Can The Worst Partner Beat Paper Mario?

- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Partners - Ms. Mowz only has one attack. It's weak, pathetic, and really doesn't carry very far. And the rest of her kit isn't great to use in combat either. In TTYD, she is regarded as bar none the worst combat partner in the game. With her skills in stealing badges and extra items for battle though, will it be enough for her to bite through the opposition? Or will she find herself trapped like a rat? Stay tuned!

1.) Only Ms. Mowz can be used in battle (when we get her, exception for the Iron Clefts and latter half of Chapter 4).
2.) Ms. Mowz must be in the front at all times.
3.) No superguards or evasiveness badges / items.
4.) Aim for as few items to purchase as possible to finish the game (this will be calculated at the end of the video, comment down below any questions.)
5.) Zess. T is banned.
6.) (For if I ever try the pit) Mario is allowed. - Hry
Really hope you enjoy this video. I know Bug Fables is the thing people really come to this channel for, but TTYD is my baby so if ever I have something to make on this game, I plan on giving it everything I have. Even when using a partner as trash as Ms. Mowz.

Ms. Mowz is definitely meant as a support character, nothing more. Her greatest strength is using the move you need her for, and then switching to someone else, so her role as supporter is also a bit too weak in my opinion.
i just use her as a meat shield in bosses :/
@@cyanified This is exactly my point. She's too weak, even at what she does best.
Doesn't help that ttyd hates anything other than offense
hey don't say that she's useful at... killing bosses with high defense!
@@FucksUInTheAss If you don't have the right badges and items, she is absolutely good for that. Her niche. But Love Slap, I think that was the name of her attack, is not the only way to deal with high defense even if it's one of the most free and direct.
Mrs mowz fighting dirty in the end was poetic as hell. She's a thief. Thieves steal things.. and in the end using all the things she stole and badges to make her unstoppable? That's the perfect ending.
Not to mention, she owns the badge shop. *Of course* she would use all the badges to make herself a god.

Such is life.
Makes sense that a character such as Ms. Mowz would rely on items and badges than her own physical prowess. There was a scene in the Great Boggely Tree she snuck up on an X-Naut and knocked him unconscious, really cements her place as a ninja/rogue thief.
If only she could utilize her jumps in battle to the same extent as in the overworld.
Tbh mowz should have a few moves where she uses her speed in combination with an item to convey how she's not very strong but still make her a viable partner.
i cant express the sheer disappointment i felt as a child after grinding out every partner to level 2, realizing i had leftovers, THEN realizing theres a SECRET PARTNER, running around trying to get her for several hours because i didnt wanna use a guide, and then FINALLY getting her and maxxing her out, just for her to be complete fucking garbage at the endgame point i was at. ill never ever forget it for being the first time in my life that i realized "oh my god... im wasting my time"
This comment hurts me on a spiritual level from the sympathy I felt.
Shadow Queen: Who are you?!
Ms Mowz: You really wanna Know?
SQ: Yes!
Mz Mowz: You killed me. Several times.
Shadow Queen: Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?
I mean it couldn't be Goombella, Flurrie, or Yoshi since they all went deathless. And both Bobbery and Koops only died once... and if she couldn't remember a fellow shadow... lol
Ms. Mowz's power comes from the insane number of badges she can nab. That's her entire gimmick, you could say
How poetic that she can only truly come into her own when she's forced to rely on her best move ahead of time.
Ms. Mouz is basically a bard. She's there for fun and useful in very specific conditions. I can't really complain because I love bards đ
With the very little I know of Dungeons and Dragons, her being a bard makes way too much sense and that's hilarious.
Bard is a very good jack-of-all-trades class, though. That usually refers to something that's generally good-
Doopliss became an better meat shield than Mowz and can even turn into Mowz.
Ms. Mowz is definitely a novelty partner, but that's why she's my favorite.
