    Hello! How do you water the propagated plants in your perlite prop box, and how often? As for the translucent prop box, do you place it as you've described in the video, in bright indirect sunlight? Thank you for the great video!

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Před rokem +1

      I generally don't have to add much water....as long as you don't open or leave it open for longer periods it is fine. If I do need to add water I'll use a must sprayer and lightly coat with water. And yes, it's in a bright area.

    Hi Jeff,
    Thanks for your great videos. I made a perlite box about 2 weeks ago after watching this video. Now there is a light fuzzy mold growing on some of my plants. Is this ok?

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Před rokem +1

      I have not had an issue, but maybe try mixing it up a bit and opening the box a bit more often to provide some air flow

    • @andreaf4242
      @andreaf4242 Před rokem

      @@EverythingPlants thanks!! I think my box might’ve had a bit too much water. There had been a very little bit of stagnant water when I first made it. The other day, I let it air out for about 2 hours and I moved the mouldy pieces out for a few days. They seem to have dried out and the pieces in the box are happier. I’ll put the dry pieces into a new perlite Ziplock with less moisture. My pieces in Ziplocks seem very happy.

    Hi Jeff. I always learn something from your videos :) I have a question...how long can you use the perlite in the prop box before it needs replacing?

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Před rokem +1

      Hey Rachellle. I've had these perlite boxes with the same perlite for probably almost 2 years now. I don't think there is any limited. The only reason I'd probably switch it out is if it got like a ton of algae build up on it. Even then it would still be okay to use.

    I placed a few ppp cuttings in perlite. First time doing this method (have been successful with Brazil and pothos in water. How will I know when to water? I did follow your tip about not letting water pool. I’m terrified about getting rot or cutting drying out. They are currently inside a small terrarium with grow light above. So I think I have the light and humidity part covered.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Před rokem

      If the humidity is high and the perlite is wet (no pooling of water) then you should be completely okay.

    Hi Jeff!! Hope things are good for you. I just up-potted my Alocasia Dragon Scale. It had a few new little corms. Should I have taken the off and repotted them in their own pot? I thought they would grow with the mama plant for a while. I was kinda surprised to find so many, like 3 or 4, but none had grown up out of the soil yet. My Pink Dragon is going wild at the moment. If you remember that was the plant I thought died, but started growing again after sitting in my bathroom for months. It's diggin life right now. But my Black velvet seems to have gone dormant (I hope!) I haven't gotten anything new in months. Just enjoying what I do have now. Debating with myself if I should take a cutting or 2 from my Monstera Albo. It was a single leaf/node cutting when I got 2 1/2 years ago. Now it has a few nodes and leaves. This one is gonna hurt, LOL. I paid too much for this plant to take a dive on me. It's so pretty. Hope your holidays were great!!

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  Před rokem

      Hey Lisa, I'm not too sure if those corms will actually grow when they're out of the soil like that. I usually just cut them off and you can plant them right back in that container or you can pot it up in something separate. I like to place it in my perlite prop box and then once it starts to grow roots and you leaves then you can plant in a separate pot after that
