Draymond is right, I don’t know what a back to back feels like . I do know how 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week feels like though.
And not get paid millions of dollars either.
But they get paid MILLIONS of dollars to do so, don't bring lame excuses to the table.
@@dereckrivera5912 I could only imagine playing a game I love for money. Playing Tekken every day for Millions of dollars sounds like a dream come true lol.
Add on your commute, cooking & cleaning for yourself, and possibly childcare... SMH
These clowns are so out of touch!!!
Draymond talking about travel like hes not on a private plane
Yeah, plenty of jobs travel with so much less money and worse conditions.
@@dgilroy26shit the 87 all star game AOH did showed players walking through the airport 😂 nowadays they whine if someone talks to them
Donkey dumb af..he hardly speaks English 😂
Also that’s there’s no added incentive. Lmao yes there is it’s called the supermax it’s a upgraded max
I'm a field service tech, I fly all over the states daily. Most years I'll fly just shy of two hundred flights.
I'm just happy to get an aisle seat with near every flight being a last minute booking.
Evidence that this generation of players are soft AF.
Take out the words “of players” sports and media represent the people within that era.
😂😂😂
The entire generation is soft. Not just basketball players.
And now these players want to be paid extra for the all star game. They are so greedy.
It's the league's fault.
What I don’t hear these nba players saying is that they want to play for the fans. Not one mention the fans. That’s why the NBA is broken
In the 90s, the speed was fast, 10x more physical and players still played all 82 games. Draymond complaining shows how weak the game has become.
Definitely not nearly as fast. But your point is still valid because size of how physical it was. Not as physical as the 80s but still 10x more than present day.
Back in the day, they didn’t have the information they have today.
Playing 82 games takes a toll on the body.
Basketball is one of the most physically, demanding sports, now that athletes are bigger, stronger, and faster , It takes more of a toll on the body.
So load management is very well needed.
@Eata I Completely disagree. Now the game is faster but the 90s was much more physical and demanding on your body.
James Harden in the last 10 seasons has only played 50% of his games. That's absolutely ridiculous. That is a growing trend among most of the players in the NBA. I blame Pop for starting this soft resting players era.
@@notopicofflimits how was the 90s more physical🤔
@@LBFufuEata Lmfao this is absolute bullshit, the NBA released research publicly that said "Load Management" does nothing to prevent injuries, Adam Stern discussed it on that podcast the other week. Asian sports teams play way higher volume of games and don't get injured as much. Have you ever had a physical job? I think it would change your perspective on this pretty quick. You'd realize people bust their asses for 10 hours a day until they're 50 typically. Some end up with injuries after 30 years.... If you think NBA players are risking their health training for basketball 4-6 hours a day over a 15 year career... well you're just out of your mind.
A person who constantly calls in sick at work usually ends up getting fired. Wonder what Draymond would think if that rule was implemented into the NBA
Bro, imagine they start voiding contracts lol
@@fenixchief7 I'd pay good money to see their faces lol
Theyre not taking awards away lmao. Theyre giving them to dudes who actually show up for their job. Ask the winner of this year’s MVP if he would rather give it to Joel. Joel tried to earn an award that would give him EXTRA money. He didnt lose anything
Draymond saying the executives making these rules don't know what a back to back is? You mean Joe Dumars who played the game?
Man, Draymond was part of the one and done era. One year of kindergarten then turned pro!
@@Wotwudinodray stayed all 4 years in college
@@dreamer2887bc he wasn’t good enough to be a 1 and done.
@@dreamer2887and he didn’t learn a damn thing 😂
They’re getting the salary they agreed to even if they don’t play 65 games. Understood that it takes them out of eligibility for awards and even more money in the future, but they don’t get money taken out of their pocket for missing 18 games.
Change the rule and make it so you get to miss 10 games and then you don’t get paid every game you miss. Players want to get paid more but play less, that’s madness.
The NBA doesn't pay them, the team pay them.
Playing in the NBA is a privilege, not a right. They're getting paid MILLIONS and their life and their families are taken care of. Yet, they're still complaining.
Any Construction worker or hard-working person a McDonald's would play 200 straight games if they had to.
This nba player are lazy just that they fake injuries to stay out they new generation didn’t learn anything in Kobe Bryant
That’s two different industries.
It’s about their health in the long run. Rivers had a point, most of the old guys who played every game they can, are fucked up today.
