I want a cockatoo so bad, they are my favorite because they are loud, absolutely so stinking funny when they throw tantrums, but I know I could never give them their best life
You are 100% correct screaming my Goffin’s Cockatoo will cry until I hold home . I feel guilty if I am gone for a day or an appointment .Vacation? Who will care for him ! Exhausted here
I have a Moluccan Cockatoo, Indian Ringneck, and a Quaker. My birds are more precious to me than anything, with the exception of the other members of my family. I also believe in engage not cage. Birds are a tremendous amount of work. They are needy, they are messy, they are expensive, and they are very destructive. ESPECIALLY COCKATOOS! If you can’t commit to changing everything in your life that is not compatible with life with a cockatoo, PLEASE DON’T GET ONE! If you adopt a cockatoo and later find out that you’re not able to make those changes, that bird has to be rehomed and that is very traumatic for that bird. Having a bird is a lifetime commitment.
Missed you 🪽MOM ❤. Btw you look absolutely amazing 🫶🏻. Yay Jersey 🩷. Missed you tooo🩷🩷. My sulfur crested Triton cockatoo will decalcify your spine when he shreaks. My wife got two cockatoos.....but they bonded to me. I didn't want birds. She wanted them and I was happy to have her have her birds. Now they spend my home time with me. Needing to spend time with me eats into the things I want to do or get done. I believe I would rather have the birds than not have them. They are precious. 😉 Yes, they are always out except to sleep at night. They appreciate being safe in their cages while sleeping. Otherwise, they are always out. My wife doesn't work so she is home with them. Unfortunately they don't interact with her they way they do with me. GREAT VIDEO with info people need to know.
Yay!!! Marlene I missed you! This video was so fun and informative! So glad you answered all of our questions and to see Jersey my fav!🤍🤍🤍🤍 you are so genuine
I started watching your vids long ago, you still had Picasso. I rescued my Amazon and I learned so much from you!❤ Engaged not caged!!! Loved that! My Gigi has her freedom in our home, its her home too. I have perches throughout the house, she uses all of them. Eats meals with us watches bird videos, looks out the window, her life is full. I'm lucky she doesn't chew on wood she prefers to tear paper and likes her toys. Gigi is a great bird, thankyou for helping me make the best environment for her❤❤❤😊
Hi, actually and no offense to anyone but most people shouldn't have a parrot, they are everthing you said , but I wouldnt trade my parrot for the world!!❤😂😂
Your story about getting a bird after college and eventually finding a partner who hates birds- my friend married a girl with a bird and he hates that bird with a passion. So now the bird is caged all day, everyday and pretty much ignored. They just had a kid and I see it coming. It’s upsetting as someone who loves birds, wants one, but knows it would never be a good fit because my husband isn’t on board.
Hi Marlene, sorry I missed the live, but I'm here now and so happy to see you and Jersey (love her outfit, very sheik, lol), and I can't get over the chair you are sitting in, very Vogue lol. Loved the honest conversation about Cockatoos and other birds, really shows how much you really love them. Thanks for the chat it was a treat, take care and hopefully we will see you sooner than later.❤️👍
Same with my lizards. Bearded dragons and my chinese water dragon. They see mine tame and trained and think they come that way. One has to put in time, care, respect, getrin used to each other. Money for supplies, bulbs thay keep the dragon healthy, and their fixtures for the bulbs, and most of all, vet bill for exoctis are insane and that is if one is in ur area or even near where u can get to. They have eye issues, stomach issues, finger, toe, nail, skin issues and u have to be able to pay for their annual check ups as long as ur dragon doesnt get sick, or break a bone wjich is even more costly. Dragons like birds are often held prisoner cuz some people dont know how to tame and or handle a scared, prickly pet and pet stores claim dragons are great kids pet but really not, an afult has to be involved, bugs aka cricket feeders and worm feeders have to be bought fresh every few days and u have to another thing to take care of. Thry need fresh veg and fruits, frequent trips to supermarket for fresh produce and store or amazon for bugs. a majority of children get bored with dragons cuz theyre off doin kid things and not at home or busy on video machines to socialize a new pet esp a bird or dragon. Exotics need more time patience and hands on care. Dont want to deter people but want to make yall aware that research on vets and care and supplies before buying. And ofc if u can rescue or adopt instead of support the over selling and over breeding. Adopt dont shop. Good luck. Hi Marla and Jersey xojo
I a.d.o.r.e. birds but you couldn't pay me to get a cockatoo 😂 i'm happy with my small birdies, cockatiel being my biggest but i don't think i'd go much bigger than them/caique size. temporarily taking on my work's cockatiels for a while because they were going to paint the entire building (that has very little circulation/fresh air to begin with) and didn't even think of the poor birds! can't wait to treat them like royalty
Any way to teach a live how to make chop veggies Or how to tuck in bed all 11 birds . ? Or tips on GETTING THE BIRD TO STAy 1:33:44 ON THE FREE STANDING PERCH?!!! Help
My cockatoo was in a-pet shop and 5 homes then a breeder I got him at 13 years old.he never had a toy was Wild not hand tame It took years . Constant attack , Now he is 23 He has been with me almost 11 years . He is sweet , he showers with me now he is one person bird. So I will be that Messy yes throws seed at Bites daily for two years get schedule and it helps them know what will happen
I love your videos and birds. I have a parakeet that talks in sentences, comes when called and is just the most amazing parakeet. I wish I could commit to a parrot one day but parakeets are easier by far. He won’t let me touch him tho. Any suggestions?
Birds activate themselves by destruktion. I've recently moved to a climate friendly wooden house and realized that it won't ever be possible for me restart my fancy rat breeders and probably not get birds bigger than budgies again 😭
Any teaching from you is so appreciated for many years . ENGAGED NoT CAGED ! you are such a wonderful teacher .
You got that right!! They are any parrot , your lifestyle has to change for them to thrive!!!❤❤❤

Should be watched by everyone considering getting a bird :)
Great info! So cool to see you go live

Try a warm towel only dry the towel in the dryer a few min .
After my birds bath he loves a warm towel to dry off.
@@brendamerrell7721 Thank you! I will definitely try that:)

Are cockatoo s always kind of goofy??
You need to take care of your bird for better or for worse the rest of the birds life. 🤣
