Built it myself and would have had it completed in one day but they shorted my about 70 of the main assembly screws.. so after making a run to the hardware store I said thats it for day.

    so perfect! Im sure this is not the first time this shed has gone up. Great how all the parts fit with no effort. RIGHT! Even the screws go in so just right. Real over kill.

    First of all, assembly will not be near as easy as shown in this video, so do not make a purchase decision based soley on it. I can only provide some initial impressions because my Lifetime shed is not completed yet. After getting as far as putting the 4 corner panels in place, which was an incredible struggle, then putting up the sidewall panels and screwing them together, everything fell over leaving only one corner panel standing, and as of now is still laying all over the ground. I was too angry to jump back in for more. The main reason for the collapse is that the tabs on the bottom of the wall panels that fit into slots cut in the floor, are only about 1 inch long, not near long enough for a secure connection. Plus, its soft plastic secured by soft plastic. I was, frankly, shocked at this point alone, and it made me ask, "What have I just paid $2000 for? My next thought was the reality of having bought this very flimsy, plastic thing when i could have made a sturdy wooden one. But, to go on--- the plastic floor, after piecing it together in an inadequate tongue and groove fashion, is "secured" by metal screws, which i found to be too short to actually hold the floor together. Additionally, metal screws into soft plastic just isnt a good concept. And some "by the way" points---the instruction book could easily be better.
    It uses some initials that are supposed to refer to parts that I never found. And it would help if it was more clear in diagrams which panel end is top and which is bottom. But these are small things relative to the fact that this shed is apparently designed to sit in a very peaceful, "weather-uneventful" setting like a corner of a city fenced yard, not in a rural setting where it could be windy or have more dramatic weather. Even though I dont have a wall still standing at the moment, the way the wall panels attach to the floor cannot possibly prevent water from coming in.
    Thats about as far as I can go since after 2 days I only have the floor somewhat still together and one corner panel standing, and the floor is separating because the securing screws are too short.. My most exciting thought is, I wonder if I put an ad on Craidslist, could I even get $1500 back considering its virtually unused and unassembled? If...if I can actually complete the assembly, Im already worried about it blowing over, or away. Ive ordered anchors for it, more money, but its to be seen how effective they may be. Make me an offer, Im very soft on price. I would never, ever do this again. And thank you for the unrealistic assembly video. It does do what you hoped---sell sheds.

    • @LifetimeProductsAssembly
      @LifetimeProductsAssembly  Před 2 lety

      Thank you for your thoughts. We pride ourselves in having products that are sturdy and that will last, but we do understand that we have room for improvement-- like anything else does.
      Our videos are designed to help with the assembly. It is not an overall testament of how long the assembly process should take, but it is there to show you the simplest ways we have found to build this shed.
      When assembling your walls, please make sure you are doing this with a help of another person. Having someone hold the walls into its place and adding extra pressure while another person slides the wall panel into place and secures the hardware will help with this process. Has soon as you secure all walls together, you shouldn't have an issue with it falling over.
      As long as you prepare the recommended foundation (such as concrete or wooden platform) and you have drilled the drain plugs, you should not have to worry about water getting into the shed. The extra space on the foundation will help the water travel to the drain plugs instead of the shed itself. The shed, if built properly, will also with stand winds up to 65 mph. Ultimately, if you are still having troubles with the assembly of the shed or have any more questions about the integrity of the shed, please reach out to our shed experts! They can be reached at 800-225-3865 or by email at customercare@lifetime.com. Customer Service hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (MT).

      @@LifetimeProductsAssembly I agree the shed could conceivably last in the right environment. "Sturdy" is a relative word, so relative to a metal or wooden shed, your competition, it isnt as sturdy.
      In regards to installing the corner wall panels, perhaps I have a bad batch, but with another person, trying to push even the short 3/4" tabs into the floor slots is extremely difficult because of the pressure fit. Still, as of now there is one I cant push or pound in. And due to a few days of rain, assembly has stopped, my walls which popped out of the floor and fell over, are still laying all over the ground so I cant comment further at this point. Question: why are there drain holes inside the shed if water cant get in?

    The screw holes on the end wall Gable on my model 6446 lifetime shed do not align with the roof panel screw lines. I have secured the roof panel to the wall panel as shown here in step 10.3, and the alignment pins on the roof panel are lined up with the notches on the truss. The end wall Gable is properly secured exactly as shown here in step 10.8.

    As another person has already commented, we had a couple of the same issues. First pole to get in the door was a bit tough but with a few taps of the mallet it was in. The second door was a different story. We also had lots of shavings and took a lot of smashing with the mallet. We also had a fight with the corners to click in, esp when you had to attach it to the side bit, there wasn't enough room to line it up. And looking at it now, the side/corner panel which used to bend around the corner to meet the door, there is a massive gap, maybe from trying to press down so hard we've bent it? The top deadbolt isn't lined up with the bar so won't go in the hole. And also the locking mechanism is hitting the other door so we have to open and close them both at the same time.... any help Lifetime??

      Great question Don! The head of the bolt needs to be on the inside of the truss because later on in the assembly the edges of the roof panels will lay inside the truss. If the hardware is put in reverse, with the head of the bolt on the outside, then the cap nut will prevent the roof panels from fitting in the truss. This video is actually closer to the assembly for model 60075: czcams.com/video/rk64nrrz-ig/video.html It is for an 8x12.5 but the assembly is almost identical! You will just have an additional section of wall, roof, and floor panels.

    The door end channel is ridiculously hard to "slide" on, took a long time with a mallet. Not easy like the video!

    i got 3 boxes.. how do i know what is in each box, i don't want to open all of the boxes, unless i have 2.

    • @LifetimeProductsAssembly
      @LifetimeProductsAssembly  Před 2 lety

      You're going to have to open all the boxes in order to assemble the shed.
      Box 1 has the majority of your metal pieces such as your trusses, gutter channels and your wall, roof and floor panels.
      Box 2 has your door and outside floor panels as well as your gables.
      Box 3 has all your hardware and your instruction manual. it also has the remaining of your wall panels.

    Is there any way to anchor this shed to a gravel base?

    • @LifetimeProductsAssembly
      @LifetimeProductsAssembly  Před rokem

      We don’t recommend anchoring and building on gravel foundation due to the fact that it may not be fully leveled.

      Sorry to hear this! Replacement parts can be ordered through our customer service team. They can be reached at customercare@lifetime.com. They’ll need your model number (this is found on the box, instruction manual, or on the shed door on a green sticker) and a picture of the skylights you have received.
