dude, pair those mutes with gen symbals or low volume cymbals and that would be one hell of a setup
Yaaa those would be super cool! I totally thought about them, but didn't have a set when this needed to get done
I combined them with Agean R and I love them... besides the Rtom for the kick... my DW5000 doesn’t seem to like it.
@@williamperri3437 indeed they are. I’ve been using it for over a year.
They are fun to play on. I had the rubberized pads on the heads, i couldn't believe the difference. The pads actually made me work harder, but now i feel like i have more control. Love the rtom heads..
Amazing playing Aaron! Like to see more of your improv!
thanks man! I'm sure there'll be more soon!
I already thought about getting them.. Now I will definitely. Great drumming btw!
Were you expecting bad drumming?
of course not.. sorry if it sounded like that!
Just a joke man
Bahahaha hilarious! :p
love that drumming
These sound like a perfect solution for practice in the neighborhood! Thanks for the solid video and info brother! Subbed for more!
MorbidVizions Fuckin A !🤘😎🤘
They are a bit pricey, but they are worth every penny
The RTOM Black Hole Practice System 🥁 is an excellent concept 🤘🏻 and I don't know why anyone has thought of this before. BUT the Bass Drum Mesh Head needs to be redesigned. Having it go inside the Bass Drum Hoop would cause it to function better and be more secure and the bonus would be that you wouldn't have to take your Bass Drum Pedal off the hoop, which is totally stupid 🙅🏻♂️. Also there is no 26" Bass Drum size 👎🏻. I would also like to see for the Snare and Floor Tom have larger Sound Patch proportional to the drums larger diameter sizes. From a Creative Director and Drummer :) ✌🏻
I dig the cymbal sound.
Bhink, bhink bonk!
Nice sound, dude :)
Thanks! :)
Great demo and great playing ! The only thing I found a little tough to hear was that the kick was so low in volume in relationship to everything else. How is it in the room ?? Is there any kind of resonance like there is on the toms ?? Thanks !!
Curious as to what kind of processing you have on these. They sound great.
If you used these with the EAD10, would you have to use a low-volume setting with it? Or would they be loud enough to be picked up by the mic? Maybe just by increasing the sensitivity on the mic so it picks up more?
Liked and subbed!
Thanks man! Somehow this got 'held for review' weird! Sorry for the 11 month wait lmao!
How does the kick feel? I’ve watched a lot of videos and everyone says that the toms and snare feel and sound real but just quieter. I haven’t found a video where someone explains the feel of the kick drum. Thanks dude
That's amazing, but I would use some Zildjians Gen16 combined with those RTOMS.
Awesome playing! How high did you tune your snare and Rtom? I can’t seem to get them as good sounding as yours
I can't get mine to sound very good, either. It's frustrating. The rest of my kit sounds pretty good, though.
I'm fucking sold!!! I'm gonna get me a set after listening to you! One question, where and how do I get those cymbal toppers? Cheers
Do these mutes come as a set or do you buy each individually?
Hey man, do you think working on double bass while using these pads on the kick drum would hinder technique when sitting at an unmuted kit?
I don't think it would hinder it, although they definitely have more give than your bass drum would. Pro-Tip if you stuff your kick with laundry (like 80% or more) and put a mesh head with beater patches, it feels REALLY close to a normal kick, minus most of the sound.
Love the drum mutes; hate the cymbals. They sound like metal garbage can tops. Definitely going to get the drum mutes.
What material black hole use? Is that rubber?
Great solution, heh Erin, would be nice to hear just a room mic, and hear the amount of silencing, comparatively to wide open, great video!!
Ahhh that's a great idea! The dampening is significant enough that with just overheads it would probably sound mostly like clicks and taps. Maybe it's time for an update vid!
@@Snarea51 close mic'ing sounds great Aaron. I'm also curious if triggers would work with the these heads? I'm considering diving in for my practice setup. Thanks
@@robertstevenson1286 Actually, they're currently developing a trigger set for these! I tested the prototypes a few months ago! I'm not sure when the release is planned, but it's gotta be getting close :)
Also, I did try sticking some of my Roland triggers on these with limited success. It DID work, just not excellently.
Thanks for the update on the triggered version, I'll wait for them I thinks, take care, rock on
@@robertstevenson1286 Welcome! :D
They sound super loud still! I have a pair of Vic FIrth mutes and as you probably know their not realistic to play on at all. But, they are quit enough to not be an issue. I just wonder how they compare to the Black holes volume wise, if you know? Great video though man, dig your beats. Appreciate you!
I mean they are mic"ed and probably proceed for video
have u bought them?
My parents bought me evans sound off mutes. And I agree. They are not realistic to play on at ALLLLLLL! They have no rebound, they fall off, cut out way too much sound, and don’t sound like real drums. Now the bass mute is beaten up so bad and I haven’t been able to play in like a week. I’ve been begging them if I can just use the Remo Rings. But there is no changing their minds. And the crazy thing is I only have to use drum mutes not even cymbal mutes. I don’t get the point. Our neighbors have never complained. They are just horrible. If I could I would give less them 0 stars.
Where can I get these in 22”, 14”, 10”,12”14”,16”? And how much?
I have those cymbal mutes I wish it was half as thick get a tiny more sound.
Yeaaaah! There's an idea... cut some of them down! See if you can make that :)
Is it too bouncy like Remo Silent Stroke head on Bassdrum? Is it feel natural? Both mesh, I worry about it.
It definitely bounces like other mesh heads, BUT if you put some padding behind, like a little blanket or really thin pillow you can dial in your feel!
Thanks! So, This or other BassDrum muffler? What to choose?
That's a tough choice! I think another great option would be getting a mesh head on your kick and filling it with muffling, plus some beater patches. It takes a lot more time to install than the Black Holes do, BUT if you've got a bass drum you can have just for practicing, it's probably the best feeling way to do it! If you don't though, this is a super close second and can be attached in seconds! :D
Too expensive, My question is.. For metal high doble stroke in bass they are strong enough for it?
Honestly by the way you had it micd up and everything you could record with that and have a different sound
Yeah man! These could totally be an effect
I like the the rtoms, but those cymbal mutes though...yikes...
no wonder you think its a lot of fun to play these if you can enjoy the deadened cymbals
I read feedbacks in Sweetwater's website that the only piece that doesn't work is the bass drum. 🤔
I got drum mutes and I like them but an electronic kit would be much better in my opinion
Therealmatthew 2 I have one no electric are more expensive and aren't as cool or fun to play btw I have acoustic kit too
Still really loud. By doing that noise, I would be kick off from my apartment. i like your drumming anyway
Apartment solutions are tough! Roland makes a product called "noise eaters" you should check them out!
The drums have mics on it, its really a lot more quiet
they kill cymbals so much like all silencers
Those are Vater cymbal mutes, I don't actually know if there's a better option, short of getting into those low volume cymbals!
There great except for I don't want to spend 800 dollars on drum pads
still sound kinda loud....for apartment
They're legit pretty quiet, may be the studio processing :)
Booo Not a fan of MoonGel as it's ruined the veneer on one of my Lite bass drums. These look interesting though!
Oh BRUUUUUTAL! Yeah, those things leave color, not cool!
All I hear is annoying "ticky" transients