Referring to X-nauts as âcrossâ nauts hit me like a ton of brick.
HA HA HA
I used to think she was horrible⊠but then i realized ms. Mowz is exclusively a utility partner. An item gatherer, a literal thief, a loot goblin.
My favorite type of teammate
Locke in FF6, though with the genji glove , atma weapon, thief knife, and X-attack which mugs, and then attacks with that setup, he is pretty tough
I think it's no contest that she's worse than Flurrie.
By the way, just binged your entire TTYD Partners playlist. Great stuff. Surprised to see Vivian rank so far down, but not surprised to see Yoshi and Goombella so high up.
Shame that some actually think Flurrie is bad when she's miles better than Mowz and even other partners though. But yeah Mowz sucks.
Happy you enjoyed seeing the whole series though!
Funny how most people claimed Goombella to be utter useless or just low-tier. Her Multi-Bonk makes her a boss killer by default and she can even prove it.
Flurrie at least has a niche. Sheâs a great partner when youâre playing the game underleveled/inexperienced because she tanks for days with Lip Lock and Dodgy Fog is great to make Mario difficult to hit.
Sheâs not really a speed running partner but sheâs a fantastic life line when you first play the game and first experience stuff like the Pit of 100 trials
Flurrie isn't amazing, but she's definitely at least middle of the road.
Not like Goombella or Yoshi levels of broken, but she's a solid all rounder for most situations (sorta like Vivian who's better at some things than Flurrie but worse than her at others.)
Bobbery is unarguably the second worst, with Ms. Mowz absolutely being by and far away the bottom.
@@Jordan13299 I mean Dodgy Fog isn't exactly super reliable, but yeah Flurrie's Function as a tank is where she shines largely because Lip Lock is just a really good move, (early on she also has a niche on being able to hit ceiling bound enemies easily before other partners can do so.)
I think the intent was for Bobbery to be a sort of tank as well with stuff like Hold Fast and his HP outclassing even Flurrie, but no self sustain makes him much worse at the same role.
Me: Dialing M! For Monke!
*Mz. Mowz pops up*
Me:... Good enough.
Me after watching the run:... I miss my Monke.
I miss Monke, too...
The only reason to run is for the dialogue. I remember this one badge that would allow me to swap partners out without a turn penalty so I could always attack with with someone else then switch back to her before the fight ends and the next cutscene plays.
This reminds me of that time I tried to beat Xenoblade DE without using the Monado
As soon as Alvis teaches you Monado Purge the run is basically over, he can't do even a single point of damage against the Telethia and you can't bring anyone else into the fight
Yikes
idea for a buffed miss mouse: Every stat and every skill is the same except for 2 huge change:Her attack can now hit all enemy and also ignore dodge, her smooch now heal 10 Hp to main target and 5 Hp to the one that didnt get the kiss
Alternatively, make tease do damage.
you called her loyal when she went to who everybody asmued was dooplis when it was you. she tried to cheat being a partner with you and ended up doing it with you.
Simple, she knew all along.
She was never meant to be with you at that point in the game. She isn't following the script, and that gives her enough meta awareness to know the Mario she was following out of the Steeple was a fake.
How to buff Mowz
-Love Slap Ultra Rank= 5 or 6 damage (Not front locked and single target/piercing, the crowd also doesn't boo)
-Kiss Thief (Keep the same property, but make it steal anywhere, increase item/badge ratio and drops at any point)
-Tease (Make it damage, cause dizzy and stack with attack buffs while hitting every enemy)
-Smooch (Rather than 10FP going into 10HP, make it at most 5 FP while working like a Slow Shroom for herself and Mario, but last about 5 turns, would help her frail HP. Maybe heal by 3HP each turn, 5FP for 5 turn healing)
At least this is what I have given her current moveset, unless someone has an idea for a revamped one.
