Jeff make a cover for the I’ve bag so light can’t get to it. Light causes the algae grow.
I've changed the placement so there isn't light at the back of the plank.

Yeah a black garbage bag sleeve or any other opaque sleeve should work. I think the reason why glass apothecary bottles are brown are to minimize oxidation and/or bacterial/fungal growth.

I’ve been wondering how this project was going! Glad to see your update. I’ve just put a pothos on a stake. I hope it’ll take off as nicely as yours. Of course I do not have a dripper attached 😊.
You don't need the bag....just soak the board every once in awhile.
The pins to keep it straight are such a great idea! I have a ton. I have twice accidentally detached my pothos on a plank when checking on the roots or trying to guide it a little straighter while reattaching Velcro. Oops! Despite that, the leaves have managed to reach 5”. Pretty good considering that I give it minimal care. 😅

Try wrapping that bag & tube in a removal-able cover, maybe velcro. I'm growing a lot in short glass vases with chunky perlite in the bottom - set into a cache pot to stop the algae.

What if you cover translucent plastic bag with black tape or any kind of thing to block the light

Have you considered using pure nutrient-deficient water in the IV to prevent algae and adding fertilizer another way?
Edit.... Spray paint might harm the plastic, but paint makers should work great.
I'd spray paint the IV bag (I spray paint pretty much anything 😂)
Or you could use paint makers.

Spray paint may eat into the plastic, I'd definitely go with pain markers now that I think about it.
