@@SA80TAGE Would be great if SAMs and ground radars would playable with radar screens and radar modes simulated. Not as a full-blown module, but a bit more immersive. And all SAM systems.
@@SA80TAGE i wouldn't go as far as arma gameplay such as troops but some should be playable or atleast shoot from like the igla soldier but ground vehicles tho would be a game changer

I want the Gap map so much.... The whole Fulda/Bad Herzfeld/Alsfeld/Schotten area. Spent a lot of time on the ground in that area back in the dinosaur days. (And I need a F-105D to go with it).
Another info filled show, just sitting tight waiting for the Phantom release, going to be an interesting learning curve.
Maybe in a couple years we'll get the Phantom.
You have time to get Natasha that fur coat before the winter version of KOLA is released.

Kola is great considering it just came into EA. I look forward to the updates and seeing this map improve. Already had hours of awesome flights on it with only some stutters when on the ground.
Nothing to say about the Phantom. April came and went blazing fast and I am sure Heatblur felt it as well. They probably feel immense pressure to get it out before summer begins so they can avoid a second delay. Meanwhile, I am more hopeful about the radar part 2 video from Heatblur, It has been 4 weeks since part 1, hehe.

Once again, thanks for the video update. Looking forward to the Kola map review. With so many modules (presumably) being released within a short period of time, and me not yet having won the lottery, some hard purchase decisions will have to be made. :)
I am a very patient person. But this delay in the Phantom is a little concerning. Hopefully some news will come soon.

They actually talked about it in a french stream. Iron mike was the Heatblur' member. He said that everything is ok on their side for a release before the end of may.
Often we see cold start videos and other training style videos from popular youtubers a month or two before modules are released. We don't even have that yet, so yeah, kind of strange.

The constant delay from Heatbluff‘s Phantom is a massive annoyance for me but told me a precious lesson. I will never ever again pre-order anything from ED! It would be o.k. if we could get a refund, but the fantastic company policy makes a refund impossible…
Has Orbx said anything about the difference in quality between their trailers and the actual map? I'd be fine if they said it was still a work in progress that hasn't been released yet, but I haven't heard them say anything about it.

DCS needs to have streaming of terrain data on demand instead of filling whole hdd
taking in mind that sdd storage is cheap this days.. and not the enterelly world have super download speed... I prefer big maps and not streaming terrain data
@@patriciomassun True. I never really had storage issues for DCS maps, even if the drive it's installed on wasn't sufficient. And I'm literally running into this again just right now with the Kola map. I don't have it installed yet and only 130 "jigabytes" left.
The trick is to use so called "junctions" to move parts of the installation (typically the map data) to another drive in a way the system and the sim still can find them.
For that, open up a cmd window in E:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains - (using my folder structure, I installed my DCS to E:\DCS World Open Beta) and just move the map folders that are too much somewhere else, to let's say F:\DCS Terrains. I typically do that with the ones I don't fly a lot - a habit that I used to develop when my other drive still was a HDD. Let's say I moved Normandy over there. Now for DCS to still find it, type this into the cmd folder that you opened up in the Mods\terrain folder:
mklink /j Normandy "F:\DCS Terrains\Normandy".
Repeat with each folder you moved and you're looking at free space for updates and new maps again - that way you wouldn't have to move your entire installation, clone your stuff to a bigger drive or anything like that, just add another SSD and drop the stuff on that like this. As long as it's a decent SSD that is capable of hitting the 500MB/s read speeds that theoretically most SATA SSDs should be able to, it's good enough.
Also, this can be done with the tool "Link Shell Extension".

Thx for the update, as I was wondering what happened to the F4E yesterday.
Lol, regard HB Phantom, isn't this just more trials and tribulations of being a DCS module owner. It's a sim which I love to play and ever since v2.9 have never regretted owning.
But ES's DCS is always impacted with issues and doesn't have the 3rd party support from Devs as other games ans sims do devs, due to the coding complexity of each module. Its so detailed that a change to address a problem somewhere, can impacts something else., somewhere else's. Or so modules need changes in how the core code works, before they can release modules
All adding delays in new Module launches, which are few and far between, as they are.
As a user base we've just become acustomed and used to it.🤔
But as a Steam DCS player, I'm still looking forward to HB F4 release as well as ED CH-47 Chinook and they'll be ready, when their ready. ❤👍

Haven't bought the Kola map yet. Waiting for the Afghanistan map coming out in June. Wish there was more on the Iraq map. I've tried to register for the Pimax giveaway, keep receiving errors in attempting to sign up. Was on last light, training a new flyer on the Hornet. He didn't do to bad. He made his first "trap" on the carrier. Great video, keep up the great work
