I’m the workaholic but COVID has really changed my position on that. I use to work long hours and bring my work home. Sometimes only seeing my kids a for a few hours if at all. COVID stopped all that I’ve been teleworking for 7 months now and realized these people don’t care nothing about me if I drop dead they will find someone else easily! I’ve since taken some of that drive and put it to work for myself for something that includes the family and something that will benefit us all.

Yes this is my husband , I love him but he’s definitely a workaholic. I know he’s trying to get us in a better spot financially, but I like balance. I truly believe if my husband could he would simply work and go to church and that’s it no travel or fun. My husband is kind natured and a giver and I had to reign that in a lot when we got married bc I truly believe family took advantage of that and I peeped their game. He’s super ambitious and driven, but he allowed folks to pull on him, take from him so much that I feel like now that we’re married he’s actually able to focus on his goals and kind of playing catch up in a way.

Thank you for making this video. Although, I’ve just come across it 3yrs later. I feel like I’ve met my person but he works a lot. We’ve been together for 4months. He is very focused on his goals and work. I am too but I make time and my peace/smelling the roses is priority. I am going to have a convo with him on this so we can discuss, balance and find a solution together. However, if there are no changes made, I will walk away, as quality time is huge for me in a relationship.

Balance is definitely the key!! You guys are the perfect example of how “the two shall become one”. The balance here is in the blend; the amalgamation of respected individual life purposes, lifeSTYLE and life goals. Sometimes it takes a little extra effort to fine tune the perfect recipe (for marriage and success) but you guys are a BEAUTIFUL example and PROOF of that process!! #You can’t pour from an empty cup 🖤❤️🖤

So glad I found this I have been struggling with a workaholic and it’s so confusing at the moment. I related so much to how this beautiful lady felt at the time because I am in this space now. And listening to him resonates with my spouse. This is no cake walk but I’m finding that it is leaving me to work on myself in soooo many ways. But some days I’m like hell nah to the nah nah nah. Other days it’s like Jess you got this because In the end no matter the outcome you will also be better for it.. it can do a number on the mental. Feeling very put on the back burner at times but also work in a sense is like his therapy and I dnt want to be resented or resentful. God knows the beginning and the end so let’s ride lol .

I am the workaholic now but in the beginning it was my spouse. I advanced at my job which gave me more responsibilities and now my husband is the one nagging.

This is why most men don't want to get in relationships until we have money. Many women don't want to pay bills but you also want men's time. It's just not that simple, especially as an entrepreneur. Yes we need balance for sure, but as men without work we won't have anything.🎉

Definitely work but when you are off or have 5 mins be present with the wife and kids instead of stoic. Transition your mind for family time when it arrives.

I love how transparent this is! I love that you both can communicate where you were and how far you have come. I was the workaholic in my marriage until I realized I want to be young while I enjoy this MONEY! No for real, life is short and I much rather be with my family. I went into a different position with more money and less management responsibilities and my wife told me one day she was so happy I was no longer attached to my work email. I use to check emails on vacation and maternity leave. I was bad. 🤣

Jamilla & Que lol thank you for sharing! We want to enjoy ourselves while we’re still young too. We’re still going to work hard , but It’s all about finding the right balance that works for your family.