@@LBFufuEataall part of the job description. If you don’t like the nature of the work, don’t play. There several jobs that are injurious to health in the long run. I’m a nurse and I’m very concerned about the stress on my lower back. The same applies to other professions like construction workers, and tradesmen. We accepted the conditions of the work when we took the job. The players need to stop whining and play the game that they’re being paid for. And I say this as a fan that’s been to two expensive games where star players have sat out. I was pissed.
It’s called occupational hazard, and typically comes with more pay.
@@Cinderella121 being a nurse and a construction worker is nowhere near as physically demanding as being NBA player.
The stress , the travel , the media.
Most jobs let you take personal days.
Why should the nba be different?
Kyrie got killed for taking PTO
The speed of the game isn’t faster today, they barely play defense or run these days..it just shows how entitled the players are now. They can’t even acknowledge why the NBA felt the need to put the rule in place. Players were just taking games off all the time..and they think they are being “forced” to play games. Forced to do their job, which only requieres them to play 80% of the schedule to earn awards. The awards are extra, that’s not being forced to do anything. If they are really injured then sit out..no one’s forcing themselves to go play injured just so they can be on an All NBA Team. It’s just absurd that the players completely lack awareness of what the real problem is.
1:29 Draymond thinks a lot of us just take “sick days” off? We can’t afford that, we work at the very least 40 hours making way less while not playing basketball.
Of all the players I was expecting to have a problem with this rule, Jokic definitely wasn’t one of them.
Right? The rule doesn't affect him. I guess hes just trying to stick up for other players but its a good rule
@@kyle-tp8om yeah, him and Giannis come across as more reasonable than the other players. I’m still a fan though.
I don’t think he really has a problem with it the rule, he’s just not trying to go against the grain 🤷♂️
Most of the players complaining are Americans. Shai Luka Giannis and jokic are not complaining and they are the top 4 in mvp race. And they are all international players.
Jokic don't wanna play he just wants to be with his horses lol
Draymond is such liar. It is dream job with such little for that amount of money.
1:30 Did this dude really just compare playing 65 games at 48 minutes a pop to a normal person working 260 days a year at 8-hrs/day?
36 Max lol
@@rockysalvatore435Yeah but…..They have to run up and down the court for 1-2 mins and then get a break for a foul or ball out of bounds. Then run up and down the court for another 1-2 mins. By run, I don’t really mean run. A fast walk to a light jog.

NBA is dead, doesn’t even start to get interesting until the playoffs 😂😂 Damn I miss Kobe!
Maybe Draymond Should not assault players on the field if he wanted to make the 65 game rule..
From Vanessa Bryant's Statute ceremony speech ~ "One of the reasons why my husband played through injuries and pain was because he remembered being a little kid, sitting in the nosebleeds with his dad and watching his favorite player play," Vanessa said as she turned to Jordan. "I remember asking him why he couldn’t just sit a game out because he was hurting. He said, 'What about the fans that saved up to watch me play just once?' He never forgot about his fans. If he could help it, he would play every minute of every game. He loved you all so much."
I took my kids to watch Kobe at Key Arena (Seattle Supersonics) when I was stationed in Washington. We could never afford tickets at Staples but we were able to get nosebleed tickets in Seattle. He was ejected from that game LOL. We made home made iron on t-shirts with Kobe's image because we could not find any Lakers gear.
We don’t take 17 paid days off at 40M a year. And that’s low balling most of these players who this actual affect
''We saw what happened with Joel''
Somebody fell of his knee. that's what happened.
Doesn't Joel have a guaranteed 4-year contract worth $213,280,928? Really... It's not even funny, it's just embarrassing. It's so hard for you to play 2 days a row for 35 minutes of basketball, just change your job. The NBA is a joke these days...
Punk shit becomes the new normal, and when it's regulated they cry but prior to 10 years ago most players played most games, and only sat out if they actually had an injury that prevented them from playing.
NHL players play the same amount of games, travel more (more Canadian cities), and play a full contact sport, and I’ve NEVER heard one complain
Basketball is way more physical than hockey.
You skate and run into a plastic wall with tons of padding on,
In basketball you constantly running, putting your body on the line risking injury

It’s clear you never played basketball at a high-level.
You’re putting constant stress on your body every time
Up and down the court,
not to mention the Star players.
You can’t rebuttal with Facts because you know what I’m saying is true.
