Motocross Boot Revival Part 1: How To Clean MX Boots

  • We've all done it. Put away our motocross boots dirty and still caked with the terra firma we were roosting that day. But you really should wash your boots after every ride right along with your bike. There is hope, however, if you are like the owner of these 10 + year-old SG10s that look like they've never felt the cleansing spray of a pressure washer a day in their life. We tap the boot-cleaning knowledge of Chris Siebenhaar who spent many years as the Alpinestars boot guy and has washed more than his fair share of motocross boots.

Magic eraser with simple green or wd40 gets the black off. Just have more then one bc the boots will tear them up but they work better then a scotch bright pad.

I like long term gear reviews, 6 months or longer, pants, jersey, etc. 👍

Will baking soda and vinegar get the clay stains out? Western Australia mx tracks get that red clay

Why are you cleaning a boot and talking about re sole when the rubber around the ankle area (see at about 7 minutes in to video and later on too) is already cracked open! Boots are pretty much finished - what would be more interesting is how to fix a boot looking like that!

Great and informative video, thank you! I would like to ask a favor. Would you level up the audio when talking? I have hearing loss from the Army(artillery), so I had to really strain to hear the talking. The audio level of the music was great, so maybe shoot for that. Thanks!

commercially available hearing aids have been available for over 100 years now. the audio on this videio is fine.

Pressure washer and simple green works way better than this

I know you left this comment awhile ago, but just in case you see this, could you link me to the simple green that you use for your boots? I see this referenced quite a bit but I am not sure if people are referring to the all purpose cleaner or the heavy duty dirt bike specific cleaner and degreaser. I appreciate it!

@@Tcurry04 I use the stuff you find at home depot. Big jug of concentrate mixed with water in a spray bottle, lasts a long time. There, answered years later!
