After completing 1.5 semester here in IIT-G, I can say all the facts are partially correct as per my seniors, aur ram ka vasta girlfriend pe achha impression padega ye to bilkul nahi hai, meri crush ne meri request bhi accept nahi ki kyoki usko lagta hai IITian hai, attitude hoga😂😂😂

The thing you said about “Confident” , when i was in 1st-2nd year in IITR, i was constantly struggling in academics but i had some confident i will bounce back but unfortunately after each semester my confidence was going downwards , there are multiple reason for that , Major One is i was selected from reserved category ( So confidence pehle hi thoda down side me tha apn ne khuch khas nhi ukhada h ), i know there are students who had worked harder then me but i will try my best to be remain in at least a avg students but even though my academics scores not increased (it was around 60%) and One more thing i had studied 1 to 12th in Hindi Medium School , it was not easy to suddenly compete with those who are from english medium schools & to understand those english lectures bombardment one after another (i know people will say language is just a medium it will never be barrier but now i think about that time it was really not easy for me , i learned the english over time ) after 2nd , 3rd year i started thinking about i should not try to be sit in placement because my acad was not good and i will not be able become a good engineer , i should try for other things life. I was demotivated but thankfully i never think about suicide like things and not in touch with any other drugs ,addiction 👀 Moral of Story of this 4 Years- Don’t Lose Confidence what so ever , One thing that Really matter is “confidence” not the over confidence and Network you make around these 4 years , AND the Dark side is coaching teachers who said iit me jane k bat life set h , is a big trap 😅 , you have to compete there also it is a Rat Race 🏁
i think think about other 99% too , they are also alike us humans and they too deserve same respect just because of 2-3 % seats , rest 97% are not idiots . Bro I am from IIT Delhi cse 2024 batch, I don't know why you are depressing so many students don't even try to think that you are the smartest guy in the world there are so many people who are much smarter than you and me who are not IITians, and It's not just about IQ and Hardwork but family financial conditions and enviroment also matter, most Indian parents cannot afford expensive coachings before covid and even till today along with that most the students in India do not grow up in educated and competitive even healthy family enviroment. It's completely unfair to depressing the student even you tell the reality that is just for 2 hours in society, 1 year in job and 1 year in post graduation other than that no one cares. My brother got 18 rank in IIT JEE advanced he is just earning 90,000 rupees per month now what you can say.

Listen dear , first of all forget the past and forgive yourself for whatever mistakes you have done in class 11th. If you keep cursing yourself then , you will waste your 12th as well. If you keep one thing in your mind that right now you have started preparation and you have one yr from now to crack it. Everyday focus on whatever is going on related to 12th and side by side take out atleast 2-3 hrs for 11 th syllabus. Believe me it is possible only if you forgive yourself and move forward.

IIT Brand is over hyped by at least 1000 percent in India. Outside India it could be 150 percent overhyped. In today’s world these tags don’t matter much. What matters in the long run is your knowledge, what you can contribute to society and how quickly you can solve problem and be useful. There are many institutions outside India which provides world class education and one need not run any rat race to crack iit. I passed out from reputed nonIIT Eng college almost 27 years ago. In those days IIT wasn’t that big brand. There were a few students in our batch who passed JEE, but didn’t chose IIT because they didn’t get the interested branch. In those days the number of engg colleges were also very few with equally rigorous entry criteria. In my opinion what our country needs today is focussed down to earth engineers who can deliver to the global society.

i am preparing for ssc je , i wasted 2 years 11 and 12th preparing for jee, done my btech from private college and its true that even toppers don't get decent package in private collge , also culture in private college is very toxic , students are so cheap that they dont even try to do some extraordinary things they are in always civil vs cs , dange fasad , politics n all, it was my dream to enter in IIT but now the time has gone, and since now i want to settle early , I am preparing for SSC JE instead of preparing for gate(for mtech). its a fact that only 1% of people succeed in life.

