- McHale's Navy Full Episodes: Season 2x01
While searching McHale's island for a stolen case of rare champagne, Binghamton captures Fuji and places him under arrest as a spy. McHale and the crew must then concoct a complicated plan to free their Japanese friend, which not only succeeds but winds up with an unexpected bonus.
Joe Flynn played phenomenal character in McHale's navy it wouldn't have the same without him!
True - fits well with Tim Conway
I love Grubers zoot suit !!!
Thank you very much for uploading these gems! I never enjoyed watching any series more than I did watching McHale's Navy.
One of the best episodes, ensign Parker and lead bottom, what a pair👍
This is the best comedy I ever seen.
ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.
This is one of the funniest episodes of the series, and also one of the most interesting. Even in a comedy like this, which was hardly slavish in its devotion to period detail, the script depicts the uncorking of relief that Americans in the Pacific theater felt when the Japanese did, indeed, surrender in August of 1945. The palpable joy is rather poignant in its depiction amid the hijinks of the crew -- I've also got to say that, as was often the case on this series, Tim Conway is central to the laughs, and followed close behind by Joe Flynn's timing, and the slapstick relationship between Flynn and Bob Hastings. And Carl Ballantine's antics are a wonderful grace note to the proceedings. I love it!
Uncorked ? Seriously ?
AGGeiger . . . my Mom was in San Francisco on VJ Day, where, indeed, in state-side, the civilians did _uncork!_ She said the celebration in that city lasted for two days.
The celebration in San Francisco was especially intense as the US Navy had a large presence in the San Francisco region, which meant that the the Naval personnel weren't going to face combat in the western Pacific.
You the best friend that the Japanese Navy ever had.
Best line in the show
And Gruver looks like a 30's mobster. lol.
Joseph White Gruber...dumbass!
I've been watching this show since I was 9 years old but I only ever saw the first season (I've watched the whole thing probably 20 times) I recently started watching 'dads army' and I learned that James Beck unexpectedly passed away after season 7 :(. I couldn't take it, it made me so sad and upset. I'm so glad I found season 2 of mchales though!!
Joe Flynn might have been a second banana but he killed it on this one.
Tim was excellent in this episode. Better days.
Conway was excellent in anytging he did. This, Carol Burnett. Simply a comic genuis.
Hilarious, superb performances by Tim Conway, Joe Flynn, Carl Ballantine (Gruber)and even Bob Hastings got to do more than suck up to Capt. Binghamton
Thank you Jackie.
Hogan's Heroes had an episode with a similar plot called "War Takes a Holiday", which originally aired on January 27, 1968.
Parker Bena In fact, Hogan's Heroes and MASH borrowed a few storylines from McHale's Navy
It seems very obvious for a humorous war series to have a "war is over" episode. Does not make it a copy.
On my 5th birthday.

McHale's Navy. Oh to be a young child (5-9) again. Loved this show as a child. Primetime AND ALL the rerun yrs in synducation (1967-1974)
I grew up in the 1960s in Los Angeles California I watched all these shows Hogan's Heroes McHale's Navy combat and Rat Patrol they were all awesome shows and I still enjoy watching them today they don't make them like that anymore the actors and actresses were superb thank you for bringing the shows back
Seeing old lead bottom in the water late in this episode made me sad because he did drown in real life I believe at under 50 years of age. Unbelievable.
Another classic episode of McHale's Navy. Thanks.
He died on July 19, 1974 at the age of 49. He had a heart attack while swimming in his pool.
My personal opinion only, but I always felt that Joe Flynn was the "catalyst" that the true comedy of McHale`s Navy embodied and came from. And I believe that Joe was a much underrated and passed over talent. He injected a great deal of effort into his role as Wally B , not to take anything away from Ernest or Tim. But there was just something about Joe that you couldn't stop laughing at.......
bingo.
Last man on earth well said absolutely right about Joe Flynn. Tim Conway Carol Burnett Lucille Ball we're my mentors growing up.
