In this video we look at the Six Moon Designs Deschutes Plus tarp review and set up. I also give you a Deschutes Plus tarp review once it is set up. Six Moon Designs offers a number of outstanding ultralight backpacking tarps, shelters and tents. If you like floorless shelters, the Six Moon Designs Deschutes Plus is definitively one to take a look at.

Great review, like seeing how to set up the tent as well. We'll done.
Thank you and thanks for the feedback!
I just added this to my set up in order to go lighter and I’m looking forward to taking it out into the back country soon! Already did the front country test.
Excellent! Let me.onow how you like it! Thanks for watching!
Another great review. Thanks again, one more tent to consider.
Absolutely! It's definitely one to consider!
Thanks for the video! Looks like it's got some really nice options.
It sure is. It's got some great unique features that offer extra protection from bugs etc. Great quality as well.
Looks really nice!
If you like floorless shelters, this one is a really nice option!
Looks nice!
It really is! A lot of useful and unique features.
Great review, thank you for taking the time to make this. Only minor suggestion, but I do always think a review is better when you've tried something out a couple of times. But please don't take that as a criticism - it's still a great introduction to the tent/tarp.
Thanks for the suggestion! Really do appreciate it. Agreed...and I think this is the only video on a product I've done that I haven't field tested first.....so I 100% agree with you! Appreciate the feedback 😊
@@BackwoodsPursuit How are you getting along with it, 2 years later?
@@meeeeeeeeeeeify I've been testing a bunch of others over the last couple years, the others that have used it have told me they really like it!
Great video. I have had this tent for a couple of years and use it on most of my treks. I added a guyline to the top loop at the peak and run is straight out in front. It raises the back end up more and give you a little more room. when its warm i will add guylines to the stake out point and pitch it high so i get more air flow
Thank you! Appreciate the feedback and pointers!
@@BackwoodsPursuit I wish SMD made one out of DCF and used the same ultralight bug netting the Zpacks use on the Plexamid
They do make the new Haven with the Net Tent option made of DCF...it just came out this year! Maybe check that one out! I'm hoping to give it a look soon as well! It's not the exact same design as the Deschutes Plus...more like the Lunar Duo.
1:09 Was that an ant mound or a cow patty?
Haha... I believe it was a mound of dirt from a gopher.... Good eye!
@@BackwoodsPursuit I saw that and was thinking "of all the places to pitch a tarp..."
Lol.... That would be hilarious!
I am starting to think you just like to make me spend money, haha. Good review.
I do what I can to help :) Thanks for the feedback!
The six moon designs tent want seam sealed customer service was not available it leaked with no response
@chris hall are you saying yours wasn't seam sealed and leaked? To my knowledge, Six Moon Designs tents don't come seam sealed, but it's optional to have them do it or they sell the stuff to let you do it yourself.
@@BackwoodsPursuit I paid the $30 for seam sealing and the bug net isripped and vestibule zipper is broken no customer service response
@@chrishall7899 gotcha. That's a bummer. I hate hearing that. Have your tried calling?
@@BackwoodsPursuit no answer no response
@@chrishall7899 well darn. Let me reach out to my contact over the and see if I can help.
It’s like you are teaching 3rd graders.
Sorry if it seemed that way. Was just trying to help folks who weren't familiar with setting up a tarp.
Fielden - not everyone is an expert- novices would appreciate it…