IIT is great but if you donot get circuital branches there take CSE in any tier1/2 college because if you get into mech/civil etc you wont be able to get into IT easily . you need to put lot of extra effort than even VIT cse students
First of all there is no special privileges accorded to anyone based on which college they studied lot of people will be misguided by such stuff secondly making the college you studied an intrinsic part of your life even after you graduate is stupid its the work that should speak for oneself
It’s not that simple: WORK matters and not college. Reality is everything matters. Getting an IIT tag is no harm. It always gives good impression, at-least in my case it helped a-lot in my career .

Bro I am from IIT Delhi cse 2024 batch, I don't know why you are depressing so many students don't even try to think that you are the smartest guy in the world there are so many people who are much smarter than you and me who are not IITians, and It's not just about IQ and Hardwork but family financial conditions and enviroment also matter, most Indian parents cannot afford expensive coachings before covid and even till today along with that most the students in India do not grow up in educated and competitive even healthy family enviroment. It's completely unfair to depressing the student even you tell the reality that is just for 2 hours in society, 1 year in job and 1 year in post graduation other than that no one cares. My brother got 18 rank in IIT JEE advanced he is just earning 90,000 rupees per month now what you can say.

Listen dear , first of all forget the past and forgive yourself for whatever mistakes you have done in class 11th. If you keep cursing yourself then , you will waste your 12th as well. If you keep one thing in your mind that right now you have started preparation and you have one yr from now to crack it. Everyday focus on whatever is going on related to 12th and side by side take out atleast 2-3 hrs for 11 th syllabus. Believe me it is possible only if you forgive yourself and move forward.

IIT Brand is over hyped by at least 1000 percent in India. Outside India it could be 150 percent overhyped. In today’s world these tags don’t matter much. What matters in the long run is your knowledge, what you can contribute to society and how quickly you can solve problem and be useful. There are many institutions outside India which provides world class education and one need not run any rat race to crack iit. I passed out from reputed nonIIT Eng college almost 27 years ago. In those days IIT wasn’t that big brand. There were a few students in our batch who passed JEE, but didn’t chose IIT because they didn’t get the interested branch. In those days the number of engg colleges were also very few with equally rigorous entry criteria. In my opinion what our country needs today is focussed down to earth engineers who can deliver to the global society.

i am preparing for ssc je , i wasted 2 years 11 and 12th preparing for jee, done my btech from private college and its true that even toppers don't get decent package in private collge , also culture in private college is very toxic , students are so cheap that they dont even try to do some extraordinary things they are in always civil vs cs , dange fasad , politics n all, it was my dream to enter in IIT but now the time has gone, and since now i want to settle early , I am preparing for SSC JE instead of preparing for gate(for mtech). its a fact that only 1% of people succeed in life.

IIT is great but if you donot get circuital branches there take CSE in any tier1/2 college because if you get into mech/civil etc you wont be able to get into IT easily . you need to put lot of extra effort than even VIT cse students

First of all there is no special privileges accorded to anyone based on which college they studied lot of people will be misguided by such stuff secondly making the college you studied an intrinsic part of your life even after you graduate is stupid its the work that should speak for oneself
It’s not that simple: WORK matters and not college.
Reality is everything matters. Getting an IIT tag is no harm. It always gives good impression, at-least in my case it helped a-lot in my career .
In hard sciences like physics math medicine and even engineering colleges dont matter you see nobel laureates from ohio state as well as a oxbridge MIT Harvard as well as kyoto FEM is same in IIT as well as in NIT now look at the kids building rocket startups in India most of them are non IITians the digantara guys they are not even from an NIT there are colleges much older than IITs UVCE which is like 100 years old Osmania Guindy whose alumni have been turing awardees created great companies so its ultimately the branch that matters for placements not the college all this network arguement is total BS given how easy it is in the present day to build networks through meetups events one doesnt need to go to a IIT to build networks
