    Australia clinics quoted me over $14,000 for hair transplant. Instead, I went to a well renowned clinic in Turkey (Istanbul). Cost me 1900 Euros or around $3000 Australian dollars. 3 Years later, I still have a great result of hair.

    I had my hair transplant at the age of 66 in Bangkok where I live. I am a British man who has been living in Bangkok for 5 years. My transplant cost me $3400 US dollars. I'm very happy with the results. My consultations were always with the doctor. The after care service is excellent too. They provide after care for a year after the transplant.

    I don’t think you pair appreciate how valuable this channel is to people suffering with hair loss. You can tell how passionate the pair of you are about alopecia etc which is what makes this Channel even better!
    Quick question though, I know Vikram has already done a video on Saw palmetto but Russell mentions in this video that Saw palmetto does not work. Russell do you believe it does not work at all, like does it not block the 5 alpha reductase even slightly?

    I had 2 HT procedures done here in melbourne and 1 in turkey just recently with Dr Acar of Cosmedica. I not only found it had become too expensive for me here but my doctor, Rhett Bosnich and his wife had passed away suddenly so i decided to try overseas, i did spend a year researching the best clinic i could find and so far im happy with the result. I wasnt fed any bullshit and i was told what i could actually get done from looking at my donor regions. Its been over 3 months and my donor region is thick again and my front and crown are slowly gaining , i can see some improvement and i correspond with my doctor every 3 months ( 1st week, 3rd week, 1 month and now every 3 months) so i feel im being look after.. but as you said, its important to do your research, ask questions, search forums like "Realself" and others out there to see what other people have gone thru and their journey. I thought about it for a year whilst researching before deciding and thats what i would recommend.

    These videos have really helped me a lot. Thank you so much for making these. I was close to buying into the whole overseas/FUE thing but I ended up going with an FUT procedure with a local hair restoration surgeon in L.A. It's costing way more than I expected to spend but I feel good about the decision as he's been in the business for over 20 years. Wish me luck.

  • @Free_Palestine_for_All_peace

    I live in spain right now, and i had FUT in California which cost me $20,000. I also had FUE in Istanbul wich cost me only €2,000. In Istanbul i had a perfect procedure. Better than the one that cost $20,000 in san Francisco. When in Istanbul just go to any hospital and u will find a world class hair transplant team . They have literally perfected hair transplant in Turkey. Unbelievable!!

    The problem with most Australian Fue surgeons is you get an average result for 25K or more. In Turkey, you get an exceptional result, provided you choose the right place to go, for like 3-4K. There’s probably only 1-3 great hair surgeons in Australia and it still might be an average result. This has been the result of my research and not based on my opinion.

  • @oncall21
    @oncall21 Před 3 lety +2

    I am completely on board with your sage advice about the hair mills that exist in Turkey (and India). I think people need to realise that the reality is that if you go to Turkey you have every chance of an ex hair dresser, a taxi driver or a Syrian refugee performing surgery on you. Why are they so cheap? Well when their is no governing body and up to ten or more patients being operated on the same day as you by the same doctor it becomes a simple matter of economics. You can reduce the price dramatically when compared to operating on one person. I would love to see you guys advocate in your videos for 'potential' young patients who watch your videos to look on the hair transplant forums (that are run by patients for potential patients) to see what really can happen. The same can be said by recommending CZcams's Joe Tillman and the Bald Truth with Spencer Kobren. Recently in India patients who have undergone a hair transplant have died, lost an eye and many have suffered necrosis. With the greatest of respect, I would never have a hair transplant in Australia. The dangers here are just as real as the dangers overseas. You have Dr Rhett Bosnich who died of a recreational drug overdose with his wife, you have Dr Mario Marzola who will only perform up to 1,000 grafts (because at his advanced age that is all that his skill set will only allow). You have others who are late in turning up in paid consultation and cut you short when asking important questions such as Dr Ray Woods and others such as Dr Martinick who won't even bother to make eye contact and takes calls during your consultation. Most Australian hair transplant surgeons perform other cosmetic procedures outside of focusing on hair transplants. The sad thing is that the hair transplant industry across the world is in a worse state professionally now than it has ever been. The only Australian surgeon who I have the utmost respect for is Dr Richard Sheill (who would actually have the ethics and honesty to reject a patient who wasn't a suitable candidate and a hell of a nice guy to talk with) who trained up Dr Knudsen. So for the same money that I would pay in Australia for a hair transplant, with the added inconvenience of a return overseas plane flight, would I go to Dr Victor Hasson and Dr Jerry Wong or Dr Pradeep Sethi and Dr Arika Bansal (just to name two)? Absolutely hands down everyday of the week. The sooner the hair transplant industry in Australia starts to call out the truth of what goes on here then the sooner this industry in Australia can start to take pride in their ethics over money and the suffering of disfigured patients. Educating patients about hair transplant techniques, DHT blockers, etc is one thing. Creating informed consumers by advocating that they do their research on well respected hair transplant forums, etc is only the first step.Failing this then the bar starts to lower itself with what can be found overseas such as Turkey and far removed from the more experienced and skilled surgeons overseas as well.