Maureen Rogers ............Maureen, have you ever seen the film "The Long Long Trailer" with Lucy and Desi ? One of my favorites, if you haven't, it's more than worth the time, the two of them were just "Magic" together! I have seen an episode of "Highway Patrol" with Joe, he played a bank robber, had to be one of his earliest roles. Honestly, I believe that he did rather well in his performance. I wish that I could give you the title of that episode, Joe was from Youngstown, Ohio. Not far from Canton, Ohio where I was born and raised, Tim came from Chagrin falls, not far from Cleveland, OH , thank you for responding to my post......
Last man on earth yes I have seen that movie...great stuff. Lucille Ball's autobiography is not only fascinating but extremely inspiring. It tells when she first went to New York when she was I think 19, she ran herself down so much overworking and under eating that she was bedridden for three years. She couldn't walk. Although I know Lucille Ball I haven't been able to walk a little over 3 years. I've decided to see a chiropractor that's highly recommended in my area. Then if no avail I'll go back to the orthopedic. They say comedy is the best medicine. I learned not to long ago that when we laugh it goes through our chakra that's why.
Maureen Rogers .........Maureen, wonderful that you are doing well, ah yes........comedy! It has gotten me through some very dark times indeed! Lucille was also in a "Three Stooges" short, " The Three Horsemen", circa 1933 I believe it was. Like all of us, Lucille has gone through some difficult times, what a grand lady she was.........
I think one of the best shows of the series
Freaking Joe Flynn. Comic genius.
Thanks for posting this, when we were kids and stayed home from school this show would come on before the Dialing for Dollars movie, good memories, thanks.
You from the Bay Area in Northern California? 1960's-'70's?
This Could very well be the best episode ever of McHale's Navy💙
I don't know. That episode when McHale's crew sung the famous suck up song ever..."Quinton McHale..." to Binghamton. Hilarious🤣🤣
Nothing beats McHales Navy for Comedy, Not even Hogan Heros or other comedies will come close past & present, especially the comedies they make now in Hollywood.
Funny how a Hogan's Heroes stole this plot line....!
Vic Avakian Green Acres stands up to McHales navy any day.
@@prowelderbill green acres? Not Even close. But I can't get that Green acres title tune out of my head
''HOLY JUMPIN' HANNA, IT"S LEAD BOTTOM !!! GRUBER GET RID OF THAT STILL!! FUJI HEAD FOR THE HILLS!! OK EVERYBODY GET BUSY!!.....
So , in their ruse WW2 ended in 1943.
Auto stabilize is pretty hard on the eyes. Would think I was drunk with the background warping.
Thank you for explaining why I've been so nauseous the last half hour. Is this a problem with the one posting, or did it air this way...just curious.?
Gee, and I thought it was a recurrence of some of the drugs I did in my college days. 😳
It has something to do with digitizing.
That auto stabilization makes some of those episodes unwatchable. It makes me immediately nauseous. Thanks for the info.
I love Hogan's Heroes, but I think in hindsight McHale's Navy is much funnier!
I often compare the two. Especially Binghamton and Klink. Klink is actually trying to win a war while Binghamton only wants to get McHale. Both are vain and selfish not to mention cowards. McHale's Navy has broader humor due to the slapstick but I find both series about equally funny albeit for different reasons.
I love both, but think Hogan's Heroes is the better.
I loved and watched both BUT McHale's was so much funnier for me and my little sister.
Some time it's just nice to relax and enjoy the blessings of just being alive I seem to just watch my favorite TV shows of sixty just enjoy your life 😀
Hogan and McHale. Same war. 2 different branches of service. Same methodical mind. 😏
varios años de no ver esta serie recuerdo de mi infancia gracias ...
I'd give anything if they would make shows like this today....they could make them in black and white for all I care!
😁👍
Lol it would be WAY more expensive to shoot BW film 🙂 like one lab in LA can process.