I feel like a move that could grant invisibility would be way cooler than a move that just had a chance of making enemies dizzy. She brags about her sleuth so like... why not? Maybe making her more popular with the audience would be nice, too. That alone would go a very long way in making her more viable.
@@PhantomAarantula I agree that would be the much more viable solution, but I was moreso offering the best balance choice with her current kit. Imagine if recruiting her increased all badge/item rates from enemies by 50 or 75%? You could even add a bonus that Kiss Thief could stun enemies holding badges as a bonus. Being a badge thief this would be useful.
Also Smooch working as progressive healing for 5 turns is a great support options, especially since you could heal 3-4 HP for 5 turns, especially if its for both Mario and Mowz.
But I DO agree invisibility would be better.
@@Surgemaster2012 Yeah agreed
And casuals still say she's better than Flurrie because her basic attack pierces defense. LMAO It completely ignores her other faults, which is everything. Who cares about that when the trade off is worse? (Its also just a worse Lip Lock) At least Watt could choose where to attack when she wanted. Worst combat partner by far. She would've been fine as a frail glass canon if her tools were excellent at supporting, but unlike the actual glass canon Koops, Mowz is just glass. And honestly Kiss Thief should also be used anywhere and not front locked.
While every other partner is usuable in their own way (pretty balanced, though not perfect) Mowz is underpowered. Her support toolkit needs to be re-structured. Especially TEASE! It's also weird considering in all her cutscenes from Chapters 1-3 and the ending it shows she jumps high enough to leap buildings, why can't she do this normally? At least her theme song and character are good.
Because F the player I guess. Disappointment is immeasurable.
Atleast her ability to steal badges is broken af
@@AdaTheWatcher Not really. Its her best move, but Its far from broken. Firstly you have to look at the chances of enemies holding items, which isn't high and even so her usage in regards to wanting to steal badges just amounts to switching in and out.
Kiss Thief also suffers from what her Love Slap suffers from, that being its front locked. You can't choose where to steal it from, meaning if an enemy is fire, welp you lost that item/badge same if they are spiked too. And if they are airborne, good luck! Unless they can be flipped or reposition their stance from air to ground (and vice versa) then you can't steal those either, you'd need to put in extra effort like using Clock Out to freeze or have Mario knock them over just to even execute the move on those kinds of enemies.
Ad being front locked it bad because not only does that limit your approach in battle, but it means Mowz needs Mario to take out enemies just so she could steal a badge/item from a not front position enemy.
It makes sense that badge ninja would use badges to make herself actually useful.
All is fair in love and war. And this is definitely war.
The reason Ms. Movz's SMooch skill heals 10 for 10 is because of the badge that allows you to swap HP and FP. If it went net positive, you'd be able to infinitely heal FP.
Flower saver p exists though. And you can farm those, iirc, from dayzees, I'd have to look at the hold tables, I know for sure some enemies have it in the non hold drop items
Also, the swap is an item , not a badge, you will run out regardless, lol
(Edited because I didn't like how the tone of the comment came off, this sounds less standoffish)
@@DeitySkullKid Oh, my bad; been a while since I went down the TTYD rabbit hole.

No problem at all , we're just chatting about a game, I'm not trying to be rude either , again, that's why I edited the previous comment because after re-reading it felt too confrontational.
You're good, no worries
I think Zoura was referring to HP Plus and FP Plus actually since it isn't practical at all to rely on Point Swaps for that purpose. Even then though, the badges don't increase your current stats to compensate for them being equipped.
Why do the best characters always have to be the worst?
Maybe Nintendo just has a thing for irony.
@@PhantomAarantula Nah, that's a universal thing. ;)
I honestly didn't know Ms. Mowz was so bad in Thousand Year Door...then again i almost never used her in combat and mostly used her field ability to find hidden items
edit: also i had no idea that Flurrie was also bad, i knew Gombella was also not great as she does fall off, but damn, these 3 couldn't catch a break since they are outclassed by Koops, Yoshi, Bobbery and Vivian

@@bulborb8756 Flurry isn't bad. She's not as good as Koops, Goombella, or Yoshi, but she's miles better than Bobbery or Vivian.
