    Hi there, welcome to the new episode on Adhoc cars, this time I will share with you some highlights from building process of Porsche 934 RSR Martini livery. I couldn’t find much about this particular car, apart from that it has been driven by David Betts in 1977 on Portimao circuit. At the early beginning Porsche 934 had a turbocharged 3-liter engine that delivered 485HP later on the it has been increased to 550 HP. With the acceleration under 4 s it was a real beast. During a 23 year career, 934s won 72 times, 58 took 2nd place and 49 took 3rd place. There were 23 races when 934s took all the podium place. Not bad! It was my 2nd scale car and I can honestly say that it was really challenging for a beginner like me, tiny decals like fender lines which could tear apart just by looking at them, parts which didn’t fit as they supposed to or additional effort to get as glossy finish over decals as possible. So I wouldn’t recommend this kit as a first one to try your hand at scale car modelling. it requires a lot of preparation time along with tremendous amounts of patience. But… The more challenging the kit is the more you are satisfied with finishing it, isn’t it? I think it doesn’t look bad and I am quite happy with the result. Ok, You can find the list of materials in the description and Tamiya paints used in this project as well. Hope you like it! Enjoy! Cheers! Oh, and please remember to hit subscribe button, Thanks!!

    You did a great job with this kit. Just 1 tip: After applying the decals on the wheel,spray it over 2 times with clear-matt or satin. Then the decals stay nice on it in the future and the used look of the rubber stays there. New sub here from Spain.

      Great!! Thanks for your tip I will definietly follow your advice 🙂 I have heard and seen that some of scale car modelers also paint rubber wheels. Is it something that is recomended? I would think that paint on the rubber can crack and easily fall off but I might be wrong as I have already done just 2 project 😄

    Bardzo ładny model Ci wyszedł. Te detale silnika są ciekawe, lakier się ładnie błyszczy i jest dobrze wypolerowany. Fajne jest to Porsche, bo na ogół ludzie sklejają pomarańczowego Jagermeister'a a tu miła odmiana w postaci białego Martini. Pomarańczowy będzie do kompletu :)
    Mam pytanie, może będziesz pamiętał : w jakiej proporcji rozcienczałeś clear x22? I jakie ciśnienie dałeś przy malowaniu clear? Jak dobrze rozumiem, dysza to 0.3 mm?

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  Před 2 lety +1

      Dzięki! Zgadzam się absolutnie, za mało jest filmów o budowie tych białych wersji a zdecydowanie wiecej Jagermaistera 😀 do polerki i perfekcji sporo jeszcze mi oraz temu modelowi brakuje, mam jeszcze 917stke w barwach Martini od fujmii do zlozenia (ta zostawie na koniec, aby jak najmniej zepsuć :D ). Jasne, rozcienczalem dosc mocno 1:4 gdzie 1 to X22 a 4 MLT, cisnienie 1Bar, dysza 0.3, kazda warstwa z 15 minutowym odstępem. Nie wiem czy te ustawienia to przepis na sukces, ale zdają się byc dobrym punktem startowym 😀

    Very nice! I'm thinking about buying this same model. I don't have any tools for it. Is it necessary to use a paint gun? Does it all come pre-prepared and I just need to put it all togheter? I have almost no prior experience working with models.

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  Před rokem +2

      Thank you for your comment! The model kit you're considering is definitely nice, but I must caution you that it can be quite challenging for a first-time model kit builder. For instance, the decals can be very delicate and easily torn, especially the ones on the fenders. To ensure they stick properly to the curved surface, you will need to use a softener.
      Unfortunately, the parts are not pre-prepared and are fixed in sprues that need to be cut. You will also need to apply a primer before painting. When it comes to painting, you have a few options - you can use a spray can, airgun, or brush. If you prefer the easiest route, you can stick the decals onto the body and then cover it with a clear coat from the can. However, this method may not yield the best results.
      Other parts can still be painted with a brush, but without using primer, the paint can easily come off and the covering may not be smooth. If you're looking to get familiar with the painting process, this may be a good option, but it's important to manage your expectations.
      If you're new to modeling, I recommend considering a kit with fewer parts to start with. This way, you can build your skills without becoming overwhelmed. Please have a look at links in the next comments. :)

      @@AdHocCars I do have experience working with small stickers/parts. I built an F1 model car in the past. I'm mostly worried about the painting part. I don't know where to start or anything, haven't had any experience with that. I saw this exact model Martini Porsche but with paint included and I believe it was marked as "level 4". Should I buy that or is it an even harder assembly? Also I was intrigued by the 911 turbo, maybe I'll buy that one instead.

    • @AdHocCars
      @AdHocCars  Před rokem +1

      Ok, I have checked, and I could not find the Porsche 911 RSR Martini set with paints and a box labelled 'Level 4.' All of them were labelled 'Level 3.' It seems that it is the same kit sold either with or without paints. In my opinion, Tamiya kits are the best to start with, as they have no quality issues, and everything fits perfectly. However, if you like challenges, do not hesitate to try this RSR set with paints. Manage your expectations and have fun, because it is all about having fun :)