I never got such opportunity. I saw warehouses and such that were too closely watched. Marine guards are no jokes.
they went to Hogan's tunnel school
A sailors got to get away with all he/she can ;-€)
+ Gene- The US in the European theater was after the Pacific. McHale's was early sixties.I say Hogan learned from McHale. I loved Hogan's Heroes too. Thanks for reminding me of them.
There was a Hogan’s Heroes episode where the gang convinced the Germans that the war was over, also! Lol.
Love this show
It's nea'h everyday you can win a war like this
Top show mate thank you
Joe Flynn makes this show
I think I read a comment on another episode where they were talking about bringing the series back years after and when they asked Borgnine how he felt, he said something along the lines of "Yeah but where are you going to get another Joe Flynn?" And that says it all.
i love this ep of mchale'snavy
like this movies reason happy.
Makes me wish it was the sixties again.
Great Comedy.
These are wonderful medicine for an old man
The best
Capt lead bottom sure sobered up quick.
They all were a great group, Tim Conway was great too.
They almost had me convinced the war was over
f they could get rid of Gruber, they could stay out of a lot of trouble.
Gruber looks like he walked off the pages of a dime store gangster novel.
RIP James Yoshio Yoda (March 31, 1934 - January 13, 2023)
Carpenter got his revenge on Binghampton.
Someone refresh my memory. The flags as the beginning what do they represent.
Damon Tweedy C-H-K-L, I assume chuckle.
Fight back Carpy!
When watching several of these shows, the background seems to waver or swim a bit? What is it?
McHale once again pulls a WIN out of thin air!!!.
I believe Churchill was voted out of office on July 26th 1945 but made a comeback in 1951 I don't remember which month....
Am I thje only one getting sea-sick from the wavy video? How did it get so distorted?
There was an incident during run of show between borgnine and Flynn/// anybody recall??
Grooher looks like cab Calloway.
RIP Tim Conway
Most all of them
this was when t v was good when you had true family's shows, no swearing, no p c crap, just good ole fashion family t v
Did he call the champagne “beatlejuice”?
I wonder where it gets that nick name?
I think they are saying "giggle juice".
God I miss shows like this. I've been watching Netflix, hulu and "Tubi". They don't have anything like this. What they do have is all sex and violence and about 90% of it is anti-American. So refreshing.
Warping is bad I felt a bit dizzy
John pauley yeah. What is causing that? Was it dimension translation?
Any skivvey wavers out there that knows what the flags in the introduction says?
When comedy didn't exist yet.
I would say it doesn't exist NOW!
Is it me, or are the walls moving in some of the scenes??
two words: Hogans Heroes.
I think the 2 shows shared some writers. A few of the episodes have some similarities.
+bah humbug and they were still both amazing shows. no matter how much they have in common and even if one used the others ideas, each of the shows made it the best in their way, and neither of them really outranks the other. the mark of real great shows.

What happened to the video on this episode?
Hi from evan
How did he know about the Norden bomb-site?/
LeadBottom.
🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why is the background moving around ?
Also, the opening title and closing credits do. The closing logo called Revue was cut off in the middle.
Same story line on hogans heroes. Lol. But what about the Germans?
I am getting sea sick watching this copy off a projector screen that seems to be moving due to a breeze.
A little seasickness adds to the ambience.
Wrong. Taking, what is not your is wrong
Why do you have to FUCK this video up by distorting the footage
Nope! Newkirk’s Churchill is waaay better than Parker’s Roosevelt. 😁 14:42.
ruined
L”
What did you do to mess up the download of this video? It's awful! reload it without all the video processing it will look better that way! NEVER use the video processor when the film was made by a film company !! THIS FILM LOOKS BEST THE WAY THEY MADE IT IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM Its almost unwatchable!
just another episode of stealing private property.
All the Rubbish started with M.A.S.H. & HOGAN HERO’S and comedy Rubbish like THE BIG BANG THEORY (Gays) and other Rubbish they make in Hollywood now!!! McHALES NAVY was the best comedy ever made.
No African representation? I wonder why?🤔
This was early WW2 1940's. The U.S
Military services were integrated in 1948.
