Sky's Angel Reese Enthusiastic About Teaming Up with Fever's Caitlin Clark at WNBA All-Star Game
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese began her Wednesday by extending her remarkable double-double streak to 14 games, leading her team to victory over the Atlanta Dream. Later in the day, she appeared on ESPN's "NBA Today" to talk about her standout season and her upcoming appearance in the WNBA All-Star Game.
This year’s All-Star event will have a special format, featuring a matchup between the U.S. women's national team and Team WNBA in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Reese will be part of Team WNBA, joining forces with fellow rookie star Caitlin Clark. Reese expressed her excitement about the opportunity, calling it a "really cool" experience.
"I know so many fans are going to come out to watch both of us," Reese stated. "I'm sure Phoenix is already sold out. Being able to play in that environment is amazing, and we'll be playing together for a long time. This won’t be the last time we’re All-Stars, and hopefully, in 2028, we'll be Olympians together."
Reese's enthusiasm for teaming up with her collegiate rival mirrors Caitlin Clark’s earlier sentiments. On June 23, before the All-Star teams were announced, Clark commented, "A lot of hypotheticals. I think both of us would probably say our focus is on playing basketball, and if it works out for both of us, great. It would be a lot of fun-we’ve never played together. She's had a tremendous season, and if it happens, I'm sure people would love it."
The WNBA All-Star Game is scheduled for July 20 in Phoenix, with the game set to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Following the All-Star festivities, the WNBA will take nearly a month-long break for the Olympics, which run from July 26 to August 11. The league will resume play on August 15, with the regular season ending on September 19.
Although neither Clark nor Reese made the cut for Team USA this year, with Clark’s exclusion being somewhat controversial, their current performance suggests they are strong contenders for the 2028 roster. Those Olympic Games will be held on home soil in Los Angeles

I wonder if these two will stand out in the All Star game? Supposedly they will be up against the best of the best.
