    Sad to think a couple spends a life time collecting family photos, and small treasures. and the family has no interest in saving. Its as if the family didn't care and threw the couple away. To me this is a very sad exploration. Good job Thanks for the share.

    Owls were popular back in the 70's. I saw a few antiques in there. Watch out for Lymes disease, my son got lymes disease, he got very sick. My son was on antibiotics for a long time, hes ok now, we caught it in early stages. 10 days after finding a tick buried on his stomach, he started sweating, muscle aches, fever, and headaches. I remembered the tick and in the morning took him to his doctor, test comfirmed positive for lymes disease. If a tick buries in you, tape the tick in tape, and date it.

    Glad to have you back, I like that fact that you show the photos and newspapers. Gives us a time. It's too bad the family didn't pick up the photos, I lost most of my photos, many handed down from grandparents, in a fire. Can't get them back and I didn't even get the chance to scan them. I wanted to find all of my family history. Many of my relatives fled Europe during the Nazi invasion. those bees must be honey bees, if they were African honey bees you would already be under attack. B safe please...Thanks Blessings.

    You missed that awesome old door in the garage. It was leaning sideways on the back wall of the garage!
    It was probably the original front door! It had an awesome design...small circular windows combined with-full length glass, with what looks like hand turned scroll work on the front. I'd love to restore that. Parts of the glass were probably stained glass at some point, if not all the glass. And don't get me started on the door knob!
    Good work!

    We have one of those holes in our house. The upstairs part has been boarded up for the floor but the dining room ceiling still has the original grate. It was a vent. Back in the day they had floor furnaces and those holes would allow the heat to go upstairs using the heat rises principal.

      geoffrey walker my mom's house has one too. The original part of her home was built in the early 1900s, and it was built with rough cut logs. We know this bc she had an electrical problem upstairs, when we tore down the walls we found the raw logs and it was insulated with NEWSPAPER all dates pre 1915. There is the hole and grate and she's kept it. She's restoring it to what it woulsve looked like back then.

    I worked with the elder for several years and the state of the house is not uncommon at least in my experience. Many don't have help to clean up and others, well they won't let anyone help. It's sad but everything is a memory they want to hold on to or they lived through a time when you never ever threw something away in case you need it.

You should have a backpack, with a mask to put cover Your nose and mouth, so You be breathing in mold. You should have 2 bottles of water. One to drink, and one in case of emergency. You should also bring like off spray. If You get stung, make a little mud pack and put it were You got stung. Also pack some Band-Aids, and ace bandage. And of course a cell phone. How old was this house? OMG! Basement flooded. I guess that's why the guy said it was not repairable. Those old tar like shingles usually had asbestos in them.

  • @annabodot962
    @annabodot962 Před 4 lety

    I live in the rural south. The guy probably bought it just because he could. It's a tear down for sure - too much water damage. And families leave pictures behind a lot because they took the ones they wanted. It's mainly just old junk and the family had long ago taken anything of value - there probably wasn't much. It's all tossed around because family pawed through it. Nothing weird about the Mason stuff either. It was a club for most of those guys. People read too much into stuff. Just an old house full of old stuff no one really wants in a place with no jobs. No big mystery. Ashes to ashes we all are.
