Canada is a nice small nation of a population not up to 50 million. Canada’s population is just like the State of California…and California’s economy is still bigger than that of Canada. Canada’s economy is somewhere around Texas’s. In terms of job and opportunities, the US has no match in the world currently and throughout history. Canada is actually coping the American system until they are having housing crisis. The US has been a melting point for immigrants since 1820. The world has never seen a country like the USA. After the WWII, the US helped build all the now developed nations (UK, Canada, China, Japan, Korea etc.). The US has OPT (work permit) for all international students, in fact, the US has been the top place for immigrants since 1800’s. Even visitor visas were getting work permits on arrival. With the influx of immigrants and terrorists…the US changed after the 9/11. The US has never been the same after accommodating people from different backgrounds. Canada has been a small nation (population) that is doing well but has never been closer to the US in terms of opportunities, money and power. Canada can’t match California sef not to talk about the whole US. The green card process is having a long queue that is why ppl are considering Canada bcos of its proximity to the US. US has the highest paid jobs and opportunities in history. The Americans don’t mention Canada like ppl in Canada like to compare themselves to the US. America only sees the world and they being the world’s savior and police.
I agree with everything you said @chorkormillionaire only because you highlighted hardships that come with transitioning to PR. I was an F1 student before. After getting my green card I joined the army and got my citizenship all within 2 years. I thought about moving to Canada after school but I didn’t go through with it. US is a better poison if you ask me.I think Canada is going to be a bad option with the influx of international students going by the current events. My advice is, if you are thick skinned US is for you, if not then Canada is the right pick. I still love Canada though.
I am an American. I know a few people that came in as a student and they are looking to pay people just to stay here in America. I 13:09 caught my attention. This is great. I would always support Canada 🍁
There is employers' sponsorship in the USA green card immigrants qualification and has a free market system. It is not a failure of America as you put it. The Canadian permanent green card system is socialized because the postgraduate degree holders guarantee higher taxable income for the Canadian system.
Thank u sir very informative Well, am confused about where to go between the two countries as a Nurse and have eligibility to write Nclex for the USA and am in love with Canada but I think I should pray well ooo. Pls can u do cost of living btw this two countries for health workers only. Thank u sir
As far as nursing jobs, USA is better because l have seen a lot of people that passed their NCLEX in Canada coming to USA to work. As a nurse, in America you are highly paid. Check how much travel nurses make on goggle
Cost of living among cities varies a lot in both countries , not sure about USA, In Canada, is about 1200 to 3000 Canadian dollars for one bedroom apartment, depend on which city
Thanks for the video, I have always loved Canada, sir any advice on public health master's degree and is it possible to get a loan for living expenses there and a scholarship at the same time I highly appreciate for your response
Education is across Canada from age 4 till the end of secondary school. Free bus transportation if your child lives more than a number of kilometers from his school
Wow....do you know how much that has saved a family with 4kids in Nigeria.....free education till secondary school and free transportation 😮 Thank you for this info Mr Choko....moving in soon by God's grace....still on Visa processing .... wishing myself and family luck!
I agree with you 90% on everything you said. Canadian immigration, getting the PR is way easier than getting your pappers in America. However I do not agree with you with which country it is easier to get a Visa to. The Canadian one is straight forward. And that is more certain and easier. The American one you can have everything right and still you will be denied. Bare in mind that the US does all that Canada does but still requires physical interview. Family reunion in Canada is also better compared to the United States. And I am American citizen myself. It is extremely difficult to get into the US legally, than in Canada. this I think a lot of people do not know. I was offered a job in Canada, and in the offer letter it's stated after 6 months they could help me apply for PR. But I am not ready to leave the US yet. Too cold in Canada..
Massa, don't say what you don't know. Have you heard about EB -1 program in the US? I have 2 friends (a PHD and a masters' holder) who got their green cards this way.
In the US, after your bachelor or graduate degree, you can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) to stay and gain practical experience. It ranges from 12 to 36 months depending on your area of study. This is a fact. I and my brother went through such process.

Can my wife with diploma in midwifery apply to the usa with NCLEX?
Probably not. More and more recruitment agencies are requiring nurses to have at least a BSc degree in nursing to be sponsored.
