Poutine is one of my favorite foods of all time. I love the classic, but I've also enjoyed a loaded baked potato version which was the bomb, and a seasoned brisket poutine hnnnng, so good.
That's very easy. Cook your fries of how you want it. Make your gravy. After your fries are done. Put it in a bowl, sprinkle cheese on the fries and then your gravy
I've had chips and gravy, chips and cheese but never all three. curds are a bit non available in uk but can be made with milk and yogurt I think. Like paneer
Im Mexican and i once ate your lovely poutin back in Toronto and I've been craving it since then it have been 4 years of painfully craving your delicious poutin
I’m American and the first time I ever had poutine was at a Smoke’s Poutinerie!! I died. I had it 7 times in the 5 days I was in Canada 😂🤣 On my last trip there I took an hour detour to stop by for poutine and almost missed my flight home. But let me tell you, everyone on the plane was jealous I had poutine to eat when all they had was crackers and peanuts 😜 I have searched high and low here in Southern California for Canadian poutine but the restaurants who have it on the menu do not have actual poutine!! No one would know unless you’ve had authentic poutine first. I tell all my American friends, this is NOT poutine people!! lol I would love to learn how to make it so I can have it more than once every few years!!
It's basically fries gravy cheese curds and if you wanted to taste more like a quebecois dish add chicken and never mix the gravy around always let the gravy sink into the plate
Just had some "Real" poutine today lol. I'm lucky to have have access to real Canadian cheese curds & poutine gravy. My wife's grandparents are Canadian & while they live here in the US, they travel up there several times a year. They bring me goodies when they do, curds, gravy & maple syrup 😋. What's killing me is that i can't seem to find a recipe for the authentic poutine gravy. I'm not sure sure if it's chicken or beef or a combination of both lol. But as a cook, I know that it's not typical brown gravy or chicken gravy. There's something unique about it. Not sure why there aren't tons of recipes on it. Oh well, at least I get my fix a few times a year lol!
@@fausimo lol, thanks. Now I really have to learn how to make it. My wife's grandparents are in their elderly days & no longer traveling to Canada, plus the border lock downs. I know how to make cheese curds now, just need to learn how to make the gravy 🤔😁
I'm Canadian Indian living in India now from 2018...lol I miss my Poutine and Canadian Pizza! .... Someone plz parcel it right now cuz I can't stop...mouth watering! It's just embarrassing! 😟
As someone who can no longer digest most meats without getting sick I wholly appreciate the vegetarian gravy. Thought I would have to live without poutine forever
I'm Korean and I CAN't forget the taste of poutine I had in Canada. Thanks for the video!
JOO HYUN SONG “oh poutine!” Is amazing in Seoul in itaewon

As a quebecer, I'm always surprised to see how such a simple junk food recipe (poutine) has become so popular elsewhere.
Thanks to Ron and Hana for letting us use their store and a special thank to Muhi for the lesson :D
KBDProductionsTV hey

Hey Ken, you may have a career as a Poutine-ologist. Well done.
When i crave poutine, i normally just go mcdonalds cuz it’s nearer to me but i always prefer smoke’s because it has more flavour
Cool vid!

They need to open on franchises in California damnit!
Nah Canada for ever
If you've never had poutine, let me tell you: yes it's freaking delicious and no it's not better than pizza.
let's agree to disagree
Lina King what? no sorry, I don't agree to what you said, poutine is good but it's not pizza good
i heard about tĥis online, im from california never seen this in 30 years
I think they are both delicious, but when it comes to foods, it is all opinion based
Metal Coasters ur lyings it’s better than life and pizza
I'm from Slovenia so my English is pretty bad so can someone pls tell me what does that mean "ladling the gravy"
yaVoyツ the spoon that he is using to collect the gravy is called a ladle. To ladle the gravy essentially means put it on top
This is the only Smoke's I've been to, pricey but nice.
You could've said it was pricey but nicey hahaha
I’ll take it from you guys! Best poutine!
OMG when he’s listing the gravy 🤤🤤🤤
How to assemble Poutine
Yes, the only things a Canadian needs: Maple syrup and poutine. It’s also why we have free health care.
Congrats being featured on Lisa Nguyens's channel!
It's good. Delicious
this is best poutine
yes
I made some with sweet potatoes. Don't know if it's allowed but it was nice
Made my own curds as well. Bacon and gravy
Travelling across Canada by book. It will be fun. Time to try different poutine.
Halifax is my first big place. I don't live far from the original.

Can't make the perfect poutine without showing us how to make the perfect gravy.
As someone who can no longer digest most meats without getting sick I wholly appreciate the vegetarian gravy. Thought I would have to live without poutine forever
Wow I live really close by
I’m American and I am 6 states close to Canada
Why so cheap on the cheese?
what i like is that they use fresh potatoes, not like most restaurant using frozen one. but why does he need to seasoned the fries, whyyyyyyy!!!!
Have you ever had plain potatoes? Potatoes deserve some seasoning.
isnt that what the frying the sauce and the cheese are there for?
was expecting ken to cut the potatoes with knives
KBD confirmed
Just so you guys know this is not a Canadian dish this is a quebecois dish
Since Quebec is part of Canada, it is still a Canadian dish.
@@silkeotd7194 Québec*
I miss the Berkeley California location 😭😭

So…. Y’all just ain’t gonna wash them potatoes, huh? 😒
Cheese and Gravy looks kinda skimpy.

Poutine is actually Canadian, not American. Though I really wish we could claim this one lol.
+Kesha Winehouse my point was that america dosent have it lol
Actually he can say "America" cause Canada belongs to America not the US

This grown man has never drained fried food over a paper towel?
opmike343 he has but not cheese curds and gravy
That gravy seems too dark, a real Quebecois poutine is a more orange color of gravy and we that it pu-tsine
You should rename the video title into "how to make french fries".
You idiot
I llov pouting especially burger kings
Guys cmon the poutine is made by french canadien (Québécois)
Ya, we all fucking know
Cheap with the cheese
Every poutine place in TO sucks, for such a simple dish, it takes skill to fuck it up.
Wheres fucking BBQ Gravy ?
already at the start you made a mistake never leave potato skin no one like the skin.
What happened to washing the potatoes from the bag😱😳😬... hm'🤔🙄⁉️ Looks yummy but no thanks.
Next time show us how the gravy was made you animals
"How to fry potatoes and put the rest that are already made"
Sure! It's just gravy! Just take the gravy from the gravy tree and put it on the potatoes! Every gravy tastes the same!
What are you like 5 years old, that's how you serve it, not how you make it!
This is fries don’t call it poutine.
