    Hey Glamfam! In this video I am discussing what is really happening to the hair when you are flat ironing your hair. This is important information to know because there can not only be issues of heat damage, but also of a loss of hydration. This , when done repeatedly can cause issues with dryness. The number one cause of breakage is dryness, so we want to ensure we are correctly identifying and solving the issue. As always, if you have any questions, let me know in the comments! Until next time y'all, take care, God bless, and stay glam!

      Sin shortens life, because of our sins we are separated from God. Everyone have an expiration date and this world have an expiration date.There is nothing in this world worth going to hellfire for, depart from worldliness everyone. It's NOT about religion/denomination, it's about a relationship with Jesus Christ by praying everyday, reading the Bible everyday, believe the gospel, While you are still alive repent of all of your sins and be born again. Rapture is imminent, do not be left behind. Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, get yourselves ready.

    The timing of this video couldn't have been better. I had just flat-ironed my hair for the first time in over a year a week ago and had no idea why it was so dry afterwards. Like most people, I thought the smoke was because the iron was too hot, and not that it was steam as the moisture was coming out. The same can be said about perms, another chemical that straightens the hair AND can actually be deadly, yet no professional ever talks about that because they’re scared of telling the truth. Back to flat irons, I haven’t used one since high school and that was a decade ago. Growing up I had a fascination with long and straight hair for many years. I still like it, but I no longer have a desire to change my own hair texture because I love it, God blessed me with length and it makes me unique.

I recently watched a number of videos of people who had them done. The interesting thing is that I haven't heard how they are removed. I've wondered if they put any strain on the person's on hair? Or if they caused any damage or thinning long term? They do look really natural though. And it was good to see that you uploaded a video. The slick back is still slicking.

I explained to her how curly my hair once was and asked what time I needed to give it to be healthy again where my curls would come back more defined. She argued until I gave up, telling me that I do not have curly hair and that can not happe to people. 😂 I stopped on my own to see and in six months my hair is curlier than I ever even remember it being when I was younger. It’s not the stylist fault that a client has heat damage! It’s what the client does on their own at home! I am not a professional but I know not to use heat on my hair daily. Anyone doing so is asking for problems!!!

      Yeah I have to agree. A lot of times when a person complains they got heat damage from one salon visit I'm side eyeing them. They leave out the part where they used heat every day for a month trying to preserve a style.🤦🏾‍♀️

    I haven’t flat ironed my hair for years now. I also shaved off my head during Covid and started brand new. I have 3C type curls I still get breakage my hair is tingly and puffy. Ever since I had my last child, this has been an issue. What is so strange is that my hair is never dry and it’s super shiny.

    When I flat iron my hair, I always do it after I get out of the shower and blow dry my hair with a blow dryer brush. Before applying heat, I always use Giovanni hair serum. Once that’s done, I apply a glistening amount of oil onto my ends, and go for at least three days without heat.

    Use homemade coconut oil for damaged hair. Once a week dipping your hair in coconut milk will also deeply condition it and will add that lost hydration.

    Lynwood, off topic but you know those earloop things you were talking about. Well I have adhd and I was in need but stuff kept happening and I had to put my coins elsewhere. then I saw the copy cats on TEMU for 3 dollars.... LOL I'm not lying. They came with the case, the different tips and had the soft sleep version and the firmer version so I said what the heck 6 bucks let me try the slow boat from china. Those things came and they are AMAZING!!! Thank you so much! I can focus at work again! Now I pray my ears don't turn colors from using the 3 dollar version but whatever they work for now! Wanted to tell you in case you wanted some back ups LOL. Be sure to watch the tips. They have several cheap imitators but look for the ones that have same rounded one level tip like yours. take care, keep doing you!

    As usual, always learn something. 🎉
    I have flat ironed my hair with just leave in conditioner, flat iron on 350, and was concerned when I saw smoke. I couldn't fathom why? Thank you, I now understand. I only did it a couple of times on my natural clean hair & knew it couldn't be good. Will leave that flat iron alone & just continue with my twist & braid outs. I use the Revair to stretch my hair. Do you have any thoughts on that? Thank you!

    Loved that smile and moment @ 4:30. It made me smile. After watching the video, I feel soo bad for my hair. I only flat iron my hair 1 time a week or every 2 weeks but it texture seems like I do it more often. Could that mean I need to deep condition it more often?

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  Před rokem +1

      You may need more frequent deep conditioning, and you may be using a temp that is a little too high. Try lowering the temperature some 😊🙏🏽