It's interesting to just go back and see how many games 80's/90's guys played. Look at Malone, Stockton, Ewing, Payton, Hakeem, Robinson, obviously Jordan, Magic, Bird and so many others. These guys played man. No whiners, just ballers.
Oh and remember they were also plumbers and carpenters too according to current NBA fans so you gotta applaud them working 2 jobs!
Those guys actually enjoyed the game, it must be concerning when some of the biggest NBA stars say basketball isnt their favorite sport publicly and they dont watch it. Like Embidd, Giannis and Jokic
The game was slower back. Then, it wasn’t as demanding on your body to play 82 games.
nba players are oppressed...we don't truly appreciate the tremendous sacrifices they make to give us a chance to glimpse at them in their divine magnificence
Sounds like what the WNBA says.
And tickets are expensive as hell!!!!!
Imagine these dudes working a regular job...
It's called Most *Valuable* Player. You're not very "Valuable" if you're getting paid to sit out 30% of the season. That's just being expensive lol.
If I miss 1 day of work all year, I lose my $3000 dollar perfect attendance award
never will understand how Draymond is well liked. sounds like the dumbest guy in sports
The one player that has NO chance of winning anything. Is the one speaking. Lol
Draymond can't even articulate what he thinks is wrong with this
This is the new entitled diva era. Most of these guys are on the way out anyway. Maybe we can get back to real basketball that includes defense and pride. This nba is unwatchable
I blame the fans
just ask the nba players 2 ask how the paying fans feel. and let the fans give there opinion.
Winning MVP while playing less than 65 games is ludacris. You can't be valuable while simultaneously not being available
NFL players get their bell rung every week and suffer permanent brain damage for far less money but yeah…those back to back games are brutal 😵
Even if they miss the minimum games they still make a huge base salary. They are fighting a loosing battle. Nobody feels sorry for them. Even if you go hard a couple of years you set for life. While most people have to work hard 20-30 years.
The job is playing a goddamn game, and the starting pay is seven figures. 65 games is only 80% of the season. These whiny, weak players want to take more than every Friday off? Shameful and embarrassing. The standard didn't exist in the past, because the players were actual COMPETITORS. They didn't need to be told to play when healthy. This is the worst era in NBA history, IMO.
Modern players are so spoiled lmfao and think they are so much smarter than they are.
A lot of these players don't wanna work for shit no more. They just want it easy bro. It doesn't work that way, especially when you are getting paid millions. They talk like they are working at Walmart. Rivers mentioned their knees touching. Those were the players that went an extra mile. You are going to have the ones who stand out and the ones that don't. Rivers tbh wasn't really a standout NBA wise so I'm not surprised to hear him say that. You can't dodge injuries and other things forever. And u know what they might have injuries but they def got enough to make up for it. And not just money, so many other opportunities because of the legacy they built for themselves individually. Not everybody is blessed to be able to stay out of the way and not play hella minutes to cause injuries. And not to mention the players who made it to where rivers didn't have play so many minutes for him to get hurt. That's a slap in their face too. It's the NBA, like if you don't wanna do what u are asked to get theMILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars. Then don't play and set people up to think u are there for the long haul. And also I don't wanna hear the players that complain about the 65 game rule ever mention another great again. Because all of their idols including Kobe will tell your ass to play if u actually can.
It's crazy how these dudes forget the whole reason their is a NBA. You are entertainers period. You are only here to entertain the fans and if you don't show up than you don't get the extra benefits.
The NBA has done everything they can to make the lives of these athletes better than they ever have. They are complaining about money lost, well imagine when the constant no shows, and lack of effort in big games leads to huge losses of revenue from the fans. TNT has outright said they could survive without the NBA, thats a horrible statement to hear for the owners AND the players.
It’s the exact thing that’s ruined ratings and attendance. Pop started all this. Anytime I tune into a marquee game the stars ain’t playing. Foh.
Pop didn't start this 😆 LeBron and co did. Pop was resting guys who had years in the NBA, they were old and he was saving their legs for the playoffs. The issue started when LeBron and prime players started resting, that's when the shit became a joke. As a fan I have no issue with a 17, 18, 19 year player taking nights off when needed, it's the guys who haven't even played a decade and need the night off, guys who play vs bad teams but sit vs good teams. Blaming a coach using a strategy to prolong his veterans is the issue here, because once again we skip over the real issue, because if you remember pop was not trying to let kawhi take games off when he felt like it, only his old guys.