Gombella is the best partner slightly out classing yoshi
She can solo the game with badge lodouts is the best support in the game as she can give mario another turn and multibonk with power punch/peril just deletes bosses but giving mario another turn is completely busted since mario can do literally anything
(And if this was just for the solo partner challenge, just ignore this)
I knew she was bad just from looking at her moveset, but I didn't think she would be that awful.
Ms. Mowz has a defense piercing slap attack.
I always kind of hate the amount of dislike Mowz has because yeah sheâs definitely the worst partner for battling, but be honest, this game is so easy. I, and Iâm sure plenty of others beat it when we were just stupid kids. You donât need to always use the best party members or best badge set up in order to beat it. If youâre doing a crazy challenge run, then yeah youâll probably want Goombella and Yoshi in the front seat, but for normal play you can swap partners pretty freely without worry.
I just like Mowz for her involvement in the story and seeing Goombella get jealous, lol. Otherwise, makes for a catchy title.
Just being able to steal badges is one of the best things possible.
You almost never get anything out of the set pool of badges, being able to full customize partners or Mario in unique ways in a realistic amount of time lets her bring the best out of anyone.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 judging by your other comment I reeeeally get the impression youâve never watched a challenge run before. People canât rely on stealing badges to get better, they buy them at the badge shop or from Dazzle. Thatâs how they get better. You donât just hope RNG gives you a good badge in battle that you can steal. She has a bad attack that can only attack non spiked front ground enemies, a gimmick second attack, and situational upgrade attacks. I love her as a character and you can use her in a vanilla game, but regardless if how you play she is the worst battler.
I do like the Scott the Woz outline in the thumbnail!
Who would you say is the best and worst ally for a run that is buddy only.
Also I like how mowz stays with you
If only your partner, far and away it's Yoshi for the best. Worst is debatable, but Mowz is worst unless you grind badges and items. If you do, would probably say Goombella. But if Mario can fight too, Goombella is potentially the best with the worst being probably Flurrie unless Mowz can't hunt badges. Then it'd be her.
So about the keel mango not working, I wanna say that something here messed up the story progression number , because as far as I remember, the tree that drops the keel magos won't drop them until later on
I really wonder what happened/when keel mangos became available

The Rouge the Bat music from Sonic Adventure 2 was the perfect choice as the characters are similar.
0:30 âfor you that already do know Iâm gonna assume you already know and move forward â
Now slow down there buddy these are some wild assumptions
lol
Just gonna add an extension to my previous comment, to express what I think could be done to balance Ms. Mowz.
Love Slap should be stronger but as a niche move, it works well enough against the rare defensive boss for a casual player who likely won't have many options due to less exploitative badge setups. It should do at least 3 damage without upgrade though. Keep in mind Goombella can also target enemies who are in the air and are not the one enemy in front, so I think Love Slap should be stronger especially when you consider everyone's power in the late game. There could be an argument that with Quick Change, you could simply always use Love Slap whenever it's stronger, and then switch back to someone else with no penalty when you need to hit someone Ms. Mowz can't, but that's just kind of what Quick Change does with other situations already.
Kiss Thief is an actually good move. Not something for every battle to be sure, but use it enough times and you can be a monster. If anything, it should be nerfed to not work on badges.
Tease would be great if the effect wasn't, you know, chance based. Maybe instead of making the foe dizzy it could have some other effect instead. I don't really know what this could be though, so I'm gonna be lazy and say make the enemy dizzy longer, and maybe make it cost a little more FP to compensate.
Edit: Saw Phantom's invisibility idea, so that, though I don't think we could call the move Tease anymore.
As for Smooch, make it heal maybe 15-20 HP instead, and bump up the FP cost if this would make it too strong.
