- Take a close look at a Solo Balcony cabin onboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas. I took an 11-day cruise from Singapore in early January 2020 and was able to book this cabin for myself, without any extra solo-supplement. It was a bargain, and a rare find for a solo traveller.
Walk with me as I take you on a thorough tour of this cabin, along with some useful cruising tips along the way.
Quantum of the Seas is a sister ship to Ovation of the Seas, which I cruised to Hawaii on last year. Because I had previously cruised on Ovation of the Seas, I knew immediately where to find everything onboard, as I was already familiar with the layout of this class of ship.

So excited! LOL! 😁 I was dying to find videos of the studio balcony rooms! After watching your video I think I made a very good decision and that's great value for me as a solo traveler also this time around. I know it's been a year since the last comment and 3 years from your trip but I was just wondering if you remember the room being noisy at all, specially because of the location so close to the elevators and the room being on top of "Jamie's Italian" restaurant/kitchen? i like this room when cruising starts again, i may cruise on this ship, i have only cruised on NCL solo cabins, but they are only inside cabins. love this balcony. One day in the future.
Yes the solo balcony on Quantum of the Seas is also available on Ovation of the Seas, as these ships are almost identical. This is a great option when travelling solo. I hope you get the chance to cruise soon! Thankyou for commenting.
Such a nice cabin with enough space for one person. When I did a mock reservation for a solo cabin, it was most expensive of the other balcony cabin types. I'm surprised about that since it's smaller than the others.
Solo cabins are expensive because they are priced for just one passenger. If you check other cabins, the price is based on occupancy of 2 people per cabin. So, if you were to book a cabin that is not specifically for solo cruises, you will end up paying the charge of 2 people (even if you are the only passenger)... If I was to cruise again solo on Royal Caribbean, I think it would be better value for $ to book a large ocean view, as there is more space inside the cabin. The solo cabin was rather tight, even though it had the benefits of a balcony. There are plenty of places onboard the ship to enjoy the fresh air! Thanks for your comment!

A beautiful room I like it on Quantum and I am going on Ovation in 4 days for a cruise 🚢
Just on Monday last my friends had to cancel our cruise to the South Pacific on Ovation due to concern with that awful virus around. One of my friends has got to be careful with their health even though she had things in place and this was a hard choice.vThey were able to get their money back as a future cruise credit. On the flip side we are going to look at another cruise which can be chosen anytime before the end of next year so we are looking at which one we will end up having will soon know
My friends and I put in for the Ovation cruise in December this year a nine day one which is alright too. At the moment no cruise ships are allowed in New Zealand as they are closing their boarders it takes effect from tomorrow night until 30th June and if anyone enters NZ they have to quarantine themselves for 14 days and not go anywhere at all
Thanks. I actually just booked ovation 6250 and I think it’s the exact same layout. I was concerned about the obstruction but I don’t see a huge issue. Also it seems that the entry has two doors so noise shouldn’t be too bad? Bernie
Entry is via a single door. The location is quite near the elevators, but external noise was never an issue. Enjoy your cruise 😀🛟🛳

I think you may be looking straight at a tender boat, but its still great to have balcony access and fresh air. Have a great cruise!
How easy is it to get a solo cabin? I find they sell out really quickly ?😭
You just need to book when new itineraries are listed. I think I was lucky, too!