Can we play50- 65 games a year but you pay us for 82
I love the rule, it was obvious that the players were leveraging this for their own benefit. The league is putting the focus back to where it should be, the NBA is a product for the fans, not for the players wanting to make a living alone. If the product is bad or watered down, then the revenue will be affected in the long run. Hence the WNBA struggles. Blimp view to grasp the full concept
There’s no added incentive for showing up to work 80% of the time??? 😂 this is why no one will ever find nba players relatable. They are expected to do the bare minimum, be compensated for it, then when their boss tells them to do a tiny bit more it’s “well you aren’t gonna pay us more so why would we?”
Bro even Embid last year played 66 games. So he would have been eligible anyways. Draymond just spewing entitled BS here
Anyone thinking it??? Entitlement. I honestly don’t miss the game
Imagine doing all of this in the 90’s and not complaining when harder defense was played…. Bunch of clowns
I think it is funny they are complaining of the "executives" and the "owners" wanted to do this, but this rule wouldn't happened without the approval of the PLAYERS association, they got this rule and say cool, approved.
Also some of those executives were players themselves, they f**g know what they're talking about 😂
Smh Draymond green & Austin rivers is role players u never heard micheal cooper , Charles Oakley , Robert horry speaking like this
Remember, these players get paid the way they do because of ticket sales and TV contracts. Some players make as much as 6 figures a game, not a year. These current players are soft and have a sense of entitlement. All fans have to do is stop going to the games and watching on tv. Then the NBA revenue will diminish and these players' narratives will change. I'd rather see college or High school games anyway because they play harder.
I work retail and if you don’t call in sick all year you get what I call (because I forget what it’s actually called) a sick bonus. Which is a couple hundred at the end of the year. These nba players are pathetic.
The normal thing that players do when they don't want to play anymore is retire. But current NBA players are trying to extend their careers so they can continue making money.
Boohoo. Listen up nba players- you get paid to play basketball. 88 games lol. Try being a working man working over 260 days for far less money. Nba players are crybabies
Less Games, Less Money... simple concept 🤷🏽♂️
These guys complain about playing basketball. But they want their money though
The title😂😂😂
NBA players don't want to play 65 games or the All Star game
Pretty sure incentive based contracts is what all the stars have with all NBA teams, MVP etc etc
Ah too bad Draymond. Just stay home and do your podcast. You can retire then!
They already have 17 gms to miss for real injuries... nobody forcing them to play thru injury..
Sympathy for millionaires who won't work?
Also, everyone is not in the running for these awards so it only affects a small percentage of players.
Pampered babies They should try working a back to back to back to back to back to back at 10 to 15 hours a day and your paychecks only in the hundreds then you get to do it again the next week and do that year after year then you have to listen to these NBA guys complain about having to play basketball!
It should've been 70, but they knew there would be a ton of media pushed players that would have no hope of reaching this: Embiid, AD, Kawhi, Lebron, KD, Steph, Zion plus Giannis (who isn't really media pushed). The MVP race would basically come down to Jokic, Luka and Tatum every year. They made it 65(which is slightly less than %80 of the games) to give those players a chance, and they're still complaining about it.
I don’t take sick days Draymond 🤷🏾♂️
Didn’t make the league but after four years of college my body was pretty banged up. Was happy to call it quits tbh. Can’t imagine what 82+ games a year feels like year after year.
Best believe the guys playing all 82+ playoffs etc need a lot of drugs to keep it moving.
I hate this it’s costing players no it’s not the supermax is a added incentive
Nobody would say anything if we stop watching them and they start making less than a million a year, now they make so much money and they don't want to play
the game is way faster today then any decade i saw players this year exhausted out of breath during the pre season games
But most "fans" of today say that they are "better athletes", is that an excuse and a compliment at the same time? Plus, what is really tiring is defense, I've never seen any team in any sport tired of playing offense only. And the most important: They are paid MILLIONS of dollars to play, if they're not up to the task then quit and let other true players take their place.
Game is faster cuz no one plays defense anymore. Nor do people post up in the paint and instead just jack up 3s all game or run straight to the rim. The reason they’re out of breath is because they aren’t in shape. Probably why they need to take so many games off throughout the season, because they aren’t in shape. Players in the 80/90s played with way more intensity on both ends of the court, played entire seasons, and didn’t need to take off games because they were out of shape. Todays players soft asf
The word force seems wrong. The players union I'm pretty sure agreed to it. This isn't the NBA I enjoy.