What do you think? Would Ms. Mowz be an equal with these changes?
Won't argue against Love Slap needing to be buffed.
Kiss Thief being nerfed would honestly be a disservice with how difficult extra badges are to find considering they're insanely rare drops otherwise. If anything, the move should be able to either target foes whether grounded or airborne, or not be affected by hazardous to touch elements like fire or spikes. Being able to choose your target would also go a long way.
Tease should be a new move entirely, yeah.
Smooch straight up should cost less. 8 FP would be fine because you could still use the move to heal certain numbers of HP and set Mario up for peril more easily if need be.
@@PhantomAarantula Actually yeah, you're right about Kiss Thief. Grinding badges is just as cheap as grinding levels, so there's no reason why we should'nt let that be easier when there's not even a level cap in this game.
Here me out, for a buff for Ms. Mowz. She's the rogue of the group, so... Give her double dip and make her attack stat add to items.
You know what she really needs? More then 1 attack move. Itâs that that honestly puts her down the most for me.
Considering she has Tease which is near completely useless, I'd say that would help if it addressed her range problems.
@@PhantomAarantula heck if tease did damage to all enemies maybe that would fix a lot of her problems

I thought she had some bit of usefulness, in the sense that I remember her piercing all defence.
Unfortunately, no bosses she can be used against have high enough defense where that becomes relevant. And enemies with high defense tend to come in groups making either Koops or Vivian preferred.
What Mowz moves can Doopliss do? Only love slap?
Pretty much. Aside from Koops, Doopliss can only do one move. And as Koops, he either can Shell Toss or Power Shell.
@@PhantomAarantula thatâs really lame honestly
@@CaliCosmicGal he can't even use Mario's hammer anymore
What buffs would Mz. Mowz need to be at least decent?
If dizzy worked like it did in 64 would probably be a decent buff alone.
@@PhantomAarantula I was thinking a possible defense buff on some enemies to make the armor-piercing more relevant.
@@danielhuelsman76 That wouldn't really address her key weaknesses. What would really help her is if she had moves that could hit more enemies than what'd be in front and aren't hazardous to make contact with. Honestly, the one thing that keeps Mowz from being truly unusable is her thief ability.
@@PhantomAarantula What if we leaned into the thief aspect and steal health or FP, or lean into her flirtatiousness and boost her Appeal ability?
I got this partner and tried using her to beat the final boss. I thoight she would be tough because I got her late in the game.
I ended up having a horrible time trying to beat that boss.
Shame.
Having played this game probably over a dozen times since childhood, I've gotten infinitely more use out of Ms Mowz' piercing than I have from Flurry's... nothing special, really. I think it's hard to call her the worst partner.
Cap.
Obviously with such heavy restrictions like in this challenge, partners are going to be put to the test in unique ways. But in a normal playthrough of the game, I think it's no contest. Sure there's not many situations where I prefer to have Ms Mowz, but I can't think of a single situation where I want Flurrie above anyone else
@Jacob Bernardi Literally every boss you fight with access to Ms. Mowz has no more than 2 defense, which means Mowz at best is as good as Flurrie, Bobbery, or Vivian at Ultra Rank if not worse than Goombella and Yoshi with how their attacks scale with extra power. The only potential exception, Grodus, also actively takes more damage from Bobbery's attacks because Grodus Xes are ignored, defense be darned. And even Flurrie can at least target certain bosses like Smorg, Grodus, and Kammy Koopa which Mowz with her one and only attack can't. Rows of enemies with high defense find themselves better handled by Koops with Shell Slam or even Vivian's Fiery Jinx. Mowz is objectively outclassed in battle unless you're stealing an item or badge. I can't even think of a situation where you'd unironically use Tease, and Smooch is near worthless unless you level up Mario's HP which often runs counter to playing at low HP and crushing bosses with Power / Mega Rush. At least Flurrie's Gale Force can help for Cortez's weapons and she floats over certain attacks making her a good Quick Change pivot if you know they're coming like Gloomtail's earthquake.
