 decades into her career.

When the guy talked about his mom's chemo, Céline had her eyes wet instantly. She knows. That was so genuine and touching and considerate.
Yes I lost my 2 yrs ago on March and she wanted to attend her show in Vegas.. my mother passed away to colon cancer, and me and my sisters decided to honor my mom at Celine Dion's concert in Jersey, we took my mother with us in spirit.. we wear a medallion that represents her and we pray that she enjoyed herself at that concert with us, it meant everything to me, it was undescribable. I flew to Jersey from Atlanta to go it was worth it

yeah but in the world of classically trained singers, its only an F, which isnt a high note for a woman. I mean look at Julie Andrews, she was singing high Gs, A-flats, As, b-flats and Cs live concert stage, albums and films.

Hitting an F5 in head voice is relatively easy for a Soprano, belting it out & sustaining like she did it is another story...
GarageStudio plus she was barely mixing it. It was extremely chest dominant. It’s not common for anyone to belt that high with so much chest in their mix.

She is such a pure soul, her personality didn’t change at all since the very beginning until now. She’s always been honest, real, funny, and witty.

All by Myself F5 note is the most powerful F5 note ever executed in FULL CHEST REGISTER. they can sing all by myself multiple times live but it will never be as powerful as Celine's almighty note in the studio version.

In her autobiography, Celine wrote that David said Whitney was right next door recording, so Celine sang All By Myself in ONE take.
I remember that and she also said it on the French television!
Now that makes 2 iconic songs in one take, the other being My Heart Will Go On.
These are not easy songs!
And I also recall that after she absolutely killed it - in one take - she took off her headphones and stormed out of the studio - which is, IIRC, the only time she's ever done that. (Bet Rene had to keep her from throttling David for that bit.)

She could have voiced her opinion in a more respectful way towards Céline, who btw went to toe with Aretha only after Aretha asker her to do it. Céline has always respected Mariah and Aretha. Mariah could have written that paragraph in a more peaceful , less shady way, while still expressing her opinion.

I lost my wife in May 2018. When Celine said, "He really wanted me to live, dance, move sing. . ." - well, some things are pretty universal. It hit home pretty hard, but in a good way. We just do what we know they'd want for us.

Celine is such a bold, audacious performer! I think she felt like she had to come up to Aretha’s standard back then, and that’s why she sang the way she did at that Divas show back in 1999.
Mariah said in an interview when asked what it's like singing with Aretha at the Divas Live '98, "You don't really need to be standing next to the Queen Of Soul trying to sing, you revere her."
But Celine went for it. Which made it lively and exciting. 😊😊😊

I LOVE Mariah but she was speaking from a place of insecurities.
She thought because her place was to retrieve and let Aretha sing, was what everybody else on that stage was supposed to do as well.

If you listen carefully to what Aretha is asking when she starts singing 'Jesus' she says ' help me lift him up, help me lift him up ' at first nobody wanted to join in so Aretha grabbed the nearest (Mariah) and they sang a bit together. Then again Aretha looks at the divas repeating ' help me lift him up, help me lift him up ' this time Celine shows up and they both gave us quite a duet! Both Mariah and Celine are fans of Aretha, one (Mariah) chose to be discreet while Celine chose to enjoy the moment and have fun. Mariah doesn't own ' exclusive special Aretha fan US-patent'.
That's because Mariah was already past her prime by that time and couldn't bring it like Celine still could. Twas just her insecurity speaking

That's the french influence. In Western Europe, we all get each other. But with the french, it's like...they have their own thing and if you don't speak, or act or are French, it always seems like they have a secret language. Kristin Scott Thomas moved to France and she feels more French than british. It's almost as if the French/Francophones are like; "if you want to hang with us...you have to become like us. Lara Fabian had the same. She's Belgian and Italian but says she feels Quebecois. They are a bit reserved to outsiders but when you're in; you're in. No matter where you come from." That's my theory, though. I hope there are some french or Quebecois to enlighten me on that.