Listen too Nepo Baby Rivers.
This is what the NBA deserves for giving the players all the power.
Never give the employees all the power or you'll be screwed.
i never get why people complain abt back to backs, you get ur sleep eat ur 5 star meal with ur own chef watch tiktok or something and ur complaining about going to work as if u don’t have one of the best jobs in the world
Draymond on the 1st clip not mentioning that he makes at least 15x what players back then made with private planes nutrition medical and training that those guy never had access to
65 games is 79 percent of the season. That means you have leeway to miss 20 percent of the total games and still win an award. What regular person has the privilege of taking more than 20 percent of their days off and getting promoted? Let alone the fact that you’re playing at the highest level and being paid millions. The least you can do is play 65 games.
The game in 60s was faster pace than now. He’d be really pissed off if he was making what they made back then 😂
Every player in the NBA right now is replaceable. They’re basketball players outside the league that could draw game attendance, increase television ratings, sell merchandise, and are fundamentally sounded.
I think it’s ok they make money like they do but I do wonder if it’s making them lazy. Or maybe give a pass if a league dr says they are really injured and not just resting.
I don’t agree with the 65 game rule because we have already seen it lead to much more injuries, everyone is consistently injured and you don’t watch basketball if you say otherwise. Load management is important if you all want to see entertaining playoff basketball. The data stating that rule doesn’t lead to injury is cap, look at the injury list on ESPN, load management is highly necessary.
Complaining about playing back to backs games while making 25 million a year..funny stuff
I get the rule and im for it, but at the same time the mvp should go to the best player. If someone is the best player by a mile but only played 64 games then it doesnt seem right giving it to someone else by default
Acting like they are being forced...when all it does is exclude you from personal awards in the regular season. Pathetic.
Amazing how there paid so much but they can't do what previous generations for a lot less
I think the NBA needs to assign their own doctors to teams, this way they can also evaluate the players. If someone is sitting because of knee soreness then deduct those games. But If someone plays 64 games and then their knee shatters...that's just insane to say "not good enough". Clear and obvious injuries shouldnt count. It's not an injury prevention rule, it's a no resting rule.
Nobody wins employee of the month for only showing up to work for 3 weeks. The season been 82 games for years. These guys are pro athletes, the recovery process is now way more advanced, there is no physicality or defence anymore, but these divas still need to sit games out. NBA is weak af
It’s hard to live in reality when you’ve basically been rich since you were a teen for playing a game.
The first mofo is trash.. lol he also signed up for it and so does the "average" person in their profession, the slight difference Is that "average" person are the one paying to see you play - sponsoring your way of life with their "average" pay. If not they'll be making less financially, so in essences you're the product and from my understanding, Noone is willing to annually pay for bad products. why I personally stopped paying for their product unless it's a free sample - a national televised game(s) . And I'll casually watch that.
when Kobe retired the leagues athletes started to gradually dial down their competitiveness year after year it's just unbearable to watch
Average people work damn near everyday. NBA players do have time in between games.
Dre ain’t had a full season ever. And now he get suspended on purpose to get off time
I don’t feel bad y’all did this to yourself, too many times players didn’t play for no reason. Now people gotta suffer because of it. If the speed of the game is to much for ur body learn how to play slower at certain times. U play less back to backs less traveling more comfortable traveling, the season has became longer to supplement more rest. The players abusing the system is the reason this system was created. I don’t care about millionaires crying. Nothing will change my mind.
Austin Rivers sounds like a fool for saying that the players' are having money taken out of their pockets by this 65-game rule. Bonuses are not guaranteed and require an employee to meet the correct criteria to earn them.
The entitlement from a lot of these NBA players is why the league is trash these days and perfectly explains why the All-Star Game is a total joke.
Give our Entitled Asses more money so we care.
todays players a so soft. back in the days of a more physical nba, those guys played preseason games. remember when AI said practice, practice. now nba players voice is play real game, play a real game.
But casuals still stick to the argument that these divas are "better athletes", if they're better athletes they should be less prone to injuries too, right? Also they don't play defense, just offense, defense has always been more exhausting than offense in any sport, not just basketball.
Today's NBA players act like they deserve the same treatment as a top selling female pop artist or an A list actress.
lol……make them sign per game contract. Instead multi millions for multi years.