Yeah, I don't use Mowz to fight bosses. But I don't use Flurrie either. In situations where Gale Force would be effective I'd rather use something like Fiery Jynx or even an item for extra damage. Outside of that the move is just a noob trap. Mowz's slap is useful in low FP situations, where a move like Shell Slam wouldn't be efficient, or there just aren't enough enemies to justify it. And then, unless I'm doing something like a Danger challenge (which also skews the argument), Flurrie's floating doesn't really come up. I never feel so scared of a move that I feel the need to swap to Flurrie just to protect another partner. Even if it did, being a one-turn meatshield doesn't exactly help her case.
This is all just how my experience with the game has been. It's one of my favourites of all time, but I definitely wouldn't say I represent the end all be all interpretation of it.
@@geminimaxxim I can't say I've ever felt like FP being limited has been much a problem as of late, but so be it if it's a concern for you. Mario is OP anyway. :v

Yes. She is mouse.
I didn't knew ms mowz was so weak, considering she is my favorite partner
She's a fun partner regardless.
Honestly, I think that limiting yourself through most of the run with only badges you can buy and get in the overworld is a good showcase, but I also think that Ms. Mowz was built around the idea that she is the badge partner, meaning she shines bright from having badges. It does not take away the fact that literally anyone else could do better than Ms. Mowz in a fight, with or without badges.
Agreed. And it's more fun demonstrating how far badges can go in exploiting the game balance, too.
Well. This run was also nearly an items only run
More than Goombella and Koops had to in any case which is pretty dang crazy.
@@PhantomAarantula Heck, an items only run might be easier, as you've got 2 characters to use items. I'd love to see it
â@@camwyn256 I wanna say it's impossible because of literally the final boss
(I'd been working on an item only run idea myself)
The problem is that the final boss has a phase where you gotta attack three times, also heals once, and you only have max 20 slots
20*7 ° 140, even if you second phase only, shadow queen has 150 hp
And counter damage won't help because the main body doesn't direct attack
14:53 There's two different kinds of "spiky" enemies: "spiky" and "top-spiky". Afaik, most enemies that are Spiky are Top-Spiky, the only enemies I can think of off the top of my head who are fully Spiky are Bristles and Dark Bristles. That being said, I genuinely didnt think Spinies were fully Spiky.
If you want to get technical, there's 3 types of spiky enemies. Side spiky targets include targets like Magnus 2's X-Punches, lol. The idea of Spinies being fully spiky though is pretty dumb though.
@@PhantomAarantula wait, side-spiky? Is that what causes Bristles to stab you if you try to hammer them?
@@lewisspring35 I think there may be more to it actually. I remembered there's also Pokeys which are side-spiky, but don't hurt to hammer. There actually may be 4 different types of spiky enemies given the different ways spikes can make approaching dangerous.
I wouldn't say she is the worst, she is technically the best. The fact Ms. Mowz can steal badges and things normally near impossible to get is a massive boon.
She is absolutely better then Goombella.
Only being able to Jump and give Mario an extra turn (Tip: Use a Boo Sheet and you do the same thing without FP costs.) means she relies on Mario being "OP" to be good but if you're making an OP Mario build then you won't need her.
At least compare partners with other partners and not items. Tbh if you want an op Mario build, you don't need partners period.
Gosh I know Ms.Mowz is the worst characters in the game it's pain me because I love her personality and her percing damage attack. And I'm about to do a challenge has my only partner with all the worst badges in the game and doing 100%. Wish me luck because it will be painfull XD

Actually I quite liked using Ms. Mowz for the reason that her attack pierces defense. I also just really liked the character so I definitely wouldn't consider her the worst in the game
She's a cool character at least.
Okay, Ms mowz is the MOST broken character in the game, if you steal on an enemy that doesn't have an item, it gives a steal chance based on its hold item table, so you can go to goombas and get infinite close calls and close call ps, or koopas and get infinite power rush or power rush ps, and that's just to start, you can get all KINDS of dumb badge setups because if ms mowz, broken as heck, lol
It's rather poetic how much she can abuse this game if pushed far enough, lmao
Honestly, it more just saves grinding time than anything, otherwise you just gotta keep reloading areas and beating enemies for a 1/4 badge chance when it finally appears

...u mean they aren't called Ex-nauts ...but CROSS-nauts this whole time
No, they're Ex-Nauts.
Cross-nauts? I thought it was X-nauts...
You thought correctly.
type effectiveness doesn't apply to status moves
Laughs in Stealth Rock*
Shoutouts to dead weight and one attack.
The two besties we know and loathe!
WaitâŠAre they called Cross-nauts?!?!? Iâve been saying Ex-nauts since this game came out
Oh. No, they're "Ex-Nauts". I just called them "Cross-Nauts" as a joke before seeing proof that I was pronouncing it wrong.
@@PhantomAarantula Where is this proof? Their names in all other languages and the X-Yux Tattle point to "Cross-Nauts" being correct.
@bethany81707 The tattle log description for X-Naut PhD refers to them as "An" X-Naut. That's about all the proof that is necessary to say "Ex-Naut" is correct at least in English.
@@PhantomAarantula ...
In the same game with "You got a Super Boots?"
@bethany81707 Programming language is funky like that. If you have proof to share though regarding other languages calling them "Cross-Nauts", I'd love to see it.
Ms. Mowz? More like Ms. Blowz amirite guys?
Ms. Blowz sounds like Ms. Blouse, which I imagine would be the name of a women's clothing store manager.
@@PhantomAarantula Haha you said it, brother. I'll drink to that! đș đ» đș đ»
Ms. Mowz is good
Relatively speaking.
shes my favorite
Ated
I notice you aren't consistant with calling everything Cross instead of X
Never claimed to be perfect!
she is so pitiful i was laghuing the entire video
Beautiful
i dont have the game and currently dolphin is to damn confusing for me to get the game on it, but if you could sell the badges then this chalenge is like pokemon, you gain a useless amount of digital posetions that just sit in a box the whole game.
At least this game is fun.
@@PhantomAarantula please help me understand it.
@@GunSpyEnthusiast I don't use emulators so I can't help
What the fuck do you mean most useless partner in all of paper mario she's cute and helps you find star pieces. I don't remember using her in battle much but I swear she has her uses. La Dense Macabre.
Now this is some slander if I've ever seen it. Calling Mowz the worst partner in all of Paper Mario when Kersti exists is lolcow worthy.
@@PhantomAarantula Yeah Kersti is infinitely worse, she doesn't even do anything for you and most of her hints suck for both puzzles and plot progression. She even chastises you for beating boss battles in a developer-unintended way if you don't use the right Thing sticker for it.
I usually don't even bother getting Ms. Mowz. I like her design, but she's such a terrible partner.
Oh I concur. But it makes her challenge significantly more enticing for what it's worth!
@@PhantomAarantula Oh for sure. Challenge runs with terrible "characters" are usually the most enticing because they require the most planning to actually succeed in, especially in a game like TTYD where on a normal run, the difficulty is quite low.
tbh, even if she is terrible, i do get her anyway to find hidden items in the overworld since those can be annoying to find

How did they get origami so wrong?? They had everything they needed in the first one. Just needed new plots.
It's hard not to pity the mouse
I'll say so
Why not hack the game so Mario is invincible so you don't have to worry about him dying?
I think that'd just make it so the enemy has a chance to hit a blank target which could mean partners can get more free turns. Given how also every partner except maybe Koops was able to do this challenge with relatively few issues, it only felt fair to put Ms. Mowz under the same rules.
